Thanks BrainSellz, luvaduck & scoobie. At the moment this plot is getting 9-10 hours direct sun, 14-15 sunlight hours in total. Most of these plants were germinated at the end of August, some at the end of September, some at the end of October. I always plant according to a Moon calendar, so usually in the fortnight leading up to the full moon, with some astrological variations according to the chart. I'm not into astrology, but for planting it really seems to make a difference.

Hi

Bushweed I agree with you about the importance of growing according the Moon cycle.

There is a town in Mexico called Valle de Santiago, where some people have an astrological knowledge that allow them to grow giant vegetables.

The method is leave the "seed" in full Sun light until it turns green. Later they plant it at the morning (between the dawn until the Sun rises at the highest point in the sky). It its better to plant in full Moon. And it is very important don't water until the third day.

This method is only for growing potatoes, garlic, onions, and vegetables that propagate from tubers or bulbs. For seed plant as cannabis there is another method that sadly I don't know.

I am trying it with garlics and potatoes.

bushweed your plants are amazing mate :) I was so inspired I went back and re-read your thread from the start trying to figure out your trick for monsters... and all I could come up with is 1.5 meter holes and cow shit... if that all you do for what you get... then next year my one foot holes are deff going to be 1.5 meter holes :)

much respect mate bring em home for a harvest show im sure every aussie wants to see :)

Hi shroomy, well mate I started with 1.5 meter wide, 50cm deep holes, but have since dug around the bases until they are all 2-3 meters. I initially dug 20-30 kgs of cowshit in each hole because it is low reactive and close at hand. I didn't dig the holes early enough over winter to initially put in chicken, horse and sheep shit, which is possibly better. But I have since dug in chicken manure & dynamic lifter outside the dripline so the plants don't get burnt.

Also dolomite (lime) and possibly gypsum (for clay) are essential for correct soil prep.

I have been liquid fertilising with Seasol seaweed, as well as a 10% human urine solution:) fortnightly, and also peacock shit tea, which is just what I have on hand.

I have also recently added potassium for the heads

So I recommend digging 2-3 meter wide holes, half to a meter deep, at least 3 months before planting with lime and copious amounts of chicken, cow, horse and sheep manure. 10% urine fixes nitrogen. Seasol seaweed liquid seems an invaluable all round fertiliser, and then potash or potassium for the flowers.

Now if I had of dug holes earlier with that combo of manures, and had 14 hours direct sun instead of 9-10, (coupled with the natural advantage I have - rich volcanic soil), I might be competing with the likes of Kangativa, Gundawindi, Tom Hill and Humboldtlocal....

But then if the dog hadn't have stopped for a shit he would have won the race...:)

Hope this helps mate.

Indeed, this flowerless branch is interesting :) And it comes to show the "locality" of flowering hormones - they don't travel far and the big branch seems to be big enough to have its own flowering cycle.
