Hi Boleman,

Looks like you've got some nice healthy growth there and props on your reservoir setup - very innovative. A couple Q's:

Do you feel the fixed PL-L lighting setup will affect your yield much? Normally I would expect folks to spread the lights out from each other a bit more, and make them adjustable vertically rather than affix them up top so the lights are always ~1-2" from the canopy.

Though perhaps pics are deceiving - with your tall reservoir, there's less vertical space above the pots than it appears, right? Maybe you can get away with it in that space...what are your thoughts?

Also, I've been growing with ScrOG since '00, and normally when I think of one, the screen clearance is ~8-12" from the pots, and all branches are trained horizontally during the stretch until the stretch is completely done; only then are the apical tips allowed to grow upwards through the screen.

You appear to have a very short (low) screen, and there seems to be little horizontal training other than just enough to spread some of the branches out a bit, which appears to be atypical for ScrOG. Is that done like that due more to the limited space available, or have you seen certain advantages to employing a screen like that?

Obviously more tips are 'above the screen' in that configuration so to speak, but with the longer branches you still have the type of shading comparable to a normal bush-style grow, no? Do you feel the PL-Ls are able to penetrate sufficiently into a canopy grown that way?

Thanks for your time. Very interesting, at any rate. Watching with interest!

Cheers,

Well, if you look at my first grow, I had 3 plants, and they were a little bigger. I could have vegged longer and completely filled the screen, but I decided to go with the Bonsai method. The main shaft of the stem was actually split a little bit when I pushed the screen that low. I am basically testing how low I can do the screen and still fill it at the same time. I wanted to go a quick yield this one and get some clones ready for the larger perpetual system I am concocting. The light penetrates all the way to the screen which is about 10 inches. Keep in mind that I do trim excess water leaf off the plants once a week to help that, but it doesn't seem to matter that much. The plants are 5 days or so into a 12-12 light schedule with full bloom nutrients. The one on the left is Mary Purpins, and the one on the right is Afgooey. I have the screen not filled due mostly to the fact that I cut a bunch of clones of each plant before the switch. I was going to go with five lights, but I got 2 ounces last time with 3 so I figured that I would leave it. I have done 2 grows in this little fridge and I have not had problems with light penetration and PL-L lights. They fill out nicely and grow very nice nuggies. Of course in my next setup I will be running CMH bulbs and a 5x5 row perpetual multi slotted switchable sump. Custom stuff, I build it myself. If you have any other questions, or I missed something... let me know.:smokeit:

The girls are the right distance from the lights now... hopefully they stop getting taller! I went to a collective the other day and found a nice bud called Mystic Kush, anyone heard of it? Because I found a nice seed in the nugget!

New nutes, and these girls are ready for another week of the flower cycle. A beautiful time with lots of hairs and daily changes in your buds that you can see. They are just jutting out their second set of hairs. I will have more pics from you when they thicken up a little bit.

I think Fuzzy Wuzzie was a Weed Bush!
Here is some more Mary purpins, getting roasted I might add on the lights of the setup...

Right now, It looks like there is a lot of stalk... I am hoping that it fills in nicely by the end of the cycle.
Here is the afgooey. It is looking nice as well...
picture.php
The gooey looks to be a dense girl at that!
Here is some more of her... mid stalk...

Aren't the chrystals already forming on the leaves at a week of budding a good sign?
Here is some more goo porn...

A great strain indeed she is.
Well, Here's a couple of shots of my plants growing into their own micro heavens, I hope you have liked the photo show thus far, and I hope you continue to watch. And let me know if you have any ideas that would help! Until next time... Peace!

please keep the updates coming! I'm very interested in watching them bulk out with all the fimming! After seeing your fim work I decided to try it myself on some veg plants that are in scrog training.

It has been a week, I have changed the water, and added another batch of full blown nutrients to it. They are not stretching anymore, and seem to be working only on hair production right now....

I can't complain about that, but I have had to tie down some of the taller branches, I already lost one top of a flower to the power of the 72watt PL-L lighting system.

Here is an example of how bright PL-Ls are, I can't see anything.

Here is a nice pic of the good old Dragon. You all remember him, the foo dog protector of my foggatronic grow.

Here we see Mary Purpins, looking rather like a fragle. Even the hairs have hairs! I dunno, either a Fragle or something from Dr. Seuss.

Aah Yes, The Dragon Having an orgy with the Goo Gone Wild.

The Dragon basking in the shade of the Canopy.

Another hot shot of Goo Gone Wild!

Boleman: That is some crazy growth since the last time I looked. Are you now using three bulbs? Can't tell it's too bright lol! I have some pll bulbs bumping too (been running for 4 months now). They are some amazing bulbs. I have followed all of your posts and I want to say you are a bad ass. The scrog looks perfect, even better than the last run.

I wish you luck my man,

thank you bro, hopefully it will be bountiful. I have a couple legal collectives in my town that would like to procure some of the cured flowers, as well as have allready procured clones of Mary Purpins, so you should be able to pick her up at the shops in a few months.

By the by, here are some pics from last week, sorry for the week delay in posts, been very busy running around taking care of business.
