I think mike is going to use walt to cook up and get some money and then try to off him to keep him from getting him jammed up with the police. That's why walt was buying those guns in the trunk in the first episode.

When the Dea boss talked about having Gus at his house and he never thought that he could be a drug kingpin under his nose... did anybody see the lightbulb going on in Hank's head. He knows about Walter.
The German was awful, thy could have used native speakers for the scenes.

How disappointing, it's so obvious that the show was supposed to be done last season.

Everything is now contrived and everyone is behaving out of character from the last 4 seasons.

I'll still watch, but IMO they F'ed up by taking the money and coming back for a fifth season.
The "I won" ending was such an epic conclusion to an epic series, it's shame they had to tarnish it with this new crap.

When I say crap, I mean that while still well written and entertaining, it's clear they went back and thought, how can we write another season on a series that was all wrapped up at the end of the last.

Of course they did, I never wanted it to end.

BUT, vince said right from the start that he had an ending planned, and was going to stick with it.
He himself said at the end of the last season that he had no idea where they were going to go with the fifth, and it shows.
You have to admit that these current plot lines are obviously an afterthought to last seasons ending.

It was wrapped, but now no one has any money, and some woman we've never seen or heard of before pops up, as well as the "secret" german partners.

It was gus, walt, and the cartel, period, nobody heard anything about any of this fifth season convoluted crap during the first 4 seasons.

Like I said, great show and I will watch every second of everything they put out, even if it's another 20 seasons.

But I still wish they would have left well enough alone, and stuck with the epic end of an epic series that we saw last year.

Can't agree with this at all. This show has an arc that doesn't end until Walt has completely "Broken Bad," and we're not there yet. It happens as he becomes the boss in this season as they'd planned all along. In fact, they planned on 2 more seasons at least, but were fucked with by AMC when it came time to re-negotiate and compressed them into this long season we are watching now.

Vince Gilligan has spoken about this from the beginning, so there is just no way I can believe he had at one point intended to end it with Walt some hero who defeats the big bad meth-bossman and saves his family & friend.

OMG, I guess I will have to go back a few years and find his early quotes about the show.

Walt already did "break bad" I mean come on, what else do you want?

Killed what? 6, 7, more people himself already? Poison a kid, play all other people in his life like chess pieces, etc....
He broke bad, played it like a game of chess, and won big time.
It was perfect, and now this fifth season BS.

You disagree with me that this was all thought up after the fact?
The new woman, German partners, everyone broke, etc....

Hell yes it is, I'm glad someone else can see it for what it is.

I'm not dumping on the show, and I can assure you there is no bigger fan then me.

But it was done last year.

He basically raped his own wife in the last episode - we're just seeing him really become truly evil, and that's always been the intention.

All those things you mentioned, he did for good reasons, or so he thought. Even poisoning the kid, he did with care and precision. Fighting a man who threatened to kill his family, and saving his friend by keeping him at the hospital where he was somewhat safe.

Now Walt just wants money and power. It's gonna get worse, for sure.

As for this season's plot line & characters - we know they didn't start writing it until the last season was done, as was done with all the previous seasons.

All this talk about cash-grabs is ridiculous... If that was all everyone involved wanted, they would have signed everybody for 5 more seasons and popped the bottles. Instead the producers of the show/Gilligan FOUGHT to get the 1 additional season when they wanted at least 2, and could have prolly ran to another network for an even bigger payday assuming they were really willing to do that many more seasons.

Walt doesn't have the cash he went through hell for, Hank still hasn't figured it all out...I wouldn't say season 4 wrapped it all up.

I'm stoked there is a season 5. Its seriously the only regular show I watch on tv; everything else is sports. I doubt the rest of the series will be as good as the finale of season 4, but its still far better than the rest of the crap out there. What else are you going to watch, Weeds?
