this isn't the topic at hand and doesn't undermine my point in any way.
it is a wholly seperate incident, and i would like to stick to one topic at a time.
so back to the topic at hand:
these people were not children led into a cage by cookies on a string, they were adults and many (i would argue most) were out there with the intent of harming, kidnapping, killing or intimidating our lawmakers into disenfranchising millions of voters.
the particular terrorist in question, ashli babbit, was first to try and breach the secure area where (i assume secret service, perhaps a well dressed capitol police officer) was defending lawmakers and capitol staff. this group was shouting angry threats and were smashing windows and doors; she was warned with a gun pointed at her, and yet continued on. she was not led into a trap except by her own stupidity.
obviously a minor misunderstanding here RE the definition of "cod".
in these parts, being told that you are, or to eat, a "cod" is nothing nutritious, flavorful, nor even edible, unless one might be starving, female, or gay. having a "cod" for breakfast would be, to wit, sucking one that probably has warts or a venereal disease...
still have no idea why cannavore got banned...
i know this is going to sound crazy but i spent most of the day dealing with growing pot
i can't speak for the other mods,but for my part once many of the bad actors got banned and the back and forth insults more or less stopped then i was content to let things be...
in this case i can speak for the other mods,none of us really want to deal with modding here in the speakers corner...after all we're all supposed to be adults,and a certain amount of passion is to be expected...and it's a thankless task where it's difficult if not impossible to not have an opinion either way...
and once again,it's not like we get trained to do this...
that said,it's better for a mod to use the report post button so the rest of the team can discuss bans and use the recycle bin to remove post so they can be restored if need be...
the one exception to that would be someone directly insulting or threatening a mod...that won't be tolerated...for the most part...i'm willing to let a lot slide because i take part in these threads...but there is a line that shouldn't be crossed...
I’ll speak up for Cannavore. Not complaining about the mods though. It’s not my website. I’ve noticed a little more conversation lately which is good. I don’t think banning C had anything to do with that though. While I had several disagreements with him, I thought he remained fairly civil and added to the talk.

I have mentioned it before, everywhere I have been, where there was such a corner, it was nothing more than shit on a stick. We are talking archery, shooting, ATV etc... to name a few.

It got solved elsewhere (other forums), and I simply can't see why it can't be done here. Make the speaker's corner by invite only, or by requesting a pwd from one of the mods to attend/get in. Shit man, it's 2021... if this could be done way back in 2012, I can't see why we can't now. Not dissimilar to having access to some "groups" here. The day of changing the channel as gotten to be so lame. I think it is time for a reset from this cesspool! I was watching a program last night where it was stated that "social media" is a slow way of brainwashing folks, with the ultimate goal of causing divide. Guess what, they have succeeded!
In my humblest of opinions, politics should never be discussed on an open forum. It is simply asking for trouble.

I've heard rumor, and don't doubt it's possibility, that Facebook and other social media sites employ psychologists to help them figure out how to stimulate the pleasure center of the brain to in effect "addict" people to their platform.
The only social media I follow nowadays is Twitter to yell at shitty politicians and follow porn stars. I gave up Facebook after getting into an argument with a friend over Trump's bullshit, and he blocked me. I figured losing one friendship of 35 years was enough and ejected.
I went back for the first time a couple days ago, shook my head, and closed the tab.
I ain't ever going back there again.
Oh yeah, There's all sorts of chatter going on. So much so that even CNN has covered it a bit.
The Army is considering arming the National Guard.
I really hope nothing happens and it's all bluster. But I've got this sinking feeling that something bad is going to happen.
