I'm going to try training with only bamboo skewers. No super cropping, and no twist ties.

You must be a politician Blynx. You say no twist ties and post a picture with a twist tie! lol :Bolt:

I can't wait to see the results of using only bamboo with your setup. I'm glad to see that you keep mixing things up as you grow whether its to get more out of the plant or just do something different.

Hey man i got a micro going right now, with CFLs arent you supposed to have the lights as close as possible?

I just say this cause i notice your lights are way more then a few inches away in some pics.

But i love watching your grows man, my next round ima do either 6 or 9 clone SOG(1'4x1'4x3'11 space)

When I veg the plants I let them grow up toward the light.

The scrog is kind of a guessing game as to where to put the screen depending on strain.

Once the plants are flowering I usually try to keep the buds very close to the light.

Some strains don't like that and the buds real close to the lights are airy, they foxtail and never really 'finish'

LOL. Yea I guess I should have said no permanent twist ties to hold things in place. That twist tie was only used for one day until I figured out I could do the same thing with two skewers.

Looks like the bamboo training is working out and doing a good job. But how would you compare it to your otherwise normal training at this point Blynx? Great choice to run in the scrog this time. I wanna say she'll produce more than the last round by a half.:plant grow:

I am interested in the skewer training idea. Will see how it goes for you and maybe try it.

Using the skewers really is no different than twist ties and other lst methods. I just didn't want to use a bunch of twist ties trying to train this plant.

More importantly I didn't want to do any supercropping to this plant. I've been really aggressive lately in supercropping my micro plants. I have been breaking and having to tape, and even worse, breaking branches off completely.

This plant was originally going to be culled by just running the last one in flower, but I ended up taking a 40 day cut from her and it rooted and this is that clone.

The buds look nice and bulky and feel dense, but for some reason they dry really light, so we'll have to see how she ends up.

It's time for the next round in the 1sq ft cfl cab and I decided to try something different this time, a scrog.

Originally I was going to make a wooden frame, but after doing some calculations I decided not to go with a wooden frame. I am dealing with such a small area to begin with that I would lose too much space by using a wooden frame so I had to come up with a different scrog method.

Here is what I ended up with. The screen was originally on the bottom of the cab as a spacer between the intake vent holes and the bottoms of the goldfish boxes I usually use in this cab.

The container is a cut down 5 gal bucket. The wood could have gone on the outside of the container but I put them inside strictly for appearance purposes lol.

I wanted to be able to not only secure the screen in place but also make it easily removable so I didn't have to have it in place for early vegging.

Here's what I came up with. I made some grooves in the top of the wood so the screen can rest in them. Then I added a bent piece of coat hanger as a clasp that can flip up and hold the screen tightly in place.

Let's get a plant in there and get growing!
