I ran 4 locations with 8 fliprooms for lil over 1000 a month including all environmental dialage equipment needed , but I did run smaller rooms with less wattage overall......but...14.4 KW in lights and only 7.2 KW for the monthly power bills due to each bloom room kickin off when the other was kickin on......anyways....

I feel for yall`s outrageous powerbills......Sucks bigtime for so many reasons.....

Peace....DHF......:ying:....

out of curiosity... what's your rate per kwh? Mine is $0.09 per kwh at this location. Pretty cheap. I'm running 4 flip rooms and a veg... so I wasn't upset with the $650 bill including my well... but I have to get better insulation.

true....but I still get my hustle on....everyone is hustling.....hustling

I got to look and see what my KW per hour rate is, Cali just went to a "scaled" system (damn PG&E to hell)...they KNOW what the fuck we are doing so if you use a lower amount you pay LESS per KW hour but if you use MORE you are then put in a HIGHER KW bracket.....guess which one I am in?

.35 a kWh? I think I pay .10 max, and the solar panels sure help...

Lot ta be said bout growin in basements and savin cash on powerbills Bobbles , cuz they`re already insulated from bein in the ground , and then.....

Once the big wall from 1 side of the house to the other was done , the flip rooms were framed and insulated with dense ass rockwool nasty ass slabs , and it was babyshit to control environment for 72 sq ftg of grow area compared to the prolly 350 total sq ft behind the wall for lung room to pre-veg and root cuts...... anyways......

Yeah....Yas need ta insulate.....Shoulda made a point ta stress it when yas had all them walls opened up....and the attic....AND the floor underneath....but.....

Just fuckin witchas cuz I know you know Bro.......Oh....

I think my KWH`s have been in the 0.075-8 and maybe .09-ish range for at least a decade...Usedta be .05/6-ish when I started runnin Krusty buckets.....

I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and start sealing everything up bit by bit... as each room empties out. eventually I'll get everything done. The lung room is what's killing me. I should probably make that a priority. Also I'm thinking a tub of oil with an aquarium heater in the well pit. That would at least buy me a couple hours in the event of power failure.

I've been paying some steep ones.. around $1100-$1300 a month. 10,700 is my last usage total KWH. That sound about right?

Now that is with around 12k in various stages at times + split AC + living, but I've had my rooms dimmed at times. Anyone know if Lumateks and others use less juice when dimmed to 600w, or are they still sucking down 1000w?

I'm curious to see what this months is like because I discovered that I may have been putting quite the load on my electric hot water tank by letting my wood furnace circulate cold water through it while it hasnt been being used. All that cold water circulating through a 'jacket' on my tank might have been causing my tank to run overtime.

Our electrical provider has been hitting us with all kinds of "retail stability" and "phase-in recovery" charges on top of the normal usage/distribution charges. Bunch of bullshit if you ask me. Why the fuck are we paying to defer their fuel payments and shit during a move/upgrade or whatever they're doing.

I think I pay around .07 KHW however I saw this on my last bill. Does this mean overall or per KWH?!

A residential customer using 1,000 kWh of electricity will see an increase of $0.27 per month.
It is what it is..guess should consider ourselves lucky compaired to some, but still pisses me off every time I get a bill. I keep getting stuck in these ruts with lackluster growth and deficiencies.. keep me on 24hrs much longer then I should be.

But yea, paying for space heaters is silly. Getcha some more light hung boy. Maybe you can toss a little 400w op or something in your well pump cubby hole.. lol. I'm not sure what modern well pumps are lookin like, but my last space had a little concrete dungeon off of the basement for the well pump. Sucker was the loudest thing around..

Your deductive reasoning scares me sometimes cuz that sounds awesome as a passive "after the fact" heat dump till it cools down and or the power comes back on........

Keep dialin Bro....and insulate.....:moon:.....when budget provides.....

Can you be more specific about the rockwool slabs? Cause not to be funny, but in my head I'm thinking about overpriced grow slabs being stuck in the wall. ha ha... I know that's not the case, and it's gotta be a building material. But a little more info so I don't go into home depot with a clueless look on my face and then some associate starts asking me 20 questions and I flip out and tell them I grow pot for a living! GO AWAY! lol...

