Yeah.....having seen some of those Deep Chunk pics over in Tom's forum, I was really stoked when I was gifted a bunch of DC and DC hybrid beans.

Got a Spoetnik #1 x DC in the flower tent waiting to sex, and a (Dr Atomic's NL x DC) and a Lemon Thai x DC in veg at the moment, so we should be seeing some more chunky stuff soon.

Not much trichomology in the tent at the moment....early days still. Gonna take me a while yet to get the cycle working at full capacity.

Yeah, I hear you on the question of quantity and quality. Nice to be self-sufficient at the least.
I always grew under hps before, so I'm unsure of what to expect with my LED, in terms of flowering (obviously gonna scrog under it). No probs with veg though, they seem to love it.
I'm gonna have to hook up another at least 1 light to get a vegbox on the go.

Hows the LTxDC looking in veg? That sounds like it could be a winner. Lets hope shes a girl!

The current LTxDC is still at the seedling stage......but looking very "Chunk".....fat leaves. This is one of the first pioneers to be born into a coco/compost mix, and given regen-a-root from birth, so I have high hopes for performance.

Put visually......in a couple of weeks, I expect it to look like this Spoetnik x DC, currently awaiting sexing.

The Black Cheese.....such a beautiful plant.....is showing preflowers.....could go either way....but I have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach...tomorrow we'll know for sure, I think. But here's what I can see....

Whats the word on the black cheese? The deep chunk cross is looking burly. Have never made seeds myself, but like the idea. Will get round to it one day, when everything else is dialed in and I've got some strains worth playin with. And at least it gives the clouds a silver lining when the 'girls' sprout knackers!
Agree entirely about the 'world on a string' thread, that is a good read. I also like the way it illustrates the fine line between genius and madness. Also, the outdoor scrog was fuckin amazing.
Anyway, we're due some cold weather this week. I'm a bit worried about the low temps in my loft, here lies the problem with a ghetto grow. I'd like to have more of the variables under my control. Have done all I can to reasonably keep temps up. An hps would be nice for the winter months, but having had to restart from scratch, ghetto is what I've got for at least one flower cycle.

The Black Cheese is......dead. A pity, but maybe it will serve as a salutory lesson to the others! The amount of dankitude emanating from the tent when the light and extractor are off has reduced by about 75%

On the flip side, the Spoetnik x DC is a girl, and is now ensconced in a big 10 litre pot directly under the HPS.

The BJ #2 finally seems to have stopped stretching, just a hair taller than the reflector. Or at least, I think it's stopped stretching.....if it puts on another spurt, I'll have to do a bit of supercropping, beacause it's well gloomy up in the rafters above the reflector. Looks to have an outstanding calyx/leaf ratio. Every node has a stalk just covered in calyces with just a token sugar leaf or two.

What the hell....I can't describe stuff for shit.....every node is like this....

Being a total stoner, I misinformed you on the LTxDC the other day......I was talking about the NLxDC......the LTxDC looks thus....a bit droopy, think I probably overwatered it.

And......for my good friend, JamieShoes, the first of the SSH....started off mutant-stylee, but seems to be conforming now it's in a bigger pot. I heard you're supposed to flower these small.....never a problem doing that here lol

The cold is noticeable....tent temps are 60f at lights on, and maxing out around 75f.....the veg cab is affected more....slows everything down.....c'est la vie.

That was exactly my thought...certainly not slacking in any department. I get a feeling she will finish quick.

I was at Mr DealerMan's place one night, waiting for the bud that came from to be dropped off by (I assume) the grower (I didn't meet him myself). As soon as we started rolling one up, it was apparent that about half the buds were pretty well seeded. Mr DM then picked up his phone and gave the aforementioned grower an absolute bollocking about crappy product, and demanded a severe discount. I finished my spliff and floated off into the night, leaving Mr DM giving this guy an absolute tongue-lashing over the phone......so my guess it's either a commercial clone, or something from a seedpack that got pollinated by some other seedpack male that the grower missed. Got a male earlier, so they aren't S1s.

Great news on the spoetnik x dc, shes gonna be a burly girly. The bj2 does look promising, how long did you veg her for?
Loving the mutant, I had some feminised DP bluberry seeds that started out looking a lot like that. They seemed to grow out of it, in much the same way yours seemed to have.

The Bj #2 had 3 days veg (3 days from appearance of first 3-bladed leaves)....8cm tall...which is pretty standard for the first wave of plants going in. Once I get a good stable of flowering plants in there, I will gradually increase the veg time until I can do sexing prior to flower.....but that's quite a way off. Next time I run BJ #2, I'll probably veg it for a similar time, or top it in veg.....I don't want to end up with too many plants that end up a foot tall, but equally, it's a PITA when things start hitting the ceiling.

I did think of DJ's stuff when the SSH first started acting weird, but I think it's more likely a stress reaction.....got 3 plants (all diff strains) that all runted/muted as seedlings, all at about the same time.....I think it either got too cold in the veg cab one night, or something in the water disagreed with them.

Just tried supercropping the BJ #2, as it is still inching upwards. SNAP! Oops.....maybe I should have tried a bit further down.

Duct tape to the rescue......we shall see if it works, or whether I've just given it one hell of a topping.....

Alrite Blimey...Things are looking good in your grow mate. How long you got until you getting a smoke from it?

Any plans on starting those Afghan#1 seeds from Sensi you got?

I've been smoking males (yuck taste - but probably about as strong as soap) and trimming lower buds off seeded plants. Just enough to keep body and soul together.

Next thing to finish properly will probably be just before Christmas (the Calio/MS), but the seeds will be ready before then, and I might gradually cannibalize it. Naughty, but some nights, you just need a smoke. I have very little willpower....especially with seeded plants, where I often chop the sinse buds early once the beans are ripe.

One of those Afghani #1 beans should be popped pretty soon. I tend to start new beans pretty much randomly. I'll keep you posted...

The duct tape wasn't making it.....so the BJ #2 has been topped (about the length of a cig. lighter). At least it should stay under the reflector now...

I'll look forward to the sprouting of a baby Afghan, think I need an Afghan in my life...The Sensi Skunk I put into germ, all 8 failed. Tried 4 straight into soil and 4 by soaking. Nothing ventured and all.

Hey, they won't pop at all unless you give them a go. Sucks when a whole pack luck out, though. Had that with Nirvana Sk #1....need to run a pukka Sk #1 sometime.

Now the Spoetnik x DC is confirmed female, I can't wait. Should be super-earthy/hashy. Haven't smoked something really hashy for a while. Everything seems to be lemon-flavoured nowadays.

The Spoetnik x DC is getting the VIP treatment. The biggest pot in the arsenal, and the best seat in the house, both under the HPS and first in line for the fresh air coming in.

Another beauty from the VG stable.....this Power Black gets inspected for preflowers several times a day....not this colour in real life....a more healthy middle-green. In a 6.5L pot.

Another Power Black - same seed batch.....4 litre pot.....12 days older than it's sibling, but only a fraction of the size. Very dark green with totally different leaf edges. One of the trio of plants that runted out in veg. I like this one.....don't think it'll do much, but a pretty little thing.

I love Brussels Sprouts....can't get enough of 'em.

That's the BJ #2, seeded with (LTxDC) and (CheesexDC) pollen. The unpollinated branches higher up are still making lots of pistils, but these are totally focussed on baby-making.
