I'm changing what I did. I'm going to pump it up to a ring running around the ceiling, and have 1/4" tubing coming down to each rack, with splits for each pot. The 1/2" tubing worked... but the bottom plants always get more water when the pumps kick off and gravity starts pulling all the water down... I'm looking to fix that.

make sure the rez is lower than the lowest dripper that way you dont accidentally siphon out your whole rez your first feed.

Hey Bobble, Nice grow and love your "Bobble Pods". I've been following your designs (and DHF's comments) Can't wait to see your "new" design.. Keeps getting better and better..

How'd the plastic bags work with the 5 gal root pots? I've built angled shelves w/rp's but when I water it is a mess. Seems they'll leak through the sides as well as the bottom on me (I'm a newbie so may be my lack of knowledge..)

You're an inspiration.

Check out the Detroit Craigslist for Ford Rangers... lol... And a friend of mine just gave me a good lead on a nice truck. Now I just need to find the money... Good luck to you. Maybe you want to fly out and drive a truck back?

I just gotta learn how to veg my plants and I'll be all set... lol... It's on now brother... I put the glass and ducting back on the hoods, hooked up a fan... and my veg tent is nice and bright. :D I put in the old 600w USHIO hps reds I had laying around. I have brand new USHIO MH blues on the way.

that would be an unfortunate accident, huh? lol... Will do.

Thanks dewd. I use a 15 gal trash bag around the #5 SP, I had to cut all sorts of holes in the bottom for water to drain ouit... and once the pots were in position I pulled the bag down so the tops of the bags were exposed to the air... So I think they worked well. Another thing you can do to stop the water from running through the bag is drip feed the plants, so everything you're giving them is absorbed, cause ur gonna feed them just enough this way... ideally anyway... You need to hook up some pump and stuff though...

I have new more expensive plans for the next pod... I don't think I'll repeat the racks, but rather run 2 different designs and see which wins.

I think this next run in the racks I'm not going to use trash bags around the pots. They should dry out faster that way... and I'm drip feeding my plants 1 minute at a time... so I'm not worried about water running everywhere.

Will do, I just got a new driving job so I will be on the road for 2 weeks and then off for a week, I kinda like that schedule and I only drive the Western 11, so I won't be in your area anymore ;-(.

After 90 day's I get bene's so I am pretty stoked since I've been well unemployed (although I work so hard at slinging weed it seems like a flipping full time job sometimes), for about 2 and half years except for the previous 3 months driving with the idiot that almost killed me.

I think I am going to wait and see if I can get a loan for a nice used truck in about 6 months or so. Bobble good luck on your pod by pod test and WE NEED MORE PICTURES!! THREADS W/O PICTURES ARE BORING!

(just kidding but I do love to see your buds)

Hate ta see yas deviate from a proven setup you designed differently , but hey.....it matters not .....if yas got a better way then give it to the world.......but.....

In many many yrs I`ve not seen anyone "get it " as fast as you have , and you`re being impatient instead of dialin/monocroppin yer setup and makin shit happen.....

If yas use bare bulbs , whether in horizontal or vertical setups yas gotta have everything covered in reflectix ta bounce lumens all round the rooms ftw.....

I ran flat ebb and flow buckets on the floor for over 5 yrs with bare bulbs and did 5 lbs outta 35 plants EVERY run , but I angled the ceilings and made the rooms their own air cooled reflectors once shit was dialed with my mex skunk hybrid.....

Heath`s racks I re-designed upped my yields with the same sized rooms and wattage by a lb , but it took 64 plants to do it......

I know you`ll make me proud bro , but just don`t get too impatient and down on yerself before yas find Nirvana and dialage with whatchas already spent buncha bucks on.....find the right bitch ta run and you`ll be amazed as long as yas keep everything hoonin with no critters involved.........

Now figure out howta get that truck.....Drove a 4 cylinder Ford Ranger extended cab for yrs flyin under the radar and looking practical....

Great minds think alike......was 60 miles from my farm to the city where setups and my office was......I liked the gas mileage and everybody thinkin I didn`t have a pot ta piss in or a place ta put it.......

Peace....Freds.....:ying:......

I'm not making any drastic changes Freds...

The veg tent just got it's wattage increased to 1200w instead of 250w. The plants are already looking happier.
The fogger decided to start working again... I was downstairs wiring up the lamp cords and it just kicked on... So until it fails again, I'll keep using it.

I do have the 64 plants for the monocrop... But they haven't taken off. I think the bump in wattage is gonna fix that problem. While they're vegging, I'm going to be cleaning and making a few changes to the pod with the racks.

I'm going to keep the racks, not changing that... but I've been thinking about how you put a shelf on each wall... and angled the corners. I was thinking about putting 5 2x4 flood tables on each wall in the other pod. 20 tables total, 4 #5 SP's each... From now on, I'm going to use a piece of landscape fabric for a top to stop the coco from falling out... So I can lay the plants right on their sides, and drip feed, with any runoff getting caught by the tables.

I mean hey, I could change my mind again and build and paint 16 more racks... lol racks are about 1/3 the cost of tables. They just take a bit more work. EDIT: I could change my mind 20 mins later too... cause I'm talking about spending more money on a setup that puts the plants in closer together, instead of giving them the room to reach their full potential...

I know that I don't have years of experience under my belt... So I'm going to make some mistakes. A lot of guys out there don't share their flawed runs. They wait until they've already got everything dialed in, and then invite everyone in for the show...

This is a real-time grow/learning experience/adventure.

Just give me about 3 more weeks... I've got it now.

Funny after I read that by DHF I went down in the room to just think about how to put angled corners in my room...great minds think alike....if you figure it out, please share it with us!

Shame about the yield but you've grown yourself some tasty looking buds. You know what needs changed so move on to your next grow with the insight and KILL it. Can't wait to see your next run.

Have you checked it for scale build up?

It looks brand new... It gets dehuey water, with real low ppms... I figured the fog output would decrease before it would fail? It's only 3 months old. So far it's working like it should. I had to remove it from the floatation device, because it had become a sinking device.

You just put some reflectix from the edge of one shelf and take it to the edge of the next shelf. So you have 4 corners without plants, acting as reflectors...

It's not a bad design... but the more spread out the plants are, the bigger they can be, in the same space.

Bobble just to be nosey what is your whole grow space in that basement?

Not big enough... The whole thing is like 50 x 24... 2 8x8 pods on one end, the veg tent 4.5 x 9.5 and the tester room 8x8 on the other... I think the tester room is moving upstairs though b/c I need the electricity for the veg tent. :)

The middle has the furnace, water heater, dehuey, water chiller, stairs... The clean hot air is getting pushed out the dryer vent and up into the attic as well...

Shame about the yield but you've grown yourself some tasty looking buds. You know what needs changed so move on to your next grow with the insight and KILL it. Can't wait to see your next run.

Thanks. :thank you: Always moving forward, never looking back... I've already moved on. Now I'm thinking about the new truck I'm gonna be driving around town.

and tomorrow one of my good friends is coming home from 2 years in Shanghai... :jump: We spent 3.5 months in South America together... So we're pretty tight.

I totally feel you bobble when you just can't wait to chop and start again.

I know this isn't your best run but even when things are good I still find myself saying I cant wait till its over and start a new one because its gonna be that much better.

Dedication and a strive for excellence is what sets you apart from the "average grower" but I am sure you already new that since you seem to inspire so many others on these boards.

All the best mayne! Life's a garden dig it!
