Hi guys, first i would just like to thank blazeoneup for his threads,i cant thank you enough. A little warning that i ran into,I didnt take into account the root mass inside the buckets,by the end of week 6 i was still putting in as much water in the system as i was in week 1 this was forcing the plants upwards making the tops fall over. I used a 6 bucket setup with one 600w, and a light mover .two plants at the back of the grow, which i couldnt get to, toppled and bent over two weeks before harvest, having said that i ended up with 13oz of well trimmed bud, skunk no1 from sensi[fem] TONIO

Hey guys I have a 4.5' x 5.5' x 8' room. Everything would need to fit in there. I could mount the Rez up on the wall if need be, but I don't know how many bucket to fit, what size Rez etc. If you look at the grow in my signature you can see the size of the room. I was just truly to get suggestions on how many buckets, Rez, and controller sizes. If someone could help me out that would be great.

Thanks a lot,
J Budman

Not sure if I will get a response here, but figured I'd try, the knowledge is current even though the the thread is aged...

I'm building BOU's system, slight modifications due to layout of room...

I'm thinking of running one 1/2" feed line to supply 6 buckets each vs. BOU setup runs one line per 3 buckets, I realize I will only be able to isolate 6 buckets and BOU's design will allow isolation of 3 buckets per line but are there any other pros to running it his way? Im thinking if I can reduce the amount of line going to the buckets from the pump it would be more efficient. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Hey guys, I have never done hydro, so bare with me.

On this system, does the water pump run continuously?

How full do these buckets typically get?

Seems like a pretty easy setup and I wouldn't mind giving it a try on a smaller scale somewhere in the future.
Diversity baby ;)
Thanks,
sorry to revitalize this thread if that sort of thing is frowned upon

I'm about to build this exact setup but I have a question about rez changes. What's the best way to drain all the buckets and the controller and rez?

running this system for awhile best way to do the rez change is pump right out from control bucket, turn off feed pump or leave it on and use it to pump out system (have to switch line from going into feed line to draining somewhere), and buckets will drain along with control as all water level should remain even

Exactly like he said!

I was in a house with a perimeter (not slab) foundation, i just drilled a hole a mil or two over the diameter of my waste tube in the corner of the closet, so when it was time to change the res it just flowed down into the crawl space and soaked in/evaporated.

I was wondering why the Iris's on the side of my house were going so crazy, till one day i was gardening and saw the slight grade carried all that fertilized water right to them!

just a thought, are there any reasons why you could not instead of doing the work and hooking up 12 + buckets, you just made one large bucket instead (4x8 flood /drain table for example) and place a lid on top of that "large bucket", cut your holes for the net pots, top feeders, air stones etc.. recircing back into a res??
