Here's the worst-looking plant out of the bunch. Also the oldest, and slightly stunted from pH issues.

Here's the best-looking plant out of the bunch. She's been the most hardy through tough times.

Was just reading back through and this caught my eye. Story of my life, brother. I've probably mentioned I'm a software developer, and not for the money, well at least not originally. I have a strong passion for "cool stuff" which usually involves something very technical or mind-blowing. Her? Not so much. She shuts down at the first mention of anything to do with growing or coding, or any of my other pointed interests.

Yeah it can be frustrating when your going on about all sorts of cool things that you learned or figured out and they have this glazed look...

I try to not bother telling her shit, but it was funny tonight I was battling the fungus gnats, she asked if I needed help because it's like 1am and I've been working for like 3 hours. So I ask her to make up the sticky traps and within a matter of seconds she literally had gotten one stuck and it ripped off her fake nail, I laughed so hard and told her she better just let me handle it...

As for the humidity situation. Sounds like you have a solid plan.. I have been running both my six inch fans 24/7 and my humidity has been way better. Still the rest of the house gets a bit more humid then I would like and still some condemnation on my windows but as long as the girls are happy then I can deal with living in a tropical rain first type environment sometimes... :tiphat:

That's great to hear. Hopefully it's not having too big an effect on temps the way mine would. Living in a sauna is not the worst thing in the world, just watch out for the nasties that like to live in very humid houses (mold, dust mites, etc). I'm much more cognizant of that stuff now that I've spent the last year and a half completely incapacitated by some mysterious illness. The only common thread I could find to my symptoms was living in a damp house. So watch that :tiphat:

Found the arduino I'm gonna use for this project. Everything about it is the same as the Arduino Mega, except it has a higher max voltage and a few different types of protection designed for reliable industrial use, which seems like it would be paramount to success. It was really stressing me out thinking about this thing failing, and now that I don't need it right away I'll be able to take my time, spend a lot more money and do it right, with plenty of testing before it gets put into use.

I jumped up and decided to install all my blumats at 3 am, rather than waiting til lights on tomorrow evening. Seems to have gone pretty smoothly, but I didn't have enough tees to run the small plant, so she'll have to wait. Fortunately my basement has a concrete "shelf" built the whole way around, so elevating my res was as simple as setting it on there. It stays nice and cool too. It's the same place I keep my ballasts, but they're on the opposite end of the room with plenty of drainage channels in between the two.

I'll report back tomorrow with pics (if I can find my sd card) if anything notable happens. Hopefully I can get these dialed in within the next few weeks.

I do that all the time get up at 3 or 4 am and starting building and re arranging things - other night I spent 3 hours pruning and re organizing all the pots.

That sweet that you got the bluemats hooked up - I wanna see a shot of that setup with the Rez and everything.

Merry Christmas -

Friggin' cops just showed up at my house. When I got home from Christmasing with the local family, I left my backdoor open for the cats to go out while I ran downstairs to check on my ladies for the first time since lights on. My crazy looks-like-a-crackhead-but-says-she's-a-lawyer sort of neighbor (she owns the house but does not live there) got robbed (again) by someone in her close family. She came over to see if I had seen anything, found the door open and let herself in. She didn't see me because I was in the basement, but she could hear stirring so she thought I might be getting robbed too. So the cops came.

The good news is that the carbon filter has already paid for itself 30 times over, because my whole house would have been reeking without it. That's the second time the cops have showed up here this month, and I'm way out in the mountains!

You'll get that for sure, just give me a couple days. I need to get everything cleaned up and find my SD card before I take any more photos. I'll probably wait until all my new controller hardware is in and hooked up.

I also got my humidifier (re-) built (5-disc fogger in a kitty litter bucket) almost just like I had it in Cali. So I'll have some photos of that too.

Holy shit man that's crazy. Can't believe your crackhead landlady called the cops while you were in your place!! Thank god for the carbon filter, wow merry Christmas eh - cops at your door.

Hate hearing that cause I m just on my way after being gone couple days. I hate leaving my girls. Thankfully I got a buddy that helps. But I really don't trust anyone to see my show let alone physically take care of it !!

Iam so glad to hear everything is ok - shit that's hectic.

Anyways yea look forward to seeing your pics. And I wanna know how that controller works.
The weather where I has has been so nice no snow at all yet it was like 12 degrees earlier, actually perfect weather cause pulling outside air in.

