Breaking Bad

Well, I managed to contain myself. I stayed out if this thread and I have just got done watching it.
What an anti-climax. I really thought there would be an explosion. either the lab, or something else.
I'm just watching the episode of Talking Bad relating to "Ozymandias" and the guest nailed what the Ricin was for. She deserved it...I mean really, who the fuck has Soya milk, or indeed any milk in Chamomile tea?
It was fairly obvious what Walt was building, but it was good to see it in action.
I had a feeling that the red dots were just a couple of dudes with laser pens, but I am surprised that Gretchen is alive.
It was nice that Badger, and skinny Pete got in on the last episode, they provided some great moments throughout the series.
Seeing Jesse throttle the life out of Todd was satisfying, especially that crunch at the end of it.

I almost thought Walt was going to give his super-meth a try when he was caressing the lab. I really thought he would go out with a bang, but his death worked out well.

Time to cancel the Netflix methinks.

To me, it seems as though Walt died in the perfect way. As he caressed his "mistress of metal", and smiled that dubious smile.....he died next to the one that made him "feel alive."

So...Walt's birthday was also his deathday (his last breakfast at that diner, he was playing with his bacon again and mentioned to the waitress that it was his birthday). Any significance in that? I can't figure out the significance myself...but, it would be a big coincidence that Gilligan would put that into the story line if there wasn't any importance to it.

Any thoughts?

There has to be symbolism here. He still arranged the bacon like Skylar would have. He was by himself and im not sure how it all adds up.

Maybe it's there to show how his family life deterriorated over the years. Skyler used to arrange the bacon. If i remember right, on his previous birthday, she didn't do it and Junior kicked up a song and dance about it. This year, he knows his death is imminent, he's eating breakfast alone in a cafe, with only a happy birthday from the waitress.

Or maybe not.

I was so hoping Hugo was gonna pop out from behind Walt's unabomber shack and stab him in the neck with a sharpened mop handle and say, "I cleaned up your vomit and gave you gum, Mr. White" as he lie there spurting blood from his jugular. It really bothered me during the whole series that Walt never made it right with Hugo. He could've at least dropped off a briefcase or two of cash to him towards the end.

Well, as tantalizing as the alternative endings look, I for one am a VERY happy viewer! I couldn't have asked for a better ending than the one presented. Walt got some twisted form of redemption, as much as one could hope for after what happened to Hank, Jessie, Walt's family, et al.. I mean the list of dirty deeds goes on and on. Jesse got his somewhat deserved freedom because let's face it, he was NO angel himself. And Jesse twisting Todd's borderline retarded ass up like a pretzel?? Icing on the cake :) I only WISH Uncle Nazi's deplorable ass could have been made to suffer more lol. But then it wouldn't have been quite the finale that it was, could it?! Looking forward to Better call Saul or whatever they'll call it!! :thank you: :woohoo: :tiphat:

imo, it is a very complex subject... on the one hand, if Walt had chosen to take it easy after he got fired from the school and found out he had cancer, he would have been angry and sour over the whole deal, probably also damaging his relationship with his family out of frustration and fear for their future after he was gone.

so he chose what he chose, and at least found a way to leave Jr. some dough through the couple of stuck-up lying assholes.

both choices would result in his death and family deterioration, however, only one would leave him satisfied with himself as well as giving him the assurance his family would be taken care of.

more or less...
