blueberry or bogglegum?

i'm pretty much ready to start my grow at any time. just need to buy seeds. i was pretty much set on bogglegum, until i smoked some good blueberry this week which reminded me how much i love it. :abduct: i don't normally get blueberry and last smoked it in the summer. very tasty, smooth w/ an almost trippy high. i also enjoyed bogglegum from a friend who supposedely knows a grower. i also found that very tasty, smooth and potent. please help me decide out of these 2. i'm interested in a plant that does not stink while growing too much, would a blueberry plant stink as much or more than a bogglegum plant? i like a tasty smoke more than a powerful smoke. i like the unique " trippiness" of both. very unique.
what out of the 2 is your preference and why?
thanks
vin :joint:

have you grown much before?

BB is a little picky with nutes and pH. i have some DP BB going right now. it is also very stinky in veg. more than pretty much any strain i've had before though i usually stick with the low-odor strains.

if you are a good grower then do whatever strikes your fancy, but if you are still learning like i am get a BOG strain and some pure blend and use bOG's KISS method. this will greatly reduce variables and they yield like mofos.

hope this helps

no, never grew yet. just been learning as much as possible last few months.
so, BB stinky huh? i guess i'm leaning more towards boggle. what other potent, high yielding, low odor plants do u know of, or have experience with?

i am glad i read your post. i may write a piece by noobs for noobs on this very topic.

have you looked at BOGs KISS method and the feeding schedule in his vendor forum enitled "BOG speaks part2" they are very helpful and you can cross check your progess with his and elminate variables, because that is ultimately what this hobby is about.

the first thing is this... whatever you grow is going to be amazing because you grew it. it's like eating your own tomatoes. my first grow was from bagseed and it was great. i wouldnt recommend this because it is a crap shoot.

i have pm'd BOG and SMokey puffmaster to ask them about easy to grow strains and they reccommended nirvanas white rhino. they are cheap and if you screw up you are only out $15. i ended up saving my blueberries thanks to a $50 pH pen. This would be one of the first tools i would afford when setting up a new grow it would have helped me so much.

i wouldn't recommend BB it is expensive and a little finicky and it is not that big of a yielder. reeferman has some interesting easy to grow low odor strains like his afghans and the black widow or the reeferman's hashplant.

if i were starting over and trying to have a good succesful grow i would probably go with bogglegum, bogbubble, or lifesaver. you will have a lot of help and resources in BOGs vendor forum.

are you set up and ready to go otherwise?

i like DJ's BB. real stinky, stone not very debilatating but is of high quality, taste is great, this pheno smells like skunky licorice, and this pheno is a low yielder.

Low Odor

Low Odor

Hey, Vin...Try a Northern Lights strain, maybe NLxBigbud from feminised Seeds, or browse the supply at Seeds Direct for a Low Odor strain.
also address your Odor suppression system BEFORE you plant your seeds, you will be happy in the end! :whip: ...Reeferman's Purple Pineberry is supposed to have "Very Low Odor"-try that one, too...According to BOG, Bogglegum is low odor, as well....

Be mindful--Low Odor does NOT mean NO ODOR...Prepare your indoor space before you plant!!!! :canabis:

Either way, best of luck to you!! you'll love the results!!! :joint:

Might not be a bad idea to do your first grow w/ bagseed. That way you can make (and learn from) your mistakes w/o spending a bunch of cash. Alot of people start that way. But, if you've got your heart set on "kind bud", the best advise I can give a newbie is "Don't over-care for your plants!" ie over-water, over-fertilize. Good luck w/ whatever you decide to grow! thanks, i thought i read something that bog doesn't recommend any fertilizer. is this true? are nutrients and fertilizer different? i may be wrong.

I don't think it's so much that BOG doesn't recommend fertilizer, as much as he's saying to just start with healthy, rich soil with a few amendments (blood meal & bone meal, etc.), and let the soil do what nature meant for it to do. Here's a link to BOG's official position on marijuana cultivation, where you'll see within the first few paragraphs that he does recommend limited supplementation:

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=4986

I know that when I get my first grow going, it will be in soil and the only thing I'll add is water. But then, my primary goal is to produce organic, healthy weed, and my last priority is yield. Believe it or not, you can produce big, beautiful plants (including marijuana) using regular old healthy soil with plenty of organic matter that the plant can use.

And, to bring this back to the original topic... You just couldn't go wrong with either BOG's Bogglegum or DJ Short's new (or old, depending on your perspective) version of Blueberry. I like Lord Siva's idea: go with both!

right now my bagseed smells kinda skunky and my bogglegum smells like a green housplant. IM around day 14 of veg. Definetly go with a nirvana strain if youd like to save money, Ive heard nothing but good things bout them. Check out abby normals bud shots in the flower pics forum and his "The old man and the seeds" thread at overgrow.com. He has some beautiful pics of some nirvana strains that may help you decide. Good luck growing your own and keep the vinegar out of the grow room, please.
