I had to chime in on this subject. I have smoked many oz's of bubblegum before. But this BOG medley plant I have growing is by far the sweetest thing I have ever tasted. I nocked a fan over on a branch and it broke so I dried and smoked it. I don't know excactly what 1 of his strain it is but she is the best I have ever tasted. Here is a few pics of her. I think she is Blue moon rocks or Bogglegum but thats just a guess

Anyone who has smoked this bud knows how good it is. Try it you will see. :joint:

Taste is without doubt just as important as potency. Not sure I would say it's more important, because I don't want to have to smoke a few grams to get high..

From what I've grown out Blockhead is my favorite tasting strain lately.

AK47 and AK48 were nice too. The AK47 was more fruity, and the 48 was more danky/skunky with some sweetness.

But my favorite tasting named strain I have smoked lately was the elite Champagne.

I have a huge list of elites/keepers that I'm flowering now and I'm sure I'll find some sweet ones within that list.

My favorite tasting smoke tho is a true roadkill skunk, the kind that needs 3-4 zips to partialy contain the smell, but barely.. The kind where loosing a roach in your car makes it smell like it's being hot-boxed full time. The kind of kind skunk that leaves an aftertaste in your mouth and back of your throat for about an hr after you smoke it.

Unfortunately, I have found nothing like that in all the commercialy avaliable skunks I have tried. I will be testing out the HTC Skunk IBL soon, which will hopefully end my search for some old skool skunk in seed form.

I also have about 50 days left until my orig Cheese plant in flower, and hopefully it has some great skunkyness to her.

Hey T2U, I indeed do know what you speak of, it has been my holy grail since I started growing again.

It was so prevelant in the commercial scene in my area it just baffles me why I couldn't find it easier via seeds, or even clone.

I realize now that it's out there, but whoever has it is being very protective with it. Most likely the criminal element in my area anyways.

On a pure taste basis, for me, there is absolutely nothing that tickles my tastebuds like a true skunk. It's sweet, it's dank, it's sometimes piney, and nostalgic.... It reminds me of my youth, and getting those great bags of skunk. The dealer didn't even need to pull it out and you knew he had it, you could smell it in the air, and you smiled to yourself cause you knew you were going to be smoking skunk soon.

I have found strains that have delivered better highs, but a real good skunk is no slouch.

I do hope the Cheese is gonna do it for me, but sadly, from reports, I don't think it's quite a roadkill. It's all sorts of skunk, but it does have some cherry in there, so not a true, full blown stinker. Altho I know it will probably be much closer to it than anything else I've grown so far. A little over 50 days and I should be able to tell how close it is.

I hold out really high hopes for the Hill Temple Skunk IBL, as OG Bub is not the type to hype up the skunk smell if it's not warranted. I got great faith and will be sure to give a detailed report of how she does in the HTC forum.

No, I haven't tried the Pure before, altho I have tried almost every other skunk avaliable. I was about to buy the Pure, but I tried some Sam's Skunk #1 (basicaly the same thing) and in the end there was nothing skunky about it. I did only have 13 SB freebies, and only 4 germed but only 1 seedlin made it above the soil healthy. Luckily it was a female, but unfortunately she chucked a couple bannas late in veg and had very low (but large, unlike most sat doms) trich coverage. It's not a good test to judge a strain by, but after finding a couple Pure growers it seams that there realy isn't any skunky phenos left in there, if at all.

I think there's some other strains out there that have a much skunkier smell than any of the 'named' skunks. For example stuff like Godbud, or even AK48 had more skunkyness than anything I grew with skunk in the name. Or I heard someone mention Pure Power Plant has some realy skunky phenos..

hmm, sounds like a good thread, Skunky strains without Skunk in the name... :chin:

I like the spicey musky sativa tastes like kali mist ,jack herrer

The last crop was fom unknown cutting's ,I wish I knew what they were!!
I had a Melon flavour sativa (best), Orange indica (got alot better with a cure),Lemon Indica (tasted good even fresh),and a super strechy sativa that tasted almost metlallic.

Hey T2U, Before IC went down and before the HTC forum disappeared there was a couple of threads about the new Skunk IBL offering from Bub.

Please don't quote me as this is based purely offer stoner memory, but I'm almost 100% sure that Bub said it would be a real-deal, old skool roadkill skunk.

He does have the right lines to bring that smell out I'm sure of it.

This is probably the most highly anticipated strain I've waited to grow yet, as I have yet to see any seedline that lays claim to giving us that skunky-skunkness that we all need and have been longing for. They should be on their way tommorow, so with in a few weeks I'll start a test thread in the HTC forum.

I have grown Nirvana's Super Skunk before, and got 3 girls from 5 seeds. None had even a decent skunk smell. More of an acrid, musty smell, maybe some skunk in there, kinda oily smelling, by no means pleasent. I did have one pheno that was pretty nice in terms of resin production, and fairly potent smoke with huge bag apeal and super dense nugs, but the taste was just not there, and nothing special overall by any means.

I have heard of some awesome SuperS cuts, but I fear these are more elite like and have nothing to do with the SS avaliable now a days.

The skunkiest plant from all the skunk I grew suprisingly came from White Label's White SKunk, which was also the cheapest. But that was only one pheno, and not skunky enough to keep. Also the WS wasn't very potent and had low resin production.

yeah the superskunk i had was from a guy that said he had the same mother for many years and this was back around 98 and he already said he had it for 10+ yrs back then, unfortunatly he got busted and lost the mom and we've never seen the same superskunk since either, it might have been the mass superskunk cut i'm not sure.

i think i'm gonna start a thread and see if OG BUB shows up and gives us some more understanding or advice.

Flavour is my next favourite thing next to the buzz.

I seem to prefer spicey/piney strains so my favourite by taste would be:
DP Passion #1
Hashplant would be runner up

As for fruity/Candy
Grape strains are always tasty
anything with Haze in it

best tasting thing i ever grew (i only grow cheap beans) were a couple sweet tasting blue mystic phenos and a tiger striped bagseed that had the most pungent ripe mango smell, smelled like a fruit market at the end of a hot day. both left sweet resiny taste on the roof of the mouth and tongue.

Hi!

Taste and potency are my first criteria.
My first choice for taste would go for the White Russian for both the taste and potency.

My second choice would go for a strain that I am trying to bring to Serious Seeds menu with a flowering time of 6.5 weeks. This strain taste like sweet papaya fruit punch. Potency is like the White Russian.

Respect
Claude
