Thanks for the kudos fellas. wildgrow, I'm not really good at describing taste. Mrs smilley would tell you that it all tastes harsh, but that doesn't prevent her from choking back almost as much as me. For me, the Blockhead is a bit smoother, but once in a while the HSD will smell and taste much like the Hawaiian Snow which is a pleasant oniony taste.

So I harvested the 4 Blockheads today at day F75. About a week early but I have other priorities. Looks like the large pheno will yield about 50g per plant and the small pheno about 35g per plant. The buds are rock hard fruity smelling.

Damn! HSD looks amazing and as wg said they have really fattened up at the end. I tried to nominate you for pic of the month but can't get the picture to show up.


Just got my snow jars restocked from a buddy and have a clone from the standard version finishing up in the next month. Also found out my nearly year old hs pollen still has some virility, got some more crosses in the making. I truly hope I can get that unique terpene profile to pass on so it is refreshing to hear you say you get some oniony hints in the hsd. Loving the show as always!

The HS is some mighty fine smoke bloyd. I love that smell. Top shelf bud for sure. Good to hear that the pollen is still viable. A great breeding tool for you. That pollen will add vigor and yield to whatever you cross it with. Probably stretch the flowering time too but its all good.

I'm going to run the HSD again next year alongside a different strain of some sort. I've been following killerweeds Chocolope thread and think it might be a good companion for the HSD or maybe Chocolope Kush. Decisions, decisions.......

The 4 Blockheads are finally dry. They took a remarkable 7 days to dry (a testament to the bud density I guess). Total dried weight is 235g. I didn't weigh each plant seperately, but a good guess would be around 45g per small pheno and 70g per large pheno. A respectable return but these plants were vegged for over 100 days. The taste is milder and smoother than the HSD but the potency is lower. The fresh trim only produced 0.8g of hash which is significantly lower than the 3 grams I was expecting.

All in all, the Blockhead is an interesting hybrid, but the long flowering time and lower potency make it a non starter in my books. Also, there is quite a bit of variation between the phenotypes so if you do grow it, try to clone the bigger more vigorous phenotypes. The Blockhead is quite tolerant to feeding and took the recommended 25ml/gal of PBP Bloom in stride.

I will enjoy smoking this half pound of Blockhead buds over the next 6 months or so.......

This is the final crop of the season. 8 HSDs vegged to 18 inches, flowered for 6 weeks under a 360 converion bulb in the veg room and now at day F69 around the 600hps. The conversion bulb gives me the flexibility to get 3 12 week crops off in 9 months starting from seed. 2 weeks to go....

Hey man. Wanted to check in. Everything looks dank as fuck. And u know me, I love the blockhead. I know it may not be the best cash cropper but its unique dank in its own right... and I love the taste.
Any dried shots of the hsd or blockhead? If not noworries.
Btw where did the hsd come from and what were the parents? Itdef looks like a champ

Hi medman, the HSD is a hybrid of Bog LSD x Reservoir SD crossed to Hawaiian Snow. An excellent potent strain with medium yield and lots of potency. Like the Blockheads, 11 - 12 weeks to flower.

Ok, I was bashing the potency of the BlockHead throughout this thread and I have to change my opinion. I've been smoking it regularly for a couple of months now and I have to say, it makes me plenty stupid. Just as stupid as the HSD. Now, I'm just a few weeks from running out of both and the one I'll miss the most is the BH. That may be parly because I don't have any BH seeds but lots of HSD.

I don't think any of the BH f2's are available but I think there's quite a few crosses still available through Bean Ho.
