ok i figured i would need new drivers to run the new xml 2's but i can run xpg no problem you say? The ones i see on rapidled are 5 watt i believe and i'm going solderless as I feel it will be easier (yes im a tad bit lazy lol)

to add to that , on the side of the driver in my unit it say 1420ma, and i know the voltage is 32 at the lowest but the driver from rapidled says 1750ma and 9-34 so i thought maybe it was close enough...

If you build your own, and do it properly, LEDs are hard to beat.
And yes, dynamic spectral shift is just one of their advantages.
I have a dimmer on my reds.
Turn the red down for clones, and veggers.
Crank it up for flower.
Works a treat!

so as a rough estimate, what would it cost to build (needing to get tools and everything) a led that utilized 500-600w?
Might give you a very rough estimate.
My 180 Watt array was app. $300 -$400.
But don't rely on it.
It's been a long time since I built my last one and the 15Watt 660nm. leds are no longer available last I checked.
Mo' betta ask someone who has built one lately, yah
These guys are trying to use White light leds for growing.
Can't figure out why.
I see no advantage to it.
Seems a very expensive way to grow.
I use LEDS because we pay ~$.40 per Kwh here.
Plants use certain frequencies more efficiently that others.
It take a lot more photons of green light, than it does of red light to grow a large bush.
So, with just red and blue at 180 Watts., I get the same results as a 400 Watt HPS for less than half the power cost per harvest.
A lot less heat too.
So, no cooling cost.
Anyroad, that's why I do what I do.

-were not trying.. were doing
-purple is not a fun color to work under.. have heard it gave some people vertigo at NASA..
-plants do use more then red / blue.. yes you can grow a plant with red and blue though
-expensive is up to the individual to define for themself
we could go start comparing anything and everything to anything and everything, but I guess an easier way is to build what you want.
I myself run both. I never lean this way or that way..

I look up to you a lot weeze, thank you for taking the time. Are there any 'real' 50w led bulbs out yet? And, I would want to use 300-600w in flowering fwiw.

In my personal opinion, price is not a concern anymore when talking about DIY LEDs for personal consumption. You can build arrays that emit enough light for a decent yield with less than 0.2$/W (using cheap Chines multichip leds) or you can go with more efficient CREE diodes.
