Blowfish F2s from Three Little Birds Recently Popped

I have no idea how many packs were released I wasn't online when these were fresh in the community.
A few years ago I was gifted a small collection of "valuable" genetics with the agreement that I would do seed increases to preserve the lines and send fresh stock back to the gal who gifted me the packs. Blowfish was one of those and the vial they came in is labelled Dutch Flowers, Blowfish F1 , Breeder originals.
When I pop them I will be happy to share the grow here somewhere. It will be a major project when it goes down.

Maybe they are the "tester" packs I heard Dutch Flowers sent to a few people before the public release of Blowfish - someone mentioned that in a 2006 Icmag thread. Good luck with the seeds - I'll be following that grow for sure!

i recently received some BSHW seeds which I thought were extinct but apparently ndnguy had some and passed them around

I decided to pick the balls off the three that went hermi and made it a daily practice - just to see how they finish with their female parts. Meanwhile, I still have copies of all four in the mom/pop room. At some point, I will flower them all again - maybe they'll decide to pick a sex - being older and more mature.
De-balled Blowfish 3 is budding up fast:

Blowfish 1 is still only showing female parts - but not too many of them - compared to the others, she's barely flowering. I may have to wait until after daylight hours peak at the equinox to get buds on this one:
I'll be up-potting Blowfish 1 soon.
The big development - no berry here - the hermies smell like jasmine, which was one of the phenos Three Little Birds worked with when they made the F2s.
Tynehead Tom - when you do your Blowfish project - my Blowfish 1 would be happy to meet any males you may find.

Absolutely. I will try and fit those in to this fall/winter indoor.
They are only getting older and I have been curious to pop those myself but keep getting distracted LOL
If I'm not mistaken, it was either 12 or 20 packs. Some of the more rare lines to ever be released.

when I smoked this stuff on that trip she called it Fugu and that she held the clone for years and got the seeds at the same time as getting the clone. This a 70+ year old Oregon coast hippie gal that is my friend's aunt. I remember because when she handed me the seeds I looked at the label and it didn't say Fugu on it, it said Blowfish. When I asked about that she said they were the same thing but the clone was called Fugu.
I'm not very savvy on the history strains and breeders who came to be between 2000 and 2015. I joined the internet of weed at the end of 2015 and didn't grow between 2005 and 2015 either. I suppose finding that these are quite rare surprises me but it also gives me some motivation to grow them and seed increase the beans I do have here. They are well stored at -18C so this winter I will get to poppin them

Fugu is a blowfish hybrid. It's bubba kush x blowfish.
There was a clone floating around of it for a while in certain circles.
You may have actual blowfish seeds or a hybrid. Either way both lines have been highly coveted.
I believe hazeman or motarebel made the fugu kush. Maybe a collab. I remember them being involved somehow.

The other seeds of Blowfish I have are F2's that were made by former icmag member beanz who used to drop at the old seedbay for the server fundraisers. Not sure where he sourced the seeds he used but they came to me labelled Blowfish F2. I don't think he dropped them in the Gypsy Nirvana Fundraiser but I know he handed some healthy packs out to a select few here privately. Between the two seed lots I have 51 seeds so should be more than ample to find some decent plants to work with.

After a few weeks of faithfully de-balling the Blowfish 2, 3 and 4 seed plants, they seem to have stopped making them - here's what a de-balled Blowfish 3 bud looks like today:
Meanwhile, Blowfish 1 is still pure female and is starting to bud up a couple weeks later than the others:
It doesn't look like a clamshell anymore, but you can see the fat pre-flower at the bottom of the pic that initially fooled me into thinking Blowfish 1 was a male, but it elongated and popped out a pistil weeks later:
I still have copies of all four vegging in the mom/pop room and am working on cloning them all to do an indoor run to see if the hermie tendencies in the 3 out of the 4 seed plants change at all when they are grown from clone.

Hi bigsur51! Yup, Blowfish 2, 3 and 4 all smell like jasmine. Not totally sure on my only female, Blowfish 1 yet - I should know in the next few weeks if she's a jasmine pheno too.
they had some interesting unique smell..I thought I was kinda like roses

Well - Blowfish 2, 3 and 4 were all flowered again and again they all went hermi.
Blowfish 1 has stayed full female and is very slowly flowering out still - this is all the development she has done in the nearly two months since the spring equinox - looking like larf city right now:
A closer look:
She's been the opposite of what I had in my original 3LB seed pop in the mid-2000s - my keeper from then (and all the other females that popped) would have been finished and had a couple weeks of cure by now if she was on the same schedule as this one has been on. The terps on this one are smelling like jasmine.
We'll see how she finishes and, since she's the only one out of the four that is solid on sex - I'll flower her out again as a clone (the one in the pics is the original seed plant) to see if she finishes faster - but, a flowering time of over 8 weeks is just not very Blowfish.
I'm probably going to shred the parent clones of Blowfish 2, 3 and 4 into the compost pile this weekend - there's just no room for hermies in the mom/pop room - no matter how rare they may be.

I’ve got a few iterations of Blowfish from Huesos / Wesos he sent years ago; I believe he said they were already quite old when he sent (decades), presumably same things right?
Was he the one breeding them like purple peyote or no, do you recall…?
He also sent numerous iterations of the Pre98 Bubba K x to it & others; man I’ve gotta dust off the vault & pop a lot of things this winter

I ordered F2s from Three Little Birds on Heaven's Stairway in 2005 - so that's about the time F2s (and S1s) made from the original Dutch Flowers F1 plants were made available by Three Little Birds and Jojorizo. I don't know who Huesos/Wesos is/was - but, he'd have to possess at least one female and one male F1 to make the F2s. Unless he's an alter ego of Three Little Birds or Jojorizo, or got the plants from them he wouldn't be able to make F2s - Katsu kept only one female F1. But, I've been hearing there were Dutch Flower test packs sent out to certain people - so, there could have been other F1 plants floating around besides the ones held by Three Little Birds, Jojorizo and Katsu.I’ve got a few iterations of Blowfish from Huesos / Wesos he sent years ago; I believe he said they were already quite old when he sent (decades), presumably same things right?

So - you may as well pop them - they may actually turn out to be really good.
