Blue Wreck smoke report

Found this down in santa barbara cali for $60 1/8th, $120 1/4, $240 a half and $480 an oz, ouch! where go the discounts for big tokers!?

This was what the budtender recommended at hortipharm in the sativa category, it looked very frosty and packed a strong smell, though it turned out to be fairly low quality in the high. Was expecting to have something with a little more racey feeling to it as it has the wreck in it, but this stuff was about half as potent as a standard wreck sack. Quick low flying buzz comes on and lasts for about 30 minutes, has a nice up lifting feel to it, but it quickly fades to a boring indica high that is barely noticeable. The first bowl can make you sweaty, because of that i was expecting it to creep up any min and surprise me but it just never came.

Smell was very musky smelling, reminded me very much of the smell of lambsbread and blue dream. There was a little more berry to it that those though, very spicey berry smell to it when you break it up, sorta reminded me of lavender.

Texture of it was nice, soft buds that were full and chunky, a small piece breaks down to a good amount of smokeable product, not brittle or too dry at all.

Taste of it was lack luster, earthy with a slight hash undertone and a little bit of fruit tucked away in there.

overall this would be good bud to sell if you were running, err profiteering, a med mj dispensary, as it has good bag appeal and a short duration to keep the customers coming back for more regularly.

Comment: large chunky nugs in the jar I saw, there werent too many scragglers in there, the nugs are fairly soft to the touch, not brittle at all and they stay together pretty well. looks very similar to lambsbread strain, almost identical except for the lighter coloring of the pistils.

2. Visible Trichomes: 9.5
Rate the visible trichome content from 1-10 none-totally covered.
Comment: extreme frost, some nugs are totally white, insides and outsides have large trichs, some nugs in the jars can be trimmed better but all of the trim is frostier than most run-of-the-mill herb.

Comment: great texture, not brittle at all but soft nugs that you can squish and they spring back.like coco hah. they are very solid and chunky, dried right and possibly has a little time in the jars too, i like older herb that is still fresh, it burns like it should.

Comment: Very weird how this stuff changes in smell as your sniffin it, as you take one sniff it hits you with the musky funk that is on lambsbread and blue dream that is popular in the bay area or nothern california. The difference is those two strains are musky and almost moldy smelling, this one turns from that to sweet in a hearbeat. the smells is musky and then just full on berry spice. If i didnt know better, judging by the smell, id say this was a cross of lambsbread or blue dream and lavender.

That sounds tasty but that sucks it lacked a long lasting high ( a signature trait of the wreck)

A few months ago i smoked some Purple Trainwreck (urk x wreck) that was some of the best herb i ever smoked a perfect balance high, the urk gave you alittle longer stone and the wreck made it more interesting....

Oh and the best part was you got both tastes and smells from the bud...

The SSR should have a smell catagory that says TRAINWRECK because that shit is hard to describe

yeah i was hoping for something a little better, that urkle hybrid sounds like a tasty treat to try, ive got both of those sittin around so maybe ill see if i can get em to hook up a few beans for me next grow.

Thats one thing missing from this, was besides the trichome coverage there wasnt much reminding me of the wreck. Id like to see something where i can see both qualities expressed well.

i live in santa barbara and i know this strain. it's Blue Goo X Arcata Trainwreck. its one of my favorite strains and a pleasure to grow. there are 3 phenos, and the one you smoked unfortunately happens to be the worst one. i dont say that to offend, but merely to let you know that there were two phenos you would absolutely love and are considered elite strains locally. im guessing the herb you got was grown by someone who got lucky with some bag seed, cause none of us that grew it ever used that pheno.

in case anyone else is still growing this out there - let me describe the phenos. i lost the mother plant i had (Blue Wreck #1) but i have access to rebreed. maybe make some beans.


my favorite
- Trainwreck pheno (Blue Wreck #1)
appearance: very chunky spirals, dense bud. yellow hairs. looks light green with some blue in the frosty trichomes (if grown with high light intensity) - best grown 75-80 days... but anything after 70 is acceptible for killer smoke. very, very crystally - full of trichs.
aroma: the familiar lemony, piney, petrolium, with mild undertones of more grape than the usual Blue Goo 'blue berry' taste.
taste: Lime-grape Petrolium... amazing.
high: instant head change with a 5-10 minute creeper that hits like a train. with one or two hits this is a functional weed for med users who smoke frequently, its a nice but very strong head high with body tingles and numbness. when smoking multiple bowls or a joint, this weed causes serious couch lock and euphoria, excellent for intense pains (such as migraines.) best used for pain as it offers relief for nearly 2 hours.

- Blue Goo pheno (Blue Wreck #2)
appearance: chunky, dense bud. darker green than the TW pheno and with blue to purple coloring on bud surfaces closest to the light (if grown with high light intensity.) yellow to orange hairs - best grown 65-75 days... but even pulled at 60 days is decent smoke.
aroma: Fresh baked berry pie with blue berry jam on top, and a twist of lemon & pine
taste: Fruity, blue berry, undertone of lemon-lime.
high: instant head change followed up quickly with a strong but functional body high - it weighs you down but doesnt stop you. effective duration is about 1 hour. smoking alot brings on couch lock and/or sleep. great pain med, just not as good as the TW pheno - as the duration isnt as long.

- runt pheno (Blue Wreck #3)
appearance: chunky, more airy bud than other phenos. lots of trichomes. grass green with white-yellow hairs (yellower if taken to 70+ days) but in this pheno trichs show ready in 56-65 days. if taken 70+ days the head high can be extremely intense and induce pretty bad paranoia, buds taken 70+ days have mostly orange pistils.
aroma: Spicy blue berries, with many undertones of Pine, Hash, Menthol, and Floral.
taste: Earthy berry taste, aftertaste of skunk/spice/hash with a hint of lemon-lime.
high: takes at least one bowl and/or nearly a joint of this stuff to get a decent high - the high is average and lasts about half an hour. it's mid-grade bud, while the other two phenos are top-shelf. these phenos were always cut and made hash with... they were good for hash

Sauron I've read almost all your smoke reports they're always quality. Sucks about the Blue Wreck being shitty, I just got some decent G13. Nothing crazy but it definitely gives you a nice soaring head high. Smoked 4 blunts of it too I got LIIIFTED
