Bodhi or Green Bodhi?

Bodhi is a respected breeder up in Canada. I have grown several of his strains with great success. He's been around for years. Green Bodhi is a breeder name I just came across on a Michigan Seed site. Are they in any way related? If not, it seems a little shitty to steal someone's name like that. Any info appreciated!

I think he is a seed bank out of Eugene Oregon. He is a little out there as he did a lot of psychedelic drugs growing up and as a military brat. He went to S. America and did the Shaman thing where he experimented with Aya and stuff. I don't know anything about the reliability of his seed bank though. I agree with you as I don't like him using almost the same name. I have used Bodhi gear for years now and when I stumbled across his name I was confused.

Bodhi is a very solid dude that will respond to direct emails if you have his email address. Super nice, understanding and an all around great guy. I have a solid amount of his work in the ole vault. Working on a mountain temple cross right now currently. I know less about Green Bodhi.

I wanted to chime in with my positive experience with Green Bodhi. I first came aware of his seeds in a post a few years ago similar to what started this thread .... who is Green Bodhi and is he the same as Bodhi? I was in the market for seeds at the time, so I checked him out. Seems his flagship strain at that time was Hazy Kush, which didn't interest me because while it got ok reviews it seemed to be nothing special, and also seemed to lean to the Kush side of the cross, which is not what I was looking for as I was mainly grow sativa leaning plants. A while later I came across a new feminized creation he had released of Hazy Kush crossed to a pure Laotian. This did interest me so I sprung for a pack.
This plant has turned out to be one of the top 2 or 3 hybrids in my collection. The Hazy Kush adds a calm, relaxed element to the high on top of which the Laotian adds energy and alertness. I do not care for hybrids in which the indica side comes on too strong, regardless of their potency.
I've only grown one plant so far. I have about 30 strains in my stash, so I don't use much of each during a typical year. My HK x Laotian is getting low though, so I'll be growing another soon.
I tried some yesterday. I ate about 0.25 g of decarbed buds, my new way of consuming pot rather than making brownies, and was satisfactorily high for over 6 hours. I think eating the buds directly creates a much more powerful effect than consuming edibles. Or else my tolerance has dramatically dropped as I age.

Thanks for sharing ! I also feel I appreciate the lower doses in cannabis that i am older. But at the same time when i get together with friends for a smoke I can outsmoke them all 🤣.

This plant from Green Bodhi is intriguing, is it a wild laotian landrace used or a worked version?
Cab you explain how you decarb flowers? This sounds very interesting

It was a landrace Laotian. I just checked his current seed selections that include several interesting Sativa crosses with his Hazy Kush. One in particular that caught my attention was a cross with Flying Dutchman's Voyager that is made up of Papua New Guinea Gold, an Afghan, and another interesting sativa that I can't recall. I've been following that strain off and on going way back. I'm not going to buy though because I've reached a point in my cannabis career in which I know I have enough seeds. It took years to get there though.
I use a decarboxilator from the Ardent company. The slide on the right shows it assembled. The slide on the far left shows the individual parts. You fill the aluminum cylinder with up to 3/4 oz of fresh pot, insert it into the heating chamber, place the rubber gasket on the top, screw on the plastic top on, and in about 1 and 3/4 hours the pot is ready to eat. The middle slide shows the dose of Irie's Golden Goat I consumed over 3 hours ago and I'm still flying, and likely will be for another 3 or more. BTW, Irie's version is very potent, perhaps reaching the 25 -30 % thc as it was advertised. A bit on the edgy side for me, for which it loses some points, but still a good strain I use regularly and will continue to grow.
I can't believe the difference in potency between edibles and raw pot. I've done some rough calculations that indicate an oz will last me as much as 8 or 9 weeks.
And Green Zenit, if I take just a little too much, I can start stumbling around and whitey out on my bed. I've become a light weight I'm afraid.

Thank you for the details, I had no idea this type of engine exist, that's interesting, I'd like to try eating straight flowers.

Green Bodhi aka Green Osho, all base desires, nothing temporal about the creep.
Hopmah is most likely GB himself.
That’s how he operates-beware!
He is a master manipulator

Care to expand? Would be more helpful to divulge how you come to know that Green Bodhi has so many bad qualities which also extend to his seed business? There are a lot of daft beefs between breeders and often growers side with the one breeder who's seeds they've decided to grow. That and the chinese whispers, he said, she said type stuff. Because statements like "He's a creep" doesn't mean anything to anyone but yourself, respectfully.

I'd wager that 1 in 5 surfers in the States are called Bodhi. It's quite a common name and nickname. I have also listened to bothe Bodhi and Green Bodhi on the very informative potcast. They know of each other and have no problem with each other. Here is the Green Bodhi episode where he details working friendships with many other reputable breeders.

It’s great to hear you’ve had success with Bodhi’s strains! As far as I know, Green Bodhi isn't related to Bodhi and might just be trying to ride on his name. It can be frustrating when breeders use similar names, especially when one has established a good reputation, so I totally get your concern!
