Blumat auto watering

I soaked all my distributors in CLR (an acid mix that you get at WalMart to remove hard water stains) to remove the iron buildup. Soaked overnight, took a toothbrush to the black threaded bolts, and all parts are clean as a whistle.

I had one distributor clog a bit, so I changed it out. Hard water can definitely clog these over time.

I'm running straight well water with a pressure reducer.

If you are going to have a water supply, think about using the pressure reducer, if running plain water.

I don't want to give the system unlimited water supply, in case something leaks. I'm not there all the time, so it'll be best to have a limited supply (20-50 gal, I suppose)

Humm. This would save a fair bit of room. There is another model of that sensor, for just a single pipe (I only am piping cold in), for $114. 2 more sensors (2 flower areas, plus veg) and shipping brings it up to $151. Then 70' of 1/4-1/2" pex and a pressure reducer and I'm in business. I hope I don't need to worry about city chlorine and such. Currently, running Roots Organic nutrients, I just let the water sit while I add nutrients, I do not bubble it overnight. Some days (rarely) it smells like chlorine, normally it does not tho.

There are different types and threading. I found I needed the washing machine (for clothes) type and I only used 1 valve. You need the hose thread to directly attach the pressure reducer.

I was thinking I'd just use a PEX to 1/2 NPT fitting, a 1/2 NPT quarter-turn shut off valve, and then the 1/2 NPT safety shut off valve, and then a 1/2 NPT to garden hose thread male for the Blumat's? I have to look up everything on McMaster/etc, but I think that should do it.

That's what I did as well (except for the Pex), and I simply put the emergency shutoff valve after the adapter

I will never use anything else in soil/coco to feed ever again since i first used blumats.
Once you have them dialed, you can walk away for a month if you have a big enough res.
It's good to have the freedom of vacations back again.
We all know growing pot is a full time, everyday JOB.

anyway, here is some shots of Rom's ssh grown in botanicare cocogro 5kg bales.
2 gallon pail w/ 1 blumat in it, fed 1 tsp maxi/gallon tap water.
The constant perfect moisture content of the coco makes for awesome yields.
She came out of a room w/ 17 others grown the same way under 2 x 600w's. 4'x6' space.

Has anybody ever ordered Blumats from Sustainable Village?

How do they ship things?

Anything else I should know about them? I am eyeballing them for my next blumat purchase.

I ordered through them recently. They lost my order between some cracks as they are (were?) updating the website, when I called they apologized, figured it out, and shipped my order. They seem like good people.

I discussed blumats with an employee at a local soil store and he was so dumbfounded, I think hes planning on showing them to his boss and pursuing carrying them in the local shop :D Oh how I'd love to dodge that shipping hassle...

A few months ago I had a few blumats that would not hold water in the carrot. They were drying out completely with in a day, I emailed them and told them about my problem and they next day mailed me replacements free of charge and askedme to mail the defectives when I could. Very happy with them. Awesome customer service.

Merry Christmas everyone! I bought the tropf bluemats, and can't wait to get them rocking. I am going to have 3 5gallon airpots, and 1 3gallon airpot-my question is do I need one or two drippers in the 5gallon airpots? And do I need the Maxi cone? Thanks, hope everyone had a great Xmas :tiphat: :thank you: :peacock:
