Get to 50 posts and pms could help.
Do you have a source for local seeds? I would think that a focus on local varieties would be more beneficial and awesome for the sake of study and preservation, rather than using RSC or others for highland Nepali strains/african/central or south american or from other geographic locations. I love RSC (real seed company), and some strains could suite the environment well (in addition to tropical seeds, ace, cannabiogen). I would love to see some local strains bred for study if possible... best of luck, hope one isn't looking just for free seeds as I'm an optimist and pessimist wrapped into one.

Anyone would want free seeds LOL but anyone who has a heart big enough to help in such a way, credit is due where credit is due.....I have some sources but there is no way to prove purity, this is the issue.

Hi shaheed
I was in the caribean last autum, including jamaica, st lucia, domenica and st vincent and the grenadines. I have smoked a lot and tried to sample as much different strains as possible.

I'm a sativa fan and was a little disappointed from the hundreds of hybrides that i got in jam.
In the rest of my journey the weed was for me more landrace style, what i liked.
St lucia had the only real 100% sativa i smoked in the caribean. Looked not good, a lot of small leafs and tiny seeds but that weed was amazing.
If you have connections to st. Lucia, especially castries try to get some strains from there.
From the other side of the globe i can recommend cambodia as a source of nice sativas. That weed was like smoking coffee:biggrin:

Salut Shaheed,

Best of luck with your project man, with patience and spreadin the vibes around the island, trying to educate growers and smokers, step by step with time your dreams can come true. I think the key is also spiritual so you have to connect the true Rastaz and free yourself from ego and the bad grip of money, make it virtuous for all. All is possible no problem.

Jamaica is a great place to create new sativa diva cultivars. I would recommend hybrids of Lambsbread with African old strains first, Ethiopia highland is the best choice to connect Jah imho. South Indian old strain like Kerala is another good choice. You also can create lot of hybrids Lambsbread x Carribean strains, Gwada Fil rouge, St Lucia, Haïti ect... Have to connect all the Rastas from all the islands.

Peace wadada!

It is a bit sad, but I have no clue about Caribbean native strains, didn't know there were any. Do you have any information about them?

Now you know bro and will find informations with time, love and research... Not easy for sure but ICmag is the place!
Also Chilliwilli's St Lucia suggestion is a good start to learn and study, in real on the spot i mean. :) Bon voyage!

Check out Red Riders thread, vintage colombian. Back in the 70's and 80's I believe they were raving about colombian cannabis and you may be able to collect some jems from there that would also work for you. When you have 50 posts try messaging Charlie Garcia, I am sure he will have some information for you in regards to some of these varieties.

Its all to easy to be misunderstood or not understand on these damn sticky interwebs, I gotcha now though, its all good!

I'm glad to hear you are not limiting yourself to landraces and already have some local cultivars that you work with. They sounds like good plants, do you like the effects and aromas?

Farmers world wide now have the ability to connect, preserve, and promote ganja and what it represents in the manner that those who have come before us and laid our foundations could not have imagined. This very discussion and site is proof positive of that!

Jamaica has the ability to be the Jamaica of Ganja! You are already revered as a cannabis enlightening center(besides Baghdad is to close to Babylon :)), the roots are deep you just have to live it now, heal the nation, lead the way!

Though your gov has its detractors, from what Ive seen, you have some of the best regs to start with, obviously not without issue but a good place to start when comparing to others licensing and regulatory burdens/captures, no shortage of potential!

I believe you misunderstand me Pangea, I am not exclusively hunting Landraces, I am also hunting what works. We have found NLDs here in Jamaica that are not "Lambsbread" but beautiful, high yielding "Sativas" with long, hanging, heavily serrated, lime green leaves. Some with a tight bud structure and some with more open buds, but with large pronounced calyxes, all varieties heavily trichome laden. It's not me trying to be a snob or some kind of poser, but rather to test a hypothesis and get people's opinion at the same time.....I am largely at fault too, I simply did not articulate my goals in a sensible fashion and for that I apologise to the entire ICMag forum. Please, let us work together to preserve a plant we love and need. Jamaica has the ability to be the Baghdad of Ganja (even though the government seems not to want it). Pangea we can figure out how I can get you to see a letter I and the winner of the first Jamaica Cannabis Cup wrote to the executives of the Cannabis Licensing Authority....we know the issues, we want to work with intelligent people to work this ridiculous issues out.....waddaya all say?

I am really curious about "Blue Mountain Weed". If you get any info about that Jamaican landrace please let me know. There still might be some in the mountains there, but now there are mostly imported hybreds I think. Thanks

My first batch of Jamaican Narrow Leaf Drug type were from a farmer that had been preserving them since 1976. He has not introduced any outside genetics to that pool since then. Soon be back up again in terms of germinating seeds.

I have had some guys from St Anne's tell me before that they have the sativas in the mountains of st annes, which you have likely heard as well as many more I'm sure, all they told me is if I go to Jamaica to smoke to go to st annes and go to the mountains, they suggested I go with them of course so it could be a money deal but I believe them to be honest. Looking forward to see your new crops.

Thanks for sharing, a lot of the video had no audio and some oddly timed commercials but still a lot to appreciate.

Kinda odd to hear the Timeless guy wants to be super medical and is touting teaming up with O.Pen vape dudes.

Hopefully next conference there is a ton of licences issued!
