Maybe they`ll step up and take more notice when he gets all his ducks in a row and starts pumpin out the gpw`s perpetually like he knows how to , and I know he will...anyways.....

Peace...DHF....:ying:....

Damn right.. he better. I'm still waiting for bobble to bring this 8-10lb babyshit he was talkin' about. I'm ready to have my mind blown already...

Just playin' bobble. Maybe you mentioned somewhere in this massive thread...what is the brand light meter you using?

Sometimes I see a lack of quality (less trichs /sometimes foxtailing) on the colas nearest my lamps.. things end up getting a little too close and it'd be nice to have the data there in front of me to determine how far back I should tie those colas..

And to be clear.. that right on the water house as pictured in the beginning this thread was only 45k!!! on a land contract! Thats amazing... looks like something from down in the carolinas or something. RE is depressed here (different mid-west state) and I've snagged a couple rentals around 15k, but it was cash only and even remodeled nothing of the caliber of that lake property. Would love to find some land contract opportunities with some acreage.

If they call the contract in 3yr you've got pony up the remaining balance or obtain financing (typically what they mean by that)? What if you don't have the funds in the bank at that time? Do you lose your 5k down and any monthly you've put towards it.. along with any rehab you put in..and the house!?

Seems shitty, but that's the kind of land contracts I find around here. Owner isn't fully carrying the note.. just 2 years.

At long last, the Headband!

I can only hope my buds come out as nice as yours... ;) I love that Headband...

K+ for the advice, but I've thought about pretty good. There are a few reasons for me to play in the water...

Sounds like this isn't your first rodeo... so like Freds said, make a thread and share some pics! Good luck... growing plants on multiple levels is more interesting, that's for sure.

Hey bobblehead, could you talk a little bit more about land contracts and the tax implications? Would this be a good avenue for someone with cash but no tax history to begin 'getting right'?

What do you mean the tax implications? You have to pay property taxes... A land contract is between you and the owner of the house, so nobody has to look at your tax return unless you let them... The woman who is selling me my house did no sort of background check on me. I gave her $5k, we drove around town for about an hour filing paperwork, and she moved out of state.

Damn right.. he better. I'm still waiting for bobble to bring this 8-10lb babyshit he was talkin' about. I'm ready to have my mind blown already...

lol... 8-10lb harvests are coming, I guaranfuckingtee it... and it is baby-shit once you know what you're doing... I've had 3 things consistently holding me back. 1. I haven't been able to clone for shit. Huge problem when you're attempting to run vert SOG. 2. Feed delivery. 3. bugs. Finally I have all that handled... So just sit tight. ;)

My light meter is from Pyle, it's a digital one that reads up to 40kfc. I haven't got around to taking all the light measurements to share with the community... but I've found it to be an invaluable tool in knowing just how big to make the canopy... I used to keep my plants way too close to the lamps. If the folks in the "how do I get 1gpw" thread would pay afuckingttention they might pick up on this... A $20 light meter is all you need to know if you're getting too much, enough, or too little light.

Anyway... Yeah dude, I got a great deal on my house... It has more than it's fair share of problems, but I'm not scurred... ha ha... I've accepted that part of the house will be razed, and I will get to rebuild it to my specifications, making it better than before. Even in this depressed market, you can sell a house if it has the right selling points.

As far as the note being called in 3yrs... I didn't go into this with the intention of paying on this house for more than 2yrs, so it was never really a concern on whether or not the note gets called... At this point, other than replacing the well pump, I've only done demolition. It would be foolish of the original owner to call the note at any point now... lol... That bitch can keep her moldy shack. :D Truly, the only reason I'm not paying this house off this year, is b/c I'm paying tuition for my master's degree, paying down student loans, and buying another house this fall... along with a few other incidental expenses... Oh, and I need to get the backup generator installed this fall as well. I'm really good at spending money I don't have yet... lol... but it's not like I'm talking about putting rims on my truck, ya know?

So ok don't flame me for asking this..but what is the big deal with "headband" I always thought it was an old "played out" strain? I need to be schooled on this strain?

Also Bobble Im thinking of going to a "shorter" flowering strain, I know..I know..but dude you know my situation, I feel if I can get a 7-8 week strain, I can pull down maybe one or even two more harvest's a year....and that's some real cheese right their.

Everybody loves the Headband. The overall consensus is that it makes you laugh hysterically...

Now I'm gonna come over there and punch you in the head for talking about running a 7-8 week strain... I've grown C99 and Bogglegum as well as some AK47 oh and Chronic... None of which were nearly as good as a strain that goes 10 weeks. Even those plants will get better if you take them longer. You have the Straw DD. Run it, and you won't look back. It's done in 9.5 weeks... But I don't do half weeks anymore.

A Q? About plant and lamp spacing, a few post back you were talking about how you used to have your lakpw too close to the plants, please help me out I'm running 2k stacked and some of the plants are maybe 10" away with no heat problems, but am i still hurting them somehow, what did you find to be the optimum distance away from the lamp...?

You're not hurting your plants, but you could fit more plants if you backed them up off the lamp. My plants start off 3' from the 600w lamp. This is for vert SOG though and the plants lean toward the light. If i'm growing large plants straight up and down, then they need to be about 2' from the lamps. Of course if i was growing a real monster plant, I would back it up to 3' so that all the branches could be trained to grow toward the light like a vert SOG.

As for your situation... I don't have 1kw bare bulbs to take readings from... Say you get a light meter though, i think you'll find your optimal distance to be 3' from the 1kw lamp to have 5k foot candles... meaning you could have 1' of bare stem and have your plants 4' back, with all branches leaning forward. That's in part how you get to 1gpw+...

My space is 6x6 so right now so I can't space em' any further than what I have em' but i do have 1 lamp on top of the other so I do get great coverage on both levels...

So when I get the light meter what am i looking for?

Are you growing large plants on the floor? If that's the case, I would go with the W.o.W. concept and scrog them into a 6x6 cylinder... You could even downgrade to 1200w, which would make it easier to have a high gpw... I mean that's my canopy, 6x6, and I use 600w lamps...

To answer your question though 5k foot candles is supposed to be the max amount of light usable for photosynthesis at 300ppm (ambient) CO2. 3' from my 600w lamps, my plants are getting 3kfc direct light and 1.5kfc indirect, for 4.5kfc. The closer they grow to the lamps, the more light they receive.

I hope that helps... :tiphat:

That's it right there... I have since lifted the 3 plants in front of that picture to have better coverage since I was wasting the light that's shining in the camera.
Thanks for the help everyone....

Ok friends... So I've decided it's time for me to give pollen chucking another go... I intend to work a lot with Chem D b/c it's the total package of a plant. So, here's some pics of what I've found so far.

This is a Chem ix iv f2 that inherited the variegation that the Chem D is supposed to have, supposedly from TMV. My clone doesn't have this, but as far as I can tell, it's legit.
picture.php

3/4 Chem ix iv f2 females have Hindu Kush throwbacks in their leaves... As well as the all but 1 of the Menage a trois x chem ix iv males I was growing. I didn't notice this until yesterday while I was trying to select a male. Needless to say I culled several plants...
picture.php

This is what Chem D looks like
picture.php

and this is the MAT x Chem ix iv male. He has Chem leaves, is bushy but with a dominant main branch (which I removed cause he was too tall), basically looks like a male Chem D. I also have 1 Chem ix iv waiting to show sex, but it looks male and doesn't have HK traits. It doesn't have the vigor of the MAT x Chem ix iv male.
