Silence of the lambs was a good movie but I hate killing and eating people.
I just downloaded Blow and watched it a few days ago. Yes it's a great movie.
And no it does not glorify being a drug trafficker. How does it glorify beign a coke trafficker? The guy gets rich then loses it all, loses his wife, his daughter and sits in a jail cell thinking about everything he lost.

well it's a hollywood movie and they make it so we feel bad for this George Jung character. In the movie he seems like a nice caring guys, loves his dad and daughter, seems to be a good guy etc.
but the thing is this guy knew the risks of his actions and still decided to break the law knowing what could happen. He had already gone to prison for smuggling marijuana and then he comes out and starts trafficking coke. Do the crime and you'll eventually get busted and pay the pricem, whether it's fair or not.

I really want some good coke. I had some the other night but it was a load of shit, well it didn't make me feel on top of the world put it that way and it burned my throat. i hate buying coke because it's hard to judge the purity and it's a damn rip off.

Movies have a way of changing the story to make the character more loveable. In reality George didnt get screwed over, not even once. The real story is George was an out of his mind junkie and let the coke fog his brain. he didnt get screwed out of his cali connect. He was too high and introduced carlos ( called diego in the movie) to his cali connect and knew they were doing runs together and didnt care.
Also he didnt lose 60 million in panama, he blew it all not tracking how much he spent. He put 60 million in there yes, buut he didnt account for his ridiculous spending and when he wen tto cash out the money had been gone.
The end was a bunch of bullshit as well. Didnt happen that way. Yes he got busted in Fl like the movie showed, but thats where the movie stopped. What happened next is George was asked by pablo to testify against carlos ( diego) and in return George got his sentance chopped and he walked free. But he then went to mexico and hooked up with his old crew from the 70's and started flying pot back to the states, again. And he got busted , again. So no whe is rotting in a cell with noone to blame but himself.
George is a perfect example of how to blow an oppurtunity. He was givenchance after chance but he couldnt help himself. Read the book if you want a real account what happened. He wasnt that bigtime, just worked for some bigtime dudes. Carlos was the brains , george was just a well paid smuggler, nothing more. Hardly a kingpin ever
