I have a hot tip for all of you guy's who are paying to get your med license. You are all wasting your money for nothing.

I just recently had my prescription increased and renewed, and the only cost involved was my time and effort to get my ass to the clinic. I wasn't even charged for postage to have the renewal form mailed to Health Canada.

My weed Doc told me that only 5% of legit Doctor's support medical cannabis. The rest are all afraid of having their license revoked or being denied insurance for their practice.

Any Doctor or clinic that is charging you money for get a prescription and/or renewal is blatantly ripping you off. Moreover, they are more than likely breaking some kind of Federal law.

depends on how much you value your time. Including the appointment it took me 10 min in total. Worth every penny, even if yours took 3 hours of your time well worth every penny I paid in time.

So that being said, what would you suggest a guy do or where would one go? Seems like there is allot of people that want to knock people for purchasing a script. I agree completely. What a totally fucked up situation. Selling scrips by the gram, holy shit. The really fucked up part is that the people who actually need the licenses to grow medicine for themselves have to pay these outrageous prices too, not only the cheaters. These doctors should be ashamed of themselves.

I sold my house after the divorce so now I rent. My lease states no illegal activity. If I have no license then growing my meds is classified as just that. If I have the property manager show up 24 hours after notice to find I'm growing meds without a license then guess what... I'm evicted as well as my kids. So go ahead and say I have no balls. If paying a $500 tab to have a stupid piece of paper saying im gtg is what it takes, then I guess I have no balls whatsoever.

I've seen your posts and I respect your knowledge and experience so don't think im picking a fight. But I'm willing to bet you aren't one of those guys who performs tax evasion or drives your car with no registration or insurance, so how is that any different in the big picture?

There is a lot that can be said on this particular topic. Why can't you get your normal doctor to give you a script? A script for 30g a day, serious? We all know what you are doing. It is the price to pay the fiddler!

Tell them you need to make a balm because you don't want to smoke it. You need at least 30 grams of flower to make a half ounce.

I realize there are exceptions, sorry I offended you; but most people who go "legitimate" are not legitimately in need. Just a way to grow weed legally, and sell it.

And in most provinces it is legal to grow 4 plants, so it wouldn't be illegal activity.

If you think 500 bucks for a licence for 20-30g/day is gouging you need to get better yields. Its a small price to pay for peace of mind. And who is to say most normal Dr. will sign for ya. The clinic I use you pay because they don't bill ohip.

Its rather glorious no wait times for scripts, or to get appointments for other reasons, it just cost money. I like it, it works for me. When was the last time you called your doctor and could have an appointment within the hour? Mine that is the level of service you pay for.

No offense taken, I'm too old for that energy lol. But your right. And this grams per day VS plant count is a joke. The whole setup is. Do I consume the grams per day my script says? absolutely not. I just need the count due to space, time, and power limitations. Without a doubt its a get out of jail free card and the system has set it up that way. I cant wait till they pull their heads out of their asses and open up the recreational private sector. Get rid of the problem all together.

I have yet to meet anyone other than my moms friend who has severe MS who has had a doctor sign off. The only clinic that I have ever been to that didn't charge me was Natural Health services in Edmonton. They were/are a joke. No fees as they charged your health card but they wouldn't go over 3g a day until 6 months later. Then they would up to 5g. It was all about just getting you on the LP wagon really. But holy shit they hand out Ativan and killers here like pez.

Try Apollo Clinic in Toronto. Last I heard it was $250, but I don't know the gram count. My renewal for 3 grams was $120. I know, I know, a small count but with that (plus the household 4) I can grow way more than I need or have space for.

Last time i Talked to them about PPL its $250 (can't remember if they swindle tax on this one) flat irregardless of script.

they had to hire a few RN/RPNs? kuz their Docs don't seem to want to touch them. I still think its steep for something that SHOULD be simple.. but such is life right?

If it is actually flat regardless of script I'd suggest sending them an email or a call.. they do tele confrence through a secure app pretty quick and easy.

There is many a legal grow out there run by people who snort coke and treat their community like fucking shit.
This is why they shouldn't be selling licences to just anyone!
And yes most people in this discussion have valid points here
And if cannabis is being grown by greedy criminals that are just selling it to benefit their shitty lifestyles and influence communities in negative ways then that is a big problem.
I should've called the cops on some grows I've been to.
I wish I had.
Maybe next time I will.
I have had my personal safety threatened and my family's safety threatened by said criminal growers.
And somehow they obtained a legal licence to produce legal and marketable weed and they gain more money and power ?
It's a god damned shitshow this whole situation.
I'm at least thankful that the police are on my side and willing to protect the good people who don't need to be involved in an industry that is fraught with problems and childish abusive adults that are only in it for a quick buck.
Only some folks are worthy of getting a licence.
That's all.
Some folks are just terrible people who should be put in jail for what they do.
Be it selling weed for their cocaine habit and drug deals and illicit activity.
Or be it that they spread their terrible influence on the community around them.
I wish people were just better at being good people,

But that just ain't gonna happen...
The cannabis culture needs help here in Canada.
