I gave her the chop on the 19th. I don't have the exact date started, but she went between 69-75 days. It was pretty cold the last couple nights and it brought out some very nice colors, lotta trichs. She's hanging to dry right now, should have an early smoke report by the weekend.

I was thinking it was 73 days hesh. You did perfect. You kept the plant healthy right up to the flush and then it used itself up because your flush worked. If flushing makes a difference you did it to perfection.

Yeah Hesh , very worthy pics . Looks like you nailed her , on yer first try . Perfect amount of cloudy , amber trichs , and even if let go longer , tha head still remains high !
Look forward to hearing your smoke report and opinion on her . I have found that my work produces more quality plants than what you would find in many dutch seed offering today , and one reason why GrindHouse was established .

Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words. Ickis, yes I'm pleased with how the flush went on this plant, pretty spot on I think. I just give 'em plain water for the last two weeks, makes em use up all they got left, kinda mimicking what happens outdoors in the fall I guess. Nugs burn nice with white ash.
Some quality plants indeed Steele, great work and thanks for putting these beans out. I'll be lookin for some more Grindhouse stuff in the future. This Sonja gal will be stickin around for a while, I've got two more waiting for some space to free up. I also used Sonja male #3 on my 90-day haze-dom SSH and Orange Diesel, ended up with about 130 seeds of each cross. I'm sure there will be some interesting stuff in there. The seeds from the SSH are some of the biggest I've ever seen.

For the report:

Plant was cut on the 19th, hung to dry, then paper bagged, and jarred a couple days ago. I don't have a final weight figure, no scale, but while the amount of nug doesn't seem much they're all rock solid; i'd estimate around 15-20g. Note: some nugs had already been smoke at time of photo. Heh.


Opening the jar, there is an earthy smell, a little whiff of lemon/sweet, but relatively low odor.
Here's the nug I am sampling. About the size of a quarter. Breaking up it has a stronger smell, and even small amounts leave your fingers sticky and fuzzy with trichomes and some nice finga hash.


smoke: very smooth, earthy taste, again not terribly strong but classic/oldschool taste. Very quickly you can feel the effects creep up thru your body and into the dome. This shit hits you right in the forehead and top of yer head, my forehead feels a little "droopy" if that makes any sense. Almost like a headband. Very relaxed body feeling, real nice. You can feel the increased effects of every single toke. I've been smoking SSH for a while and the Sonja rank right up there with it. A hit or two will do ya for the daytime, a whole bowl and yer day's hittin the brakes for sure.

By the time I am posting this it's an hour and a half later. Total time trap, my head is still buzzin super hard, from preliminary bowls earlier this week the effects seem to last upwards of 3 hours or so, throttled the whole way. Thanks again Steele, this is some top shelf headies.

Edit: 4.5 hours after my tester bowl and still a little fuzzy in the dome, more or less about over. Most smokes only last around 2 hours or less for me, the SSH goes around 3 as best as I can remember. Overall, in terms of ease of growing/appearance/density/smell/flavor/smoke I give the Sonja a 9.5/10, could smell a little stronger but by no means a strike against. Great all around plant.
I'll update again when the next two gals go into flower.

Bagseed, I havn't been smoking it very regularly due to limited stash and for the fact that when I smoke it I can't get much else done. When I do smoke a bowl of it, just crippled man. When I smoked it a few days ago, soon as you take the hit you can feel it in yer dome. It gets you so up there, difficult to do much other than exist. And you stay that lifted for a good solid two hours until it slowly starts to recede and you can think about doing something, slowly fading out over another two hours or so, makes my brain feel fuzzy afterwards. The smell as it cures has been improving greatly, very earthy, as well as the taste.