Anyways hope the rest of the holidays are a little more low key. No more surprise visitors!!!

I had some time to think about it and here's where I went wrong. I was at a Christmas dinner across town all day. When I got home it was almost dark but light enough that I could still see inside the house. I left the lights off because I didn't notice, and the door open for the cats to go out for the evening, and headed downstairs. The neighbor (not my landlord, the owner of the house next door) came over to ask me if I had seen anyone at her house (I hadn't) because she had gotten robbed (again). She came in the open door and through the house a little, saw all the lights were off (it had gotten dark in those 20 min) and heard me moving around in the basement (checking on the plants) and thought whoever robbed her place must be robbing my place.

So I guess she's partially justified in calling, but the whole thing really stinks. She's an old hippie and I've had one long conversation with her in the past where she made it pretty clear that she's "cool" so I dropped the comment, "good thing I hadn't sparked that bowl yet" just to make sure she thinks twice before calling again. She apologized quite a few times after that. I have her number, so I'll text her tomorrow to give her my number and tell her to get in touch with me before calling anyone else next time. :wallbash:

Had the same issue with ocean forest being crazy high ph. Literally so high the test kit topped out. Returned a half of a pallet. Wasn't the first issue I have had with it either. Seems like they are rushing aging to meet demands and or over liming. Guy at my local store was having the same issues, so he happily let me test all of the soils they had on hand to see where they were standing.

THANK YOU for confirming this. I thought I was going insane for a while (this happened with my last grow space too). I never plan to buy another bag of FoxFarm, but if one ever comes back my way, I'm going to be watering and testing runoff well before planting.

I got it in my head today that I might have popped the wrong seeds. Anyone who followed my last grow knows I got completely fucked on the Sublime OG clones I got. They were supposed to be low thc, high cbd but after 14 weeks they were still pretty much just low everything, and I had almost my entire first harvest invested in it (~$12-15,000 total to get there) and I ended up with just 1.25lb of this Purple Platinum and 2oz of Blue Cheese to save my ass. I still have some of the Sublime -- I keep it around for those times when I'm "too high" (such a thing?) because it helps me level out a little.

Anyway, when the PPOG hermied, she pollinated everything in the room except the blue cheese and I ended up with about a thousand PPOG seeds, most of which I gave away, and a couple hundred sublime seeds, of which I kept about 2 dozen (I'm a little bit of a hoarder). They're pretty easy to tell apart; the Sublime seeds have that long, skinny Sativa look, and the PPOG seeds are short and fat and stubby.

This was all a year and a half ago, so my memory of it is pretty foggy. I noticed these plants are branching quite a bit more than I had remembered, and I thought I might have mixed up the seeds.

So I spent about two hours digging through old photos to confirm that these are just bigger than my last PPOGs.

TL;DR I'm stoopid and I need to get a life.

Clones are looking good...I think something like 16 have fully rooted now, so the genetics are preserved at least.

And you see where my clone/veg room is headed. I had a brainfart in the depot and got 1 piece too few of pvc. I'll head back for the rest today or tomorrow once they have my dehumidifier controller. Got some black/white poly in the mail today. Just gonna do the duct tape thing for now. I'm gonna be strapped until I get through this harvest. I quit my job to do some contract work, but it's not going to pay until after harvest time :\

Plants are looking pretty good. They were a little stressed out by adding the other 2 lights, but they've gotten used to it by now and are beginning to thrive again.

Showing up on one or two leaves across 3 different plants, so I'm taking it as a sign that I'm headed in the wrong direction. Looks like P def to me, not sure what's causing it tho.

For the humidifier... I want to point out that that float valve must be installed on the wider side of the bucket, all the way at one end in order to keep it out of the way of the fogger float. Once it's operational and filled it will work flawlessly as long as the water never runs out. But when it gets drained and refilled you just need to check one time to make sure the float valve isn't on top of the fogger float and vice versa.

The mailman was screwing around with my packages, but they were here by the time I woke up today. That's the day/night temp controller and the black poly I ordered. I installed the temp controller in the tent using the green light and set day/night temps to 77/68. I also built the 2x4x4 veg tent and moved all the clones and lights into it. Now I'm just waiting on Home Dumpo to find my dehumidifier controller. Tracking says it arrived yesterday... hrmrmrm...

Almost done with the flower room!!
