Is the pic on post #1366 the cab with only 6400k bulbs ? Do you see any noticeable differens
with previous ''regular'' runs with warm ligths in flo? Like more smell or resin production?

Peace S

no those aren't 6400k bulbs. I only flower with soft white cfls. There were a couple times, iirc, that I might have put a single cool white cfl in with the soft whites during flowering, but mostly just all soft white.

I didn't really notice a difference between all soft white and one cool white/rest all soft white.

The current round isn't really being documented cuz life got real busy, but the 1sq ft cfl cab is running all cool white cfls during flowering and I think I"m noticing a difference but I will have to wait til the end to see for sure. I don't really want to report anything either way at this point.

Inspiration!

Inspiration!

Blynx! I've been lurking since last December. You're an inspiration to all of us with limited indoor grow space!

Currently have two micro grows, 1 in a commercial box of 1 sq ft & 42 watts of CFL's (Semi-sucks), and a homemade armoire conversion of 3.25 sq ft, with 234 watts of T5 and CFL's.

I currently have a pretty nice plant close to finishing in the big box, and I've been rocking a fiddy-fiddy mixed spectrum. The reason is that a couple of serious indoor growers I know get huge results with it.

Just wondering if you've ever done an entire grow of any sort with mixed spectrum?

Here's a little bud porn of my big girl:

Hello Blynx! My sincere congratulations, their farming inspire anyone with goodwill to start planting. Always accompany your topic here in micro grows. Class how to make a small space, with excellent results.

Hi Blynx! youre cabs give me inspiration and want to make one just like yours. Your scrog cab looks promising and I would like to copy it.
Looks like the plants in the scrog cab are indica dominant strains. If I were to plant sativa dominant strains; should I increase he height of the cab ?

awesome grow log. what kind of soil and nutes do you use?

50-50 mix of new and re-used soil.

The new soil is 3 : 1 : 1 mix of promix : earthworm castings : perlite.

The used soil is soil a plant grew in. The rootball is run through 1/2" hardware cloth screen and some Biotone is added. The soil is mixed and sits in a rubbermaid tub until needed.

Plants are fed plain water. They might be given a litte Age Old bloom once during flowering.

The plants in the scrog have probably been more sativa dominant than indica dominant.

If you are using regular cfl bulbs than you can only make the cab so tall before the amount of light hitting the lower parts of the plant is negligible.

If you are using PLL lights that hang down into the cab then you could make it taller.

I think that training is more the key to controlling the plant than building a larger cab is.

Life's been super busy since early summer and all the cabs have been out of use except for the 11"x11" cfl cab I've been using to veg a single plant before it goes under the HID.

The ChemSis that was in the cfl scrog ended up getting removed and stuck under the HID. I was lazy and never built a scrubber for the cfl scrog cab and with the warm temps and full cabinet of ChemSis, the odor was too much. If any odor escapes from that cab its contained in the room the cab was in. The odor from the ChemSis in that round leaked to the whole floor the cab was on, so it got moved into the HID cab where there was a scrubber. She ended up yielding a little over 2 oz.

The 1sq ft cfl cab yielded sightly over an oz. This was from the all 6500k (daylight) cfls. The buds were airy and never quite seemed to finish. I think I'm sticking with all soft white cfls for flowering. I don't think I'll even bother mixing spectrums, just daylight for veg, soft white for flower.

The 11"x11" cfl cab yielded slightly under an oz. I had defoliated some of the large fan leaves that the Ultra Sonja puts out. She didn't like that and it greatly affected yield. All the buds were tiny and never got big nor bulked up. If I hadn't defoliated tho, the yield would have been even worse because so much light would have been blocked by the large fans.

I've been missing running the cfl cabs and think it's time to start up the cfl scrog cab.

So here we go!

This round will be two C99 x Shire (SSSDH).

Here are the plants before they went into the cab.

They're a little tall so some training is in order

thanks!

lol, yea the stems were real woody so I had to use a pair of needlenose pliers to crush them. I put some aquarium tubing on the ends of the pliers to give them some cushion for the crushing.

I expect some of the current growth to die and/or not really produce. That's the problem of starting with really old woody plants. The important part of the training is that lots of new growth should start off the existing older growth.
