KB Cobras and 5.0s are for kids. Besides the GT-R is not a dragster, it's a track car. It just happens to be fast in a straight line.

2 /10ths faster then a small cobra on a tiny pully (reaction time would play a roll) 2/10s well worth the price of that GTR LMAO

I think the GT-R is probably one of the best cars out there right now but way out of my price range. If I won the lottery or something I'd look seriously at getting one but would probably lean towards a zippy luxury sedan. That being said something like a new GT 5.0 Mustang is doable and wouldn't be embarrassed driving it especially with a supercharger and some suspension tweaks.

The local shop here builds stangs that run 5's and 6's in 1/4mile called 10.5 outlaw. when u wanna lose some money go run one at your local track after u build your rice .Oh does that GTR handle 1200HP on its stock internals (03/04 cobra teskid blocks do) i doubt that GTR can lmao

one more thing those KB's and whipple in the vids were small pulleys 2.3in pulley LOL ,run a 3.8in pullied terminator be different story (See below)

Any mustang on a track really ? go race a Jack Roush stage 3 or higher around the track or Saleen S351 SC .


90,000$ on a stock 2011 GTR or 90,000$ spent on 03/04 Termi cobra (30,000$ car) plus 60k $ to build it . U tell me which will win ,enough said . U remind me of the z06 owners we put it to on a weekly basis . All that money and going no where fast. I would love to smoke ur GTRs ass in 1/4 mile then laugh at u and the money u spent.

I dont run hot laps on SCCA tracks ,if i do i get on a bike not 4 wheels.None the less bobby it is a beautiful car (GTR) .I could still build a stang for less then 90K and win any kinda race u wanna do

Between your lack of understanding punctuation, and ranting about modded dragsters, I am having a hard time deciphering a point to your posts.

The 2013 GT-R does 0-60 in 2.7 seconds, and runs 10s in the 1/4 STOCK. What does an 03 Cobra do stock? About 13?

The point is that the car does this off the showroom floor, in it's STOCK setup.

I am sure you know what that means right? It means that there is a warranty. Does your 8 second dragster have a warranty? Can you daily drive it? Can you drive it in the snow?

The GT-R is a car that can track faster than almost any car on the market, it has four seats and a trunk, it drives in the snow, and it gets around 25mpg when cruising. Could stroke a old 5.0 out to 347 or a 351 out to 408 or 427 and still be fraction of the cost and faster

This thread is about the GT-R, and not how cheaply someone can build a 10 second car. The point of the GT-R is to be a track car, it just happens to be a 10 second car stock.

If I wanted to build a cheap, reliable, 9-10 second car it would be a 240sx with a 2jz swap. It would also cost a lot less than the 20-30k you need for a Cobra build. I'd build this.

Mad props on the GT-R, bobby! I remember I was living in Miami when these were coming out. It wasn't even being sold in the US for 24-hours before someone in Miami already stole one and headed up I-95! LOL


Oh, and not trying to offend anyone...but American cars suck. Nothin' American build after '74 is even worth driving. You can buy the baddest vette and the roof is gonna blow off and the AC will break, and the knobs are cheap plastic shit from a Chevy Malibu or Aveo or some crap. The GT-R will still function in 10 years, your fancy schmancy wanna-be muscle car with 1950's suspension will be dead on the side of the road by then, warranty or not!
