My purple skunks had 1 full blown hermaphrodite... so beware whoever I shared these seeds with. It's the only plant in the room showing intersex traits, so it's 100% genetic... Most plants are 100% female and look great! But there was that 1. The plant has been culled, and trimmed up... I figured it would be easiest to show the purple with this one already out of the room... Temps are running 75-78F, so my purple skunk will purple even in warmer temps.

Should I worry? Or just keep an eye out for Hermaphrodites?

I cannot wait until tomorrow for pics wahhhhh I wanna see Purple Skunk NOW!:smoky:

Sorry man I lost internet service for a day... I just had it fixed, so I'll get you some pics up tonight. Definitely some GREAT plants...

Mad props bobblehead! Thank you for directing me to this

You're welcome, I'm here to help...

Yo bobblehead.. you encourage stretch with RH at 70% for the first 4 weeks? Is that lights out too?

Yes. During veg and stretch, humidity is kept at 70%.

Any lower, and transpiration increases, pulling water out of the plants... So then the plants have to drink more to replace what's been lost. When they drink, they're also going to pull fertilizer... Potentially causing over-fertilization.

Water is used to transport CO2 within the plant as H2CO3... Now I'm not a botanist, but I think if the plant is sweating out H20, it can't transport as much CO2...

Anyway, to wrap this up... My humidistat keeps the veg tent at 70% RH, and I pump that air into the pod that is stretching...

Thanks bobble...that explains why my veg plants look over fed..ive been keeping the humidity as high as i can (usually 60-70%) day and night. I guess the next move is to lower the ppms and or top off with plain water to decrease the ppms.

wait... hmm thats not right??? maybe i just have the soup too hot. i will post a pic in my thread if ya dont mind checking it.
Thanks

lol, thanks Mega... How much time did you spend looking for all those? ha ha...

22 days... I went in with the green light and stripped out a bunch of yellow fan leaves. The root aphids really took a toll on some of the plants... Oh well, now I know to treat the plants that are coming up, which is what really matters... The mono-crop... Additionally, I think that a 3oz plant can fit in the space provided for each plant... Still quite a stretch given what i have right now. I'm looking for a 1.5oz plant to get 6lbs a run... I just don't see it this time.

Purple Skunk- very resilient. These plants are going to pull me through in the yield dept. I don't know if it's b/c they were from seed, or the fact that Grape Skunk (the father) is a vigorous plant that was originally bred by the Pomo Indians for outdoor growing... Definitely didn't have anything to do with the purp clone I used as a mom.

Sour Diesel S1- MIway shared Grape Kush and SD S1's with me... The SD S1's are looking the best out of the two. Some of them just exploded in growth, and I wish I had more like them!

Overall I'm a little disappointed so far... But hey, I'm not running strains I've been growing for years and years... This is the biggest operation I've ever put together, so I'm still learning.
Grape Kush on the left, SD s1's on the right...

Purple Skunks- It's hard to get a good picture, but they are the biggest plants in there...

Veg tent is really filling up now...

and I made some changes to the pond fogger/humidifier... The container I was using was too small, and water was splashing on the pc fan, eventually ruining it. I put in a tough tote, and things are going much more smoothly. I hooked up the dehuey, so the water from the dehuey goes into the bottom, and overflow goes out the top to a drain in the floor. This way I'll never have to refill the res. Water is pulled out of the air, and the same water is put back in the air.

Is 1.5 gpw pretty achievable in vert?

with 64 plants finishing with a dry weight of 1.5oz... yes. 2-2.5gpw should be achieved with a little dialing.

DHF has been preaching to all of us that we need to mono-crop! No more running multiple strains in 1 room. If you're growing the same plant, you know exactly how it's going to stretch, how to feed it, when it's going to finish, etc... And then you can fill in the canopy 100% instead of having all the dead space I have right now. I'll still pull 4-5lbs easily enough... I've grown some 2.5-3oz plants before, and I know they can fit in the space provided....

I have been thinking about this for a while since my veg space is way too dry. I have been resisting humidifying my veg space since it is air cooled and evacuates into my bedroom (it's in the next bedroom). It seems I'm going to be pumping a ton of humidity into my bedroom if I humidify my veg and that isn't going to fly. From what I understand dehumidifiers are pretty loud/hot and I'm not sure if it would be acceptable to have it in my bedroom. Any insight? I LOVE the fact that you have the dehumidifier plumbed to drain back into the humidifier - that's just too cool! I just have to figure out the logistics. Where does the dehumidifier live in your setup?

I can tell you this - you probably don't want a dehuey in your bedroom. It's not a pleasant white-noise deal like a fan, .. It's a VOOOOOSH. And it puts off hot air, which wouldn't fly in my bedroom.

SO true ,this last winter has a tree branch punch a hole into our master bedroom, had a BIG ASS de-huey (wish I stole it now LOL) running 24-7 we had to shut it off to sleep, damn thing pumped out some heat too, that was ok since it was winter but in the summer...dyammmn.

I've got one in the basement - perfect! I've been having to use it lately too, .. Keeps RH in the tent about 45ish, ..

And at night, it keeps the ambient temp fairly warm. :friends:
