hey everyone, i just have a few questions how far should my stem tips be from the water should they be in it or outta it and should i change the water at all thanx any help will be appreciatd

In short bro it doesnt matter if your stems are in the water or just above it. I usually put the water level just above the stems to start with and leave it alone. I come back a week later and the water level has gone down oh well, its still good.

I think that everyone has answered your question. Have you considered a humidome for the top of the bubbler?

Last run I had about 40 cuttings in my bubble cloner ranging from 3-4" long and just touching the surface of the water to 6-8" long and a couple inches below the surface of the water.

All the cuttings rooted at the same time, about 7-10 days.

yep thats fine, as long as there are enough lumens getting to the leaves to light up the photo receptors and let the plant know it's not nighttime.

any r.h. over 60% is good
temps on the leaves over 70 under 80
water 72-78

peace n good luck

Your water temp can be alot cooler than that. I have too much stem rot when the temps are warm. I root at about 55 to 60F with 100% success. It takes about a 2 weeks for them to pop roots....but I don't have to use electricity to keep the water temp up either.

Yep, lower temps. I keep mine about 65-72F.

And no need at all for a dome on a bubble cloner. Just drop 'em in and go.

Is this a homeade bubble cloner or a manufactured one. Sounds like homeade to me because most of the sold ones I have seen use the mini net pots. At least mine does and it has a max water line that never touches the cuts. It has a pump and a spinner that sprays the cuts constantly.

Change the water at least every 2 days.

Water temp could be kept down by placing some plastic ice cubes in there. Plastic ice cubes are a novelty, usually a star or some such plastic enclosure with water in it. Freeze them and drop a couple in the water, rotating them out every day or so.

how do you keep the temps down may i ask. thanks in advance

I've only been using my bubble cloner for a few runs now and it's been cool outside and the ambient temps in the clone area were about 70-75 so the cloner res was right around there, a tad lower than ambient usually. I experimented with *raising* the temp, but haven't been forced to lower it, yet. Not sure how you'd do that.

When I experimented with raising the temp, the cuts rooted a couple days quicker, but I lost more to rot and the res was coated in slime after two weeks. You could probably avoid that by changing the water every five days or so, but to me it defeated the purpose of a bubble cloner- easy and almost zero maintenance.

Mr. Mo, are you talking about an aero cloner? They work a little differently than a bubble cloner. Similar, but still diff.

I don't change the water at all untill I want to add another batch of clones. Use straight tap water. The clorine helps fight off problems early on. I don't have to bring the temps down, the water just stays around 55 -60F by keeping it close to the basement floor.

Mr.Mo-you got an aero cloner.water is sprayed with mister using a pump just like you said.

Hey I dont change out the water either just tap water and a drop of superthrive. I like keeping them in the water but sometimes the stems bend out of the water but they root anyway. you dont need the dome but I doubt it will hurt. I just have mine under a 22w CFL bulb. Like people said they will root in 7-10 days the begining of them anyway. I dont really check my temps so I can't help, sorry. Good Luck

Howdy, everyone. I don't change my water and also use straight tap. I just had to change my water when I experimented with temps closer to 80F.
Budfather, I'm not all trying to tell ya what to do, but just wanted to say that I don't use a dome and my RH is 20-25% in the veg area. IMO, it's unnecessary, but like med420 said, probably wouldn't hurt anything.