I believe it's called Roxul

There was a dude here building a mega-stealth hidden room, and he used that shit all over the place. budderfly was the name, IIRC. Lemme do some diggin', see if I can help with a link.

Edit: Here goes, right to the post where he first mentions the Roxul

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=5359173&highlight=roxul#post5359173

I've looked for this locally in HD, bobbles, but I'm not able to find it. Lemme know if you have any luck, because I'd love to get some for soundproofing's sake..

So confused.

http://www.homedepot.com/Building-M...Id=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051#.URPkQKVEFo4

Looks like it's available in store only, okay. I dig.

This Roxul Safe'n'Sound Unfaced 47 in. x 1 ft. 3-1/4 in. Batt Insulation delivers impressive performance with its lightweight and non-combustible construction.

Okay, 47 in. x 12 in x 3.25 in. Okay.... :chin:

59.7 sq. ft. coverage area

Head asplode

I'm imagining that it's a 44-45' long roll, 16" wide, .. ?

I swear, the stuff budderfly was using looked like it actually came in 15/16" wide slabs, vs. a roll.

:chin:

Edit: I'm such a douche. Looking around at the same product on other sites, and it appears that they do in fact come in slabs, multiple slabs in a pack. So there goes my whole head asplodin' deal.

Instead of using an aquirium heater, take a look at the heating elements for a hot water tank at home depot. Available in 120v and 240, at varing wattages. Cheap.

The indoor moonshine guys use them to heat their boilers.

Yas can`t get this shit bein John Q Consumer......and no....Yas can`t get it from Home Depot or Lowe`s either......

It`s always been available thru insulation supply companies for specific applications , but in the last decade with the popularity of bottom level "media rooms"/man caves it`s become more available and popular for it`s R-factor as wwell as more for it`s "sound deadening " qualities......and.....

Since I`d used the shit for many yrs building shit in various situations , I felt it the best application to cover my ass in Hell since paranoia ruled my world till I shut down.....and guaranteed......

It`s some nasty shit , but it rules for R-factor and keepin ALL environmental equipment it takes to dial and hoon a flip room location without neighbors hearin less than dick...

Wealth thru stealth with overkill bein underrated saved my ass till I quit....ALL would do well to adapt the same attitude regardless of in a med state or not........

Peace....Freds.....:ying:.....

So what you're saying is I should go with foamboard insulation because it comes in big panels and it'll make sealing everything up easier... ;) Thanks.

Thanks! I was looking at an aquarium heater though because I don't want the oil hot, just warm... but if it's cheap... :D

Got a link? Just curious to the varying degrees of rockwool-based insulation slabs. I'm curious to know how far superior it is to the Roxul, and the cost difference. I have to imagine that at some point, you reach a point of diminishing returns, as far as cost..

So what you're saying is I should go with foamboard insulation because it comes in big panels and it'll make sealing everything up easier... ;) Thanks.

Well, shit, of course. Take a steak knife and saw that shit to fit. But the soundproofing is what's lookin' sexy to me.. :)

The 1.5" yellow with fiberglass face foam board at home depot is what you want. That, with drywall over it will be rock solid. Insulation and sound proofing.

I think this is what DHF is talking about:

http://www.certainteed.com/products/insulation/stone-wool-(rock-wool)#

It is use in commercial buildings for fire proofing and sound deadening.

Check at Menard's contractors desk I think they can order it for you.

You can place that into steel studs to enclose rooms and it is made for that use.

Still completely worthless to me if I can't get it... I'm not a licensed builder. I'm not about to go out of my way to get it either when there are suitable alternatives. Thanks anyway dude! I'm just gonna put up plastic, followed by foamboard panels... Tape it all up... and sealed. Then I don't have to exhaust so much air to keep the smell from leaking out... and then I can capture more heat as well as preventing the cold from creeping in.

I'm not even gonna do the whole house in foamboard. I'm just gonna frame out the uninsulated parts of the lung room, as well as redo my rooms in foamboard. I just need the time and $.

My last pull was:

Sour D- 7
Straw DD- 7
Goat- 5
USD- 8

Total: 27oz or 1.69lbs... Not great, but a hell of a lot more than what I've been pulling down. I should be able to afford a little insulation after paying my other bills.
