Hi shmavis, great to get 10/10 germination, i now know i don't need to worry about sending these into realgorilla. I had found a bag of them in my freezer stash after i thought i'd sold out and wanted to make sure. Not that many seeds in the bag but enough to restock once or twice.
Not sure if that is the variegation that is common in Chem D lines. Not notices it on cotyledons before and think it may be just a sign of new seedlings that havent had long above ground... we will see.
The variegation is not a problem as such, the D cut has it, but i guess as the white streaks must lack the ability to make energy from light -so then it is not a desirable trait as such.

Hi VG, :tiphat:

I thought it might be coincidence about the cotyledons. Odd though that over the last couple months I have popped 47 beans and only these two (now three) have shown this. I figured I might be jumping the gun, lol. But thought maybe since the possibility of variegation is in the line, that maybe it was an early indicator. And if it’s something I have experienced before - new seedlings exhibiting such coloration - it was long enough ago that I don’t remember. I have four other seedlings set off at the same time right next to ‘em and it’s on none of them either. Will be interesting to see how they progress. Thanks for the info!

No germination worries for sending those in to RGS. Hell, two or three of them popped during the nineteen hour seed soak. To be above ground within 72 hrs is quite impressive!

But where are my manners? I want to take a minute to publicly say :thank you:

Folks, get this. Simply for sharing grows of BDB and WR x Pre-98 I was rewarded with a pack of PTK :woohoo: and given a list of options to grow and show. All of which were so appealing I couldn’t make up my mind, lol. And being extremely appreciative of VG’s generosity with the PTK, I asked that he surprise me with what he’d like most to see a grow and show of. So along with this pack I also received a pack of five fems of ChemD x Pre-98 Bubba. Plans are to get C4DD underway to the point of being sexed and then starting the fems. I will start a thread when it comes time for sharing the fems. (And whenever the time comes for PTK, I will share those too in the PTK thread.)

As of now I have eight C4DD seedlings of uniform height, one runt, and one I don’t think will make it - but maybe. Should be some fun stuff ahead!

no worries shmavis, lets see if the seedlings with the white dots on the cotyledons develop into plants that exhibit the variegation! it could well be the case.
Independent, well executed grows are always a valuable thing for 'breeders' like myself.

It will be interesting to see if the variegation shows and matches with those showing early signs. As a “grower” I am not sure how well executed this grow will be, but I will surely share what I find and how they perform for me. :)

Yesterday I up-potted nine of the ten into SOLO cups. The seedling I suspected might not make it, didn’t. Eight were of rather uniform height with one runt. Looking forward to a few weeks from now!

No problem the seeds arrived on Monday but i still dont like when companies dont respond to mail.

Popped half a pack of the C4DD and 4/5 popped. Sadly none of the 5 rez Chem ibl have popped yet, would have been really fun to compare them to the C4DD.

Hi sticking, how are your 4 doing? Will you be sharing some pics? Hope so. :)

I had meant to have updated at least once before now but fell ill for a a spell and was then gone for Christmas. Still have 9 plants vegging. They grew stretchier than I care for, and were pushed in SOLO cups longer than expected, but seem to have rebounded nicely. They are now 6 days from being up-potted into 1g containers. I have two runts, at least in comparison to the other 7. Of the runts, the one in the foreground is better looking and although slower growing is one I have my eye on, especially since it has a great smelling stem rub. :dance013: Hope to verify sex this weekend. And give the rest a stem rub. Have only checked the runts as of now.

Only sign so far is on one plant and, for the most part, only one fan leaf on said plant.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season - and wishing all a Happy New Year!

looking good shmavis! fingers crossed for a few girls!

Thanks VG! I was only able to verify one plant with the naked eye, and it's a girl. I will break out the loupe if they're not obvious by next weekend. Found some wickedly stinky stem rubs on a few. Should I expect a lot of stretch from these? Does this line produce plants on the taller side? I was surprised at the internode spacing even under T5s. I am thinking I might need to top these to control height, which is why I am wondering about overall height and stretch.

hey shmavis i don't think the stretch is too bad with C4DD but they may be more susceptible to stretching when crowded together than some varieties.

I grew them untopped but had to 'zigzag' the stems as they did get quite tall like that, i tend to grow them quite close together due to lack of space.

Thanks a lot VG for the info! I am kind of tight on space right now myself. :) I will wait until sexed before I make up my mind whether to top or not. They are vegging under a COB panel and chances are they will also be flowered under it. Or at least start out under it.

Really hoping the stinkers end up being girls!

So when is good vigor not a good thing? When you don’t have room, lol. Snapped this pic today just after opening the tent to see who needs a drink and to look again for sex. Not surprised to see the plant in the back right corner in need of a drink. It’s been drinking daily, but pretty sure it’s a male. Checked a few days ago and feel confident in saying there were at least three girls at that time - but it wasn’t a close look. Really hoping to make firm calls on each by no later than tomorrow. Surprised as old as they are that it’s not obvious by now... but then again they are only a little over seven weeks from seed.

Their fast tall growth has forced me to provide better accommodations for them and as such have a new 4 x 4 tent coming tomorrow. Plans (hopes) are to sex them, up-pot them, move the girls into the new tent, and hopefully even flip them by tomorrow night. That would be best case scenario; otherwise they’ll just be moving into the new tent to veg more, but with more breathing room. I do like how uniform height is on these - even if taller than I’d like - and even the runts caught up, with the biggest difference in height being about four inches. Not being familiar with Chem, I cannot say if smells and stem rubs are what’s to be expected; but I can say they’re some loud stinky plants, even in veg. Alright, off to get busy - lots to do this weekend!

Hi sticking, maybe you have your album set to private? I can’t see your pics but when quoting you tags for them show up... Glad to hear they’re still coming along nicely for you!

Great weekend to all!

lovely group shot shmavis, you are right they look very uniform. The vigor doesn't seem to be causing massive internode distance which is undesirable imo.
I find the chems tend to smell like sweaty socks or kind of like sh1t, but in a 'good' way.
(and yes that does sound kind of silly, but the best way i can describe it! )

Yes, I can see ‘em now - nice! That first pheno does look quite frosty. Please report back on how they smoke. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks brother! The good looks and vigor are due to VG’s great work. Beautiful plants with good to excellent vigor to be found in his offerings, but I don’t need to tell you that. :) (It’ll be a sad day when my jar of BDB #2 is empty) I am bummed that you didn’t kick yours off. I had read that you were gonna start them and was expecting you to pop in soon with a progress report and when I saw you’d posted, thought this was it, lol. Look forward to your updates when you do!

It had been some time since I read through this thread and was just backtracking a bit... man oh man, if I can do these half the justice Keif Stoned did ‘em, I will be stoked. Loved reading that he wished he’d vegged longer because they stretched very little. Now I am just debating whether I should follow his lead and flower in 5g instead of 3g containers...

Not silly at all, and sweaty socks is an apt descriptor! And a good thing, lol. Can't imagine what flowering is going to bring! The real fun is not too far around the corner now. :tiphat:

Yea bro I had some bug issues last run and decided to clean everything and start fresh... Wasnt so sure how sucessfull it would come out but it seems the fuckers are gone! So def gonna pop them next run. I opted to run a few of the Bodhi 88g13 chem (HPD and Chem Kesey) crosses instead... Hopefully Ill find a keeper or two and on my next run pick a nice C4DD and hit them ladies with some cum shots from my best dude!

Ill be following your progress up close tho, so at least I get to experience them through you this round! :)
