Bangi Haze

V

vod

So I just bought two packs of bangi for next years outdoor. I hope they really are mold resistent. Just lost my forest crop to mold (and pollination :spank:). Anyway :D Looking forward to growing your gear :D And hopefully smoking it :joint: Will also check them out in my micro setup under 170W CFL. Hopefully I can work with it outdoors a bit in the next few years. How true breeding is it? Any experience regarding the passing of the mold/rain/cold resistance in crosses?

Good day vod,

Bangi Haze is very mold and cold resistant. It's a F6 inbred line right now so it's quite true breeding, her qualities are dominant and intensified when outcrossed. Good luck!

Dubi your forum is one of my favs on this site.

I was going to let a few BH go over the winter outdoors this year and was wondering how much of a frost it will tolerate?
The coldest I usualy experience in this local is around 15 to 20 farenhite. These rare cold snaps only happen once or twice a year and last for a few hours .
I dont want to take a risk with these if I could loose them. What do think?

Ive had the opertunity and pleasure of collecting a few fine South and Central American varieties over the last 22 years.
My favorite personal old school strain that I collected is a sublime, candied, sour grape tasting goodness that reminds me of a melted grape "popsicle" when its grapey stickyness covers your fingers and palate . I believe It originated in Mexico from the highland area of Micheocan State. It finishes purple, very cerebral.
The Addition of your genetics would make any collection just about complete.
Dubi, Thanks again ...

Welcome four seasons

Bangi Haze hasn't been fully tested to resist frosts, She tolerates temps around 0ºC, even lower for a few hours, 20ºF would be limit, 15ºF probably too much.

Your purple american line sounds interesting ... is it a pure sativa? How long is the flowering time? I haven't tried american sativas with such kind of candy/grapy aromas!

Dubi, I collected the seed stock in 91. It is a pure sativa that finishes the first week of Nov.
When it was gifted to me I was told it was from the Micheo. state of mexico.
This might be incorrect as I did not collect the stock from the place of origin myself.
All I can say is after twenty some years of messing around with long season strains this one is my fav.
Dubi, since I cant post pictures yet,Can I send you a picture?

Bone Carver I have been blessed with the art of travel myself. I grew up in Europe and have shuttled back and forth from the USA most of my life. My travels into the Americas were a learning experience. I am an archaeologist so my visit into Mayan and Olmac country was a cultural treasure for me.

The sativa strain I speak of is of the classic Mexican genotype. But this Christmas tree profile is stunted a bit. The height of this particular variety stays pretty short and never gets taller than six feet.
The leaf structure is classic sativa variagation with deep serated edges.
The floral structure is a bit differnt than its relatives.
The calyx formation is not fused. the calyxes are large, rounded and slightly elongated.
Very little sub tender leaves nest the bottom of the calyx formations. The little bit of sub tenders that are present are random and are not patterned like a classic sativa or indica sativa hybrid. The floral clusters form in small groups along the internodes of the stem and do not stack beyond the internode, therefore forming a very open profile with small popcorn floral formations spaced evenly along the thin sweeping stems. Even the very top floral clusters stay in tight ball formations, never stretching between one node to the next.
Because of this very open and centralized floral formation the yield is relatively low considering the very high calyx to leaf ratio.
The glandular trichome count is very high.
The aroma which transitions to flavor 100% is all candied grape with no other hints or notes in the bouquet.
Ive crossed this plant with several others and the results have been astounding to say the least.

Sounds Good. I thought the magic picture number was 50.
Ill get the photo uploaded. Do I need to use photo bucket or some other type of outside source or do I simple paste a Jpeg.
Any support would be much appreciated.

The origin of the strain mentioned (Dejavu) and another old mex I grow are from a Mexican nationalist who worked with our excavation team during a university dig in cooperation with UCF in central America during the summer of 91.
Anyway, without to much discloseur the seeds were gifted to me by an honest hardworking brethren who was born and raised in Micheocan state.
The other variety I was gifted in 91 is larger more classic sativa with a "Dr. Pepper" soda, sweet and spicy bouquet.
I call this variety Spicy Cola. It is not as cerebral and has a heavier body thrust in the buzz.
I use cannabis mostly for my chrons disease and past experience with colon cancer.
Thanks.

Sounds good, mexican cannabis is very special and diverse and seems a little neglected these days. I grew an Acupolco based strain a while ago that blew me away.

At the top of the page is the user menu button from there you can upload pics then just click on it when you're writing your post and it should appear.

I use cannabis for chron's too, and cos I love getting high :rasta:

Thank you much for all the help.
I reduced a few picts. last night.
I hope I can get this right. I am not the most computer savvy person.
In fact I am down right ignorant in front of a keyboard.
I guess my generation was just to far behind with this stuff...
Lets see if I can post these picts...
