3.5 gallon buckets? and Controller?

Anyhow my Chanting brotha, i might be coming across a bit more room so i am interested in maybe givin' the controller a try. As i think you allready know i have been runnin' buckets for quite awhile but using my own method, well someone elses method actually i just converted his concept for buckets. Works excellent but i have to have the rez under the plants at all times, i think it would be nice to have it out of the way, But those Controllers kinda scare me switch failure and the like ya know? Have you had any probs at all?

Hello everyone, Lord Benis in for a quick update. Sorry for the lack of updates, been very busy trying to find some worthy cannidates for the grow area. Many thanks goes out for all the help along the way We're now in the final stretch, here's some older pics from 5 weeks into the 12/12 flip.

been runnin blind for the last few weeks w/o a ppm meter, kinda fun but comes with its downsides... burnt them a lil bit with the PK13/14 a couple weeks back. Backed off on the nutes... they are on the home stretch now.... started flushing yesterday. they are filling in nicely,,, starting to lean... had to bust out my bondage jukes

bonzo- dont worry about, keep it brotha, i had a local friend lend me his. I know what you mean about the controller... scared me at first, kinda goes against the whole K.I.S.S.... but I personally love it... makes growing a breeze. Havent had any problems except a clogged a pump filter and some PH swing issues that I tracked down to old DI beads in my R/O filter (they werent lowering the PH)... but nothing that I could fault the system with. been rather busy, sorry for not gettin back with you earlier, gratz on the chop, that orge looks tasteyyyy : ) hit me up here or in PM if you got any more Q's about the buckets

WHOA!!!!! absolutely unreal bart!!!! Now that looks dialed in my brotha!! I notice your usin lava, i could never get that to work for me but i dont recall if i ever tried it in flood and drain, hmmmmm. Same question as kokua(hi kokua!!!) what strain is that? Also is your controller made out of a 3.5 gallon bucket and are you using 3.5 ers for your plants?

kokua- thanks brotha, couldnt of done it with out your help. : ) the strain is a local cut that has been passed around my area, labeled Malachive, found in some random bagseed grow a couple years back, no relation to the actual strain Malachive.

bonzo- lol dialed in/?!?!?! not even close... I dont think I could dial in a strain if my life depened on it heh. about the lava rocks.... it took cuts a lil longer to be able to pentrate and move the lavarocks to get down to teh water level... but once they did they took off like weeds. the lava rocks provide good lateral support... helps prevent plants from tipping durring those last few weeks in flowering. controller is a 5gal bucket, and the pods are 2x3.5 gal containers (lol I think... they could be 3gal... they sell 2 or 2.5 gal buckets at the Home Depot, if i had a chance to redo my setup I would prob go with those just out of ease of getting them.... Not sure if they are white tho... light sealing buckets is a PITA. I purchased the buckets from the online retailer linked in Kryptos thread. thanks for the comments brotha, coming from you... shit, gettin me all red cheeked.

Looks like my post didn't post....

I have some cool little one gallon buckets for my clones and mommas that match my black 5 gallon buckets. Got most of it at www.usplastics.com I actually found the black 5 gallon buckets, minus lids at home depot. Some overstock they had purchased or something. They had rows of em at that time. Anyway, looks like you're just days away from a good harvest. Enjoy.

Stoned2death- thanks for the info, yah you lucked out with the black buckets at home depot, I called up every Home Depot/Lowes in my area... None carried black buckets, something about them not being food grade.

BG- Hey brotha, glad to have you visit my thread. soon ill be posting in YOUR thread...watching the masta flex his green thumb.... When you harvest you know ill be runnin with scissors to help you trim. : )

drummerlars- thanks for stoppin by brotha, we cut tommorow... ill post up harvest pics then.... we chopped teh top nugs off the gimp plant on saturday to ensure we would have some smoke for 4/20... that plant we took at 55days, should be ready to smoke tommorow.

Thanks, I can't wait till that day comes. LOL, I think will be more stoned then trimming. GOD, I hate trimming. Never did like it. Don't know about my green thumb. I think it's a rusty color right now.

I'm in shock at your buds! Awesome work guys. Mad props.
I built a Krypto bucket system awhile back but could never get it to work right, so i set it aside for a later project. i like what you said about the pumps being too big...i'll need to lookinto this, mine would cycle on/off too much and made it dificult to use...food for thought.
anyways, nice work. be cool
