the funniest thing i am reading here is this idea of an addictive personality. if you believe in that, you don't want to do anything unless you get permission from someone with a brain. don't even make you're own sandwiches anymore. don't even open your eyes when you wake up in the morning. wait for someone to tell you it's safe to look. as friggin if someone doesn't have an addictive personality, they won't get addicted to that shit.

dont matter what the type is, you do that shit, you get addicted. might be lucky enough to be ok after the first hit but that aint got a damn thing to do with some personality.

yall gotta remember, there's a difference between marijuana and cocaine. cocaine deserves to be a schedule I narcotic. just because we want marijuana freedom doesn't mean cocaine ought to be next on the agenda.

I disagree, I personally don't partake, but I know a few buddies that do a few lines maybe 1-2 times a month (and it's very high quality stuff). Everyone is different, but just because the majority of people can become addicted to the stuff doesn't mean everyone does.
Also, I believe some people do have addictive personalities, a good example is cannabis. Some people have a very hard time not smoking up their whole stash, while others can have it in front of them for weeks and not smoke.

Anyways, this forum is about cannabis and we should keep it to that.

For a forum comprised of cannabis smokers, it doesn't seem like many people know much about drug use. Maybe its a good thing, but you can't call a chemical evil, the only thing thats bad about it is how a person handles their lives once they have partied so much as to become addicted to the chemical, thats where-in the problem lies.

the question is whether or not that chemical is actually addictive. habit-forming and addictive are two different concepts. if you're a habitual marijuana smoker you're far from addiction. if you're a coke addict, you're far beyond the idea of habit. i think anyone mistaking their addiction for a habit or visa versa is sadly mistaking their abuse for use.

i'd have to ask GardenDweller what would happen if his friends stopped using coke or can they stop using it? being able to support your addiction is not a sign of not being addicted. i'd bet they use a lot more often than you know! little sniffle here and there. bathroom breaks from time to time. yeah, we all only know what we've seen and what we're told. i've seen too much nasty shit and i've been told the truth about cocaine and not from some govt propaganda program or DARE officer.

Blow is overrated... not talking about the movie. If it is to be outlawed I think caffeine should be too.

I agree, the results of cocaine addiction and caffeine addiction are indistinguishable. Let's ban them both!

Yeah wow, first time I saw this movie I was high out of my mind and it really broke my heart at the end, I even shed a tear. It's just so ****ed up. Won't ruin it for those who haven't seen it but it's a damn good movie for sure. It made me sorta wanna do a line or two also lol. I never have but I have though of doing it but then the thought of caine addiction scares me. I really don't like to become dependent to anything I can't provide my self with..which is basically marijuana lol...sorry rambling.. :joint:

To answer your question yes, they can and have stopped for long periods of time. They just happen to do it everyonce and a while, while they go out to bars all night. There is a difference between drug use, and abuse. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, just because people get strung out on meth, H, or coke doesn't mean everyone who uses the drug becomes addicted. Maybe it has to do with the people you surround yourself with? My buddies compare it to a ton of coffee just to keep them going, and no they don't go around sniffn' or having extra bathroom breaks. I'm not going to say that I know wtf they are doing all the time, but they have causally used drugs for a long time.

Reguardless, I don't tell anyone what to do with their body, and they don't tell me what I can do with mine. I don't give a rats ass if someone wants to spend all their money on stuff like that.

Blow was a good movie, well done by depp and everyone else in the movie.

Picture the most electrifying, racy, wide eyed, clear as it gets, go go go buzz sativa ever and then multiply it by 10. Makes ya wanna talk forever. Just listen to eric clapton.

"If ya wanna hang out, you got to break it out......... cocain"

HOWEVER it is horribly addictive, (not as bad as some legal ones, but bad) and to damn expensive!!!! Look at all the celebrities who are in rehab. If someone had unlimited $$$ and like to socially party,? Anyway, blow has some serious side effects. Quite often making it not worth doing.

*edit*

I 100% agree with this. People use different drugs for different reasons. I have friends as well in the same boat. Very ocasionally.

If you guys liked Blow go rent Cocaine Cowboys. Its basically is a documentary about the real people that Blow is based on.

YES, Cocaine Cowboys told the story from people who were there and showed BOTH sides, the good, the bad and when I say bad I mean BAD.

One of the best documentaries out.

Blow

I personally liked the movie "Blow" enough to buy the DVD.

According to Coke:

I didn´t try it jet, but know quite a lot of people who did.

Some of them are mentally addicted in a very bad way, and one could really say, that, at least in parts, it ruined their lives.

But on the other hand: It´s never the drug alone that does the harm, but the people who (ab)use it with the wrong intentions.

To be honest: That good drug bad drug thing is a little annoying at times.

I know people who snort coke for many, many years now, but only occasionally, and they don´t have any kind of "Cocaine problem" at all.

The worst thing you can do is smoke it or inject it, that´s when the real problems come into play.

A nice book on Cocaine is:

"Coca and Cocaine: A Scientific Blowjob" by Dr. Christian Rätsch and Jonathan Ott.

Quite ineterresting and very funny to read, even for people like me, who eventually will never touch any Cocaine at all.

I'm not one of those people who has a cop mentality about drugs and I really don't give a damn what people do with their bodies, however even the occasional cocaine user overdoses. It almost happened to me one night, i used to use everything that was around as long as it was free. I thought I knew what I was doing until one might I could literally see my heart beating out of my chest. I never touched that ****ing shit again.

plus cocaine has killed 1 person i know, my sister was an addict, my father was an addict, and I've known 2 people in prison for it. its ****ing stupid and not worth it. not only that but its not good for you AT ALL. if you need an upper theres plenty of natural ones out there that wont kill you, or you could just try eating a healthy diet, going to bed, and getting plenty of vitamins and I never get tired. I used to work 12 hours a day on construction sites too.

F U C K the glorification of such a shitty drug. Just smoke weed guys, it wont kill you and it has positive effects for your mind and body. The same can't be said about some shitty white powder you snort up your nose.
