Hi Verdant,
Just want to check up on the age of the seeds(C4DD) currently on the bay. Do you feel the pop-rate will still be OK?

Love the hard work thats gone into them.

Peace.

hi WR, the C4DD seeds are between a year and two years old, and i store all my seeds in the freezer, so they should be at their best still (germination rates actually increase for the first year or two from what i read recently)
no reports of bad germination

if stored well cannabis seeds should be fine for 10-20 years at least

thanks

hi guys, ive just sent 21 packs of C4DD to seedbay, and these will be the LAST of these seeds i can send in their current form, i also no longer hold the male that was kindly give to me by herbalizer for the project - so cannot make more seeds. if you want to get hold of them then do so whilst it is still available - hopefully they will arrive safely and be listed up asap
i have plans to take this line further by inbreeding some selected C4DD plants and making F2's of what is essentially a Bx of the Chem D cut with Chem 4 as the outcross. this may give a little more variation but stay firmly withing the chem profile. the proof of the pudding is in the eating though so lets see how it turns out!

Hi there VG,
I plan on getting a pack of your c4dd but I have a question. A few grows of it report fruity smells. One even said sickly sweet. Im not opposed to fruity weed but I just want to have a pack with some straight chem in there. I dont care if theres a few fruity phenos in a pack. I grew rez chem sour outdoors a few years back and i had 3 diesel leaners that all had a little sweetness to them and I had 2 chem d phenos that were straight garlic armpit dank herb. So i just wanna know if I grew a pack out would I find some straight non fruity dank phenos?

hey LD, i grew out 3 or 4 girls of this a while back and i didnt fine anything fruity in there at all, it was mostly straight Chem just like the D clone , with perhaps a diesel- like edge to one of the plants -
so yeah there is plenty of straight chem in there!

Thats what I like to hear! I figured with a cross like C4DD theres gotta be some straight stinkers in a pack, just wanted to hear it from the man himself. Hope you keep makin seeds. I like the stuff you work with. Bubba, chem. Cant go wrong. how bout a bubba chem D cross. Would be killer. Either way thanks for the quick reply. Take care.

hey bobbo

the C4DD seeds have run out (although i need to double check the vault to make sure there aren't a few more to spare)
my intention is to do some work on the line, i need to make some selections and then inbreed it for a generation. Being essentially a Chem D back-cross, the 'F2' generation should show more variation - but with the majority of the traits coming from the D rather than the Chem4. i prefer this idea to simply making 'another' bx to the D which, from my reading and research, may cause problems down the line.

so hopefully later this year

cheers

Thanks for getting back to me VG. So the strains you have available at the moment are the ones from Breeder's Retail, nothing Chem or maybe Diesel?

hi again bobbo, yes, all the ones at breeders retail are the same ones that are available on seedbay - although i dont think seedbay have listed the LTDC x bubba i sent them yet.

will have to get my skates on and sort out this C4DD project!

Good morning VG!,
I see, yeah I love me some Chem for sure! Just acquired the Chem 4 a couple months ago but could always use more.

Thanks again!

Hello VG,

Wanted to put up some pics of my C4DD grow that I have in early veg, almost 3 weeks from start. These beans were from a group released in about 2013 I believe. Looks like a couple might have some signs of leaf variegation that you mentioned earlier in the thread. It might just be that my seedling mix is a little hot maybe. I have 8 of these underway and hopefully will see something special from this group.

#7 seems to be the most affected with a couple others to a lesser degree. It looks like it's going away in the most recent growth, so maybe not a problem at all. I've heard of it before and was never sure if the effects were only cosmetic or if it caused a bigger problem. Not really a concern for me if it's only a matter of appearance.

hi keif, thanks for posting those - nice!
the leaf streak as far as i can see looks like the Chem D streak, i would say the colour of your plants is the perfect green, not too dark, so i doubt your mix is too hot.

the streak can be reduced, it seems, by using extra magnesium, but tbh i think that may lead to a risk of reducing the smoking quality of the buds if its overdone. nowadays i tend to live with the streak as long as the rest of the plant looks happy. If the plan is happy in veg then it's just the odd leaf affected
The very best chem buds i grew were on a plant that exhibited the worst streak! so yeah best to ignore it if its just the odd leaf here and there... and dont worry if it gets worse in mid-late flower.
