RSD is Refrigeration Supply Depot.

Ive switched to stainless hoses with JIC connections throughout the system. Corrugated Stainless is rate for much colder temps than teflon lined hoses.

The same size hose as the megaflow in all stainless cost me 125 to get made locally.

Yup! I felt like the flood line is the only one that really needs to be ss....right? Shouldn't every other hose be handling gas, or only slightly chilled liquid?

Ya thats the only hose that really gets cold, Im sure teflon is fine for everything else. I would still go with the JIC ends to get rid of the ?rubber? gaskets, and also the brass.

So we finished an hour and twenty minutes sooner today, than yesterday.
Same 3 runs 2 washes each. It's not a game changer, but I enjoyed not getting
that rushed feeling at the end of the day.

Hell yes! Getting cycle times down is what I'm striving for! Keep us posted on your hoses.....

My mega flows were 3/8" diameter hose with 1/4' and 3/8' fittings....blue and red....hopefully those larger black ones are the ticket

We have hoses made at Motion and Flow, or Associated hose, with NPT on one end, to eliminate the flare, and a stainless JIC on the other, with which we use a copper crusher washer.

We use PTFE with a stainless overbraid on the Mk IV and V.

PTFE has a minimum constant operating temperature range of about ~ -273C, to 260C per http://www.druflon.com/ptfeprop.html.

Tensile strength is good at 4000 psi, especially when supported by the Chinese finger cuff over braid.

The ultimate tensile and percent elongation properties of 316SS are still good at cryogenic temperatures, so a convoluted stainless hose would also be a good choice. http://www.druflon.com/ptfeprop.html

Hey GW,

what about using ss tubing like the dip tube connected to valve #2 on the MK3?
specifically for the butane 'line in' @ sub zero temps....? Would that work?

Yup! Not very flexible, but would gracefully handle anything you are likely throw at it.

Hey,

I got the 5lb extractor for BHOgart at the Emerald cup this year. The first time I had a problem with the collection vessel locking up and my product came out a little brown. But after a few tweeks I got it right the second time with golden shatter. These guys provide excellent Tech support. I went and bought their 10 lb. extractor. yesterday.

Those of you using appions g5 twins, just wondering what kind of pressure you are seeing on the out gauge. Mine usually reads about 100psi, sometimes up to 125psi. Was wondering if this is normal. Thanks!

@b33man: can you take a picture of a 10lb extractor? I am curious what they are claiming can extract 10lb in one run lol.

Depends on how hot you are running the soup pot, if you are using an after cooler, and whether you have entrapped air.

Much over 125 psi, and I look for the reason. Usually entrapped non condensable air.

Wow! Mine is usually between 25 and 50psi. With the tank in a salted ice bath.

Yeah, my high side, (Right hand gauge) is usually between 25 and 50 psi, unless
I'm intentionally trying to build pressure to get the rest of the butane out.
Then with the can out of the ice bath, I can get it up to 75 or so. I'm using mostly
n-butane, but when I was running Power 7 it would run a bit higher until I vented
the propane.
