hey turbo nice buds :D so what canna nutes you using that have silicon in them? i use part of the canna range with my feed schedule but never seen a silicon product from them...

Canna A+B base nutes bro, at least I thought they had fulvics/silica included in them..

Maybe not silica, whoops!

"After years of research into soil, drainage and leaf analyses, CANNA has succeeded in being the first to develop a fertilizer that is specifically tailored to the characteristics of cocos substrates. CANNA Coco A&B is composed of high value minerals and, in addition to this, CANNA Coco contains humous and fulvic acids which give the plant optimum nutrient absorption."

Looks like your last run went better than my current grow... Good job. Those buds are huge. What strains did you grow?

Thank you sir, almost as huge as my balls! (Yeah Right)

Strain was Bubbledust from Growdoc seeds, $40-60, ordered from the boo, 9 weeker, vegged for 3 weeks and flowered around a 600whps in a basement w/ no fresh air or Co2 :( Had a few mandala speed queen's going 2, nothing fancy :)

the horizontal pic was a bro's grow w/ the same strain, just vegged longer, n some good ass pancakes I had w/ my ex a while back...(crazy bitch!) lol

Grow on *%^#!!

you should try getting some budshots when the lights are off :D

lol.. yeah, I should... I took a few shots of some other plants with the lights off, and WOW what a difference...

yeah man, like LL said, I need to take some pics with the lights off... and you're right also, I do have yellow leaves on my buds.

I already took off 1 main cola with bud rot from decaying leaves... It's an endless battle. I think I'm going to have to take the room down at 8 weeks. I've been in there 2x in the past week to strip dead leaves, and I have to do it again already.

It would be better to get a fresh start anyway, huh?

That Purple Skunk looks like FIRE Bobble...also I like the Grape Kush and the Strawberry Diesel x Chem bx1! I don't know about you but I am going to have a problem mono-cropping and just growing ONE strain, it's SO much fun to grow different ones to see how they develop and taste, effects etc...

Great Job buddy ..as always!

Just so you have an idea of what you have with the USD, I put it on par with my StrawDD, but it vegges faster.

Monocropping is about discipline/organization my man. I mean think about it, if I can hit 1.5-2gpw pulling down 6-9lbs a run... I'm gonna have extra, and I won't have to grow that plant again unless I want to... I can have an extra lb stashed away for me... lol... compared to yielding less in a polycropped setup and having to "donate" everything except a few ozs... Give each strain it's own room. Just make more room if you want more strains. You know that patience thing I was talkin about earlier?

Watch out Heath. I make beans too.... lol

Brrrrr Grab your coats its frosty in here. Nice buds Bobble

thanks for the compliment. :) I guess I got something right in this grow! ha ha...

The monocrop is on the way my friend... vegging it up right now. These are all the extra plants I had. I needed to make some space.

School has made me a better grower my friend... :moon: There's lots of time to grow, but the mind is only a sponge for so long... Anyway, no reason not to be an educated grower. Nobody said I was gonna quit growing after achieving my 2nd bachelors and eventually a masters degree... But it will give me the option to do so and still make good money.

Nobody can grow "commercially" forever, w/o getting caught... unless they're MIway of course! :tiphat: Your philosophy is something else bro... lol

way to be BH.

I was thinkin' bout goin' for my CPA or MBA as my company will pay for it, since I'm not growing right now I mine as well right? Gotta do something to suppress the itch!!!

I agree, will only make us more successful, and plenty of time to grow once things are running smoothly and you only need to be in the grow for a few hours a week.

A means to an end, real estate will be my way out of the game, hopefully...

Hey BH,, do you find that vegging vertical is more beneficial? I mean, is it really worth the extra effort to setup a veg room to run vert as opposed to keeping an already dialed veg room with cooled lights horizontal? Also do you do any supercropping pinching/ bending to train your girls while in veg?

It seems like in a situtation where you veg horizontal, that bending or supercropping would work really well? Bending the stems 90deg in veg horizontal. Then when you put the plant in the vertical wall it would have the shoots pointing straight at the bulb.

Go for the CPA... Everyone and their brother has a MBA... I don't know any accountants whining about not having a job.

Like DHF says, buy real estate, cause they aint makin no more of it... And it's at rock bottom prices right now. The housing market isn't anywhere close to recovering yet. There's still lots of people losing their homes on a monthly basis. My best friend's mom lost her house last year, quit paying the mortgage sometime last summer? And she's still living there... The bank hasn't had the time to evict her, there's too many other people's lives to ruin.

I veg horizontal... I had to make room in the veg tent, so all the extra plants got moved to a vertical room. DHF and Heath veg horizontal... Fred's once explained it all to me real well... something about internode stacking etc etc... The plants will grow taller instead of just bushing out like they do when you veg with a vertical lamp. Plenty of time for sideways growth when they hit the pods.

DHF also told me to veg with t5's... I choose to flip/flop a 250w MH across my 4.5 x 9.5 veg tent. 10hs direct/indirect light on each side, and 4hs of darkness. I don't take all of Fred's advice... But I do listen to most of it.

I haven't really been training my plants in veg, except for when I take cuts. I take my cuts strategically. If the plant needs to get taller, I take them from the bottom, if the plant is tall enough, but needs to bush out, I take tops... If I like how it's growing, I take them from the middle.

Most of the training is in flower... The newest pod has chicken wire on da ceiling... (more of Fred's advice)

Edit: I just saw the picture... the plant will take that final shape w/o you bending it. The whole plant will turn upright. It's better to not top them or any of that business, cause they'll bush out and block light to their neighbor plants.

I see...hmm very interesting... so we want that stretch!! and not the bushing out. or anything that will cause it.

Vegging with T5s defineately keeps temps lower and saves on electricity. I actually do veg under t5s now, but was planning on building the new veg room using one of my many huge magnum hoods laying around with a 400hps. Looks like that might not be needed.

Thanks Bro

That's amazing! You veg at less than 6 watts per square foot if I'm reading that correctly. How is that working for you compared to more intense veg lighting (which I assume you have tried)? Do they grow slower or with more internode spacing? I'm at 31w per square foot in my veg room and want to expand but maybe I don't need more light to do it? I understand that the light doesn't need to be as intense in veg but that low really surprised me. Way cool...

well, I suppose the plants could grow faster under more light... but from what I've seen, they grow fast enough. All those larger plants pictured in the new pod were pulled out of my veg tent, and they've only been in there a couple months...

DHF told me to veg with t5's... but I already had a digital switchable 400w ballast laying around, and it was only another $200 for the hoods... The DPDT relay I also had already... And there's research that indicates the plant only benefits from direct light for so many hours. So I decided to do my own thing, and see what happens...

Now I'm no master when it comes to vegging plants... I've been killing seedling and cuts left and right lately... So if I should be using more light, don't be scurred to say so... but so far, I'm not complaining. It's more about providing the right environment.
