PS. Although covid is spread through respirations and can cause damage to the lungs, in patients that have minor symptoms or are asymptomatic, the virus may still be circulating and causing organ damage, clots, etc.

I think this is due to the concept of negative rights - your right to do, be, think and say (and buy and sell) whatever you want so long as your behaviour doesn’t cause harm.

Some may argue that going back to school/work, gathering to protest during a pandemic can cause harm. Or not vaccinating and risk spreading preventable diseases can potentially cause harm, and thereby violate another citizens right to go about their business without being exposed to these things. Does my right to do as I please, which includes throwing shit at strangers, violate your right to buy your groceries without someone throwing shit at you? I don’t know the answer. Perhaps.

commonly acknowledged answer is - your right to swing your fists ends at the tip of another persons nose. so, that would be "yes"...law here says if you swing at and miss, you are guilty of assault, you do not have to actually make contact.
