Nice heads up Verdant- is there much variation in your s1s or is it pretty damn consistent across the board?

I can comment on my experience... Popped 5 beans, 4 survived and they were all very similar with just minor variation in odor. Structure was identical across the board for me with one growing maybe 5% faster than the other 3 . It's a small sample size I know but hope this helps.

Recently sourced a cut of suge knight pure kush. It is the exact same herb as the cut that was being passed around years ago as la pure kush/puss kush. Higher yielding, milder bubba that gets dark. Kind of like the las vegas purple kush. Also have the socal master kush. Very much prefer that one over the pre98. The pre98 has a coffee smell and the socal doesn't, it's pretty easy to tell the difference. The socal is closer to the katsu than anything. If I was going to choose one bubba out of what I've tried, it be socal master.

as zelena says, they are all pretty consistent. they all pretty much smell like bubba too with subtle variations. one of the S1s i grew has the 'cheese' terpene along with the usual bubba funk which was interesting.

the similarity of the S1s pretty much points towards bubba being a line rather than a cross imo. i'd say an old afghani line myself

It really is a true breeding and dominant line for sure, no matter its lineage.
It reminds me of the purple kush that's dominating the commercial market over here in alberta.

They seem to be related almost like cousins or something, they share many of the same traits imo.

yeah ive got the Purple Kush. im pretty sure its the Las vegas. it seems to have some of the terpenes the same as the bubba and a lot of other similarities(although different in others). PK has a bigger stretch.

I did a fem cross of PK x Bubba Kush, just got the first seedlings up.

Hey VG or anyone that's ran a pre98 i'm looking for a little help identifying this girl.Picked her up in SoCal as magic kush(a kush cross) and the taste and high was phenomenal!Growing her out now(Day 30) and i think she looks alot like some of the bubbas shown and smells just how pre98 is described roasted(almost burnt) coffee beans,mocha, a little zest(almost spicy),earthy and kushy.Any feed back is greatly appreciated.

ggt your plant certainly looks similar to bubba but there are some differences in leaf shape etc. looks like a nice cut you have there though..

i did a fem cross of my pre-98 bubba with the Las Vegas Purple Kush. i have always suspected that these two are related anyway. It came out looking rather nice

Thanks VG,gonna post day 35 pics on monday and she is really coming into her own.I was told it was a kush cross and after tasting her and now growing her she is everything that people describe as pre98 from flavor to smell.Gonna grab a pack of your S1's and the pkxpre98 also so i should be rolling in good bubba soon.

How are you guys getting bigger yields of the pre98? Im guessing bigger pots(ie larger than 5 gals)?

I always get rediculous beautiful results with her but not so great on the yeild...~.5 Something with roots hitting edges of container and slowing down?

Anyone run her in RDWC system? was thinking about giving her a go in there instead of organic.

That one that I showed was veg'd for a year under flouro and topped about 1000x.

Long veg is a must because Bubba does't stretch very much.
