Update Day 27

Update Day 27

Back for an update, its now day 27 of veg. I transplanted to larger pots using FF Ocean Forest and the plants look so much happier. That said I still feel like for some reason my growth is extremely slow for almost 4 weeks of 18/6 light.
Here are the pics:

I was thinking of using some superthrive on my next watering which will be in 2-3 days, any words of wisdom?

Plants are looking good there are now 6 in the cab, and I topped the two big ones. A couple more weeks for them to branch out from there and for the 4 little babies to grow a couple sets of leaves then off into flowering. :woohoo: Thats when the real fun starts :woohoo:

they are a little small for that amount of time but problems early on can really stunt their growth and prolong the veg a good bit. they are lookin great though and you should notice a lot of growth over the next few weeks.

Update update update, since that last watering of Superthrive they have taken off. Here are the pics:
Sativa-ish plant:

Indica-ish

So I'm limited in space and I know the plants can strech alot during flowering, my question is whether I should start flowering now or should I try to do some LST first. Is it possible to bend it over and then start flowering and keep on LSTing while I flower? I currently have 5 plants in my cabinet, these 2 and then 3 seedlings that I started incase these turn male, or if I have room for a couple of 12/12 from seed plants.
The bit of Superthrive I fed the big girls (hopefully :yummy: ) seemed to make them really take off, the leaves are so much bigger now, and they are starting to smell. Any words of wisdom or thoughts?

Hey that's looking damn good! Not sure about LSTing in flowering cycle, but I do have some info that may help. When you do go into flowering there will be around a 1 week(+/- a few days) when the plant will stretch a lot. If you plan to keep LSTing that period of time would be best. After that week or so the stretching will pretty much halt and the plant will direct most of its nutrients to budsite development instead of growing toward the light.

Hey Brainboy - you are doing good here, it's nice seeing other micro growers. I too had, and to some extent still have, a heat issue. BOTH burnt plants went on to make slow progress but a full recovery - just a shame that one I nursed back to health was a boy so I had to smash his face in lol

Good luck - I'll keep dropping in :D

plants are lookin great man! they have definately turned around for ya! as for the LSTing, i would go ahead and start now before switching to 12/12. let some lower branches grow up and then make the switch. that sativa one will stretch a good bit so keep that in mind. and yes you can keep lsting during flower.

I have a question, I'm thinking I should repot again although I really don't want to. The plants are in 4" pots, I don't know how many gallons they are but im going to guess 1/2. I water about every 3rd day. The roots are starting to poke out the bottom right now, do I need to repot before flowering? I was planning on throwing them into flowering in the next day or so. Does root growth accelerate as the plant goes through stretching?

yes i would repot into atleast 1 gallon pots. you want the biggest pot possible to ensure the best yield. some people go by an oz of bud per gallon. you could also build your own pot to make the most use of your space. later.

I need some help on what I should be looking for to identify males and females. I decided to not repot because I just decided to trust my instinct. They sure are lookin perty. :)

balls = male

Are the balls visible to the bare eye? And how long does it take for them to go from just ballsacks to releasing pollen?

Well I think I have only one boy so far out of the 5 plants I have, I'm not quite sure it is male... looks like a little ball on a string sticking out from the node a little bigger then a poppy seed. Does that sound about right? I'm happy to say though that my best looking indica plant has.... drum roll.... WHITE HAIRS! Yaaay. The sativia doesn't seem to be showing any signs of sex yet... I have relatives around right now so its kind of been hard to tend to the plants, but I should be able to take some pictures on tuesday.

great news that is! glad you got a female to work with! yeah that sounds like a male for the other one. well atleast now you can double the pot size of the female and she will be very happy!

I'm not being a responsible poster in my grow journal hehehe. Everything is going fairly well so far. The Indica plant is absolutly beautiful, I really will try to take some pictures soon. There is some bad news, I have been finding a few nuts on my Indica, so far I've just been picking them my thought was to just keep trying to pick them and see how it goes. The other plants are progressing slowly the 12/12 from seed plant is female and has no nuts so far but hasn't developed as many pretty white hairs as the Indica. The Sativa is not doing so well, she is extremly long and weak feeling. I'm still waiting for her to show sex too... kinda weird to be 3 weeks into 12/12 and still no sign of sex right? Oh well hopefully in the next few days I will get around to some pictures. I think I'm going to pick up a vaporizor soon which is exciting. Smoke some bud :joint: .

The tinfoil light releflecters worked really well in two ways not only did they reflect all the light i wanted downwards they also worked as heat sinks to more quickly dissipate the heat from the balists.

Am I right in thinking I can expect to harvest in 3-4 weeks?
