Bubblehash with an Ultrasonic Toothbrush

vibration sounds like the next direction for ice hashing....but surely one single electric toothbrush is not enough...wouldn't you need to use 6 or 12 electric toothbrushes at the same time for it to be effective time and yield wise?....or even better, a larger vibrating unit?

Ideally you would want like a large ultra sonic cleaner. I checked into it last year and for one it's just really expensive. You would not be able to use ice because it would block and break up the waves too much. You couldnot have your trim in a bag either. If i had a grand for a good sized cleaner. I would install a drain valve, put almost freezing water in it, drop the trim in, turn it on for about 15-30 min, turn it off, let the trichomes settle for a few min, then drain it through a set of bags. I still think you will have to stir the material slighly though to expose it to the waves because ultra sonics don't penetrate material well due to the wavelength.

this one has a drain and a 15 min timer and it's ONLY 793 pounds but it's only .73 gal (30 L).

seriously though, if you are making ice hash for yourself and purity is your aim, then forget about drills, beaters, tooth brushes, ultra sonic dildos, Ilife's collection of resin encrusted vibrators and other assorted weapons of mass green matter destruction......instead use a combination of lots of ice, elbow grease and a large wooden spoon or stick..it's not easier or as efficient in terms of time, effort or quantity, but with all things being equal, it will give you a cleaner hash than by using electricity or metal....and it gives you a workout and it feels good when you stop (I'm talking about manually stirring with a stick here, not ilife's dildos).

Why use a wooden spoon that is porous? Try a long plastic spoon, nicer on your plant material and your hands. XXX Tractor used to sell some really nice ones. Photo upload is down otherwise I would post the one I have for you, Chamba.

You can use a bag, I'm not sure about ice but it probably won't be needed.

I remember years back when OG started getting big someone thought of this and used an ultrasonic cleaner for jewelry, some drapes to act as a filter and some tupperware to hold th herb in.

The person got the trichomes and they were pure at least as much as he can filter using drapes but he showed that it can work.

He didn't use water to knock off the tirchomes and they still came off. Using ultrasonic waves would make it easier to get pure trichomes quicker because the water acts as a force and knocks the trichomes of the stalk but because it is so light the plant matter won't break apart and dilute the hash.

You also won't lose much flavor if you put the water in cold as possible as well as not turn up the wave frequency too much and leave the plant in the cleaner for about 5 minutes. This ensures the trichomes get cold enough to become brittle to be knocked off as well as prevent any or very little water soluble terpenes from leaking out the trichomes which means more flavor.

So this will get you more trichomes, very little flavor lost if any, as well as as being very fast at extracting the trichomes. The only thing is you would need something to keep the herb under the water for maximum effects but putting ice on top should help do this.

so it seems the dry trim wasn't the best trim i ever had either way. still the results are exceptionaly fine looking, very light in color from the get go. but dry trim means dry trichs which means smaller trichs hence my 190 bag was practicly empty, not that its any great loss, just interesting to note. the 160 has something but again not much really. even the 120 ends up light, the 73 and 45 are the two nicest looking sizes in this batch the 25 looks ok too, very dark.

once again the question that begs;

Do we have FMCD chief?

i have no idea only the smoke test will tell, lol.

Does this mean you didn't get any resin glands because I don't see any pictures?

Also, I don't see how it would matter if ice is in the mix due to the water underneath the plant material would still have waves being created.

Maybe putting the ice ON TOP of the herb would be better because more plant matter would be deep into the water which means more contact with the waves.

hes got the right idea. sonicators come in all shapes and sizes. some are sold as baths, some are sold as "wand" type instruments that you can submerge in any vessel you would like. many have different intensity levels. most are horrendously expensive. if you want to buy something like this, you want to buy something that is NOT made for a lab. lab shit carries a high premium.

their use in cannabis extraction is as a method of completely pulverizing and penetrating the plant cells. sonicators FUCK SHIT UP on a microscopic level. that is one thing to worry about. strong sonicators will create too much small plant material that will contaminate your hash.

they also help dissolve anything that can be dissolved. every try dissolving C60 in dichloromethane? doesnt work. but a sonicator will at least dissolve SOME of it.

Read this thread.
My question is: Is so frsh frozen trim is better than trim that dried ?

Because the wet trim trichomes are bigger, fatter, etc.
Versus dry trim that is dryed out and thus smaller trich's , and being smaller slip thru the screens like 120 0r 90 vs 74 right?

Also, does wet/dry have better flavor and color and less cholorply making it brown- tan not green or lime colored BH etc.?

Just cut sugar leafs and buds put in the freezer. No drying time at all, right?
Also, do you use a tray to lay them out evenly or zip them up in a plastic bag?
How long does it takes to freeze a few hours overnight, right?
