:tiphat:Hello I'm Rodehazrd and this is my first try with Ace
I have grown og and headband with some success and of course popped a few freebies. Original Amnesia is as far as I've been in sativa land.
So I ordered 10 Bangi Haze, they sent 12 and I put 5 in a towel.Saved the lucky 7 for April.
Well 4 cracked and I got 3 of those above ground.
One came in like crazy bolted for the sky,i fear it's a male. Other ones are finally growing, slowly.
I'm in a hibrix mix to which I added a cup of phosphene or bone char for each 5 gallons. This may be the issue since I'm getting some deformed leaves.I will try to post pix hope someone has experienced this. I grow for myself so pushing the limit is just not my way. I have not added any other nutes

Hi Rodehazrd,

How did your Bangi Haze grow turn out ?

42'5N here. Basically same conditions as you, it looks like. I also had really high RH during night, and rainy days towards the end of the grown (over 90%RH). I harvested mine in late October too. Just a little bit of rot (10% or so).

About the mildew; In my experience, as long as you keep them healthy and don't have them near a vine (or something similar, that attracts a lot of "garbage"), they should be fine. They are pretty resistent to external shit if they are handled right. I had one Bh that was sick (because various reasons), so I placed her near the neithbour's vine; she started to show a little bit of mildew, but it never advanced.

Noone of my babys had mildew (PCKxKaliChina, BH and Malawi), and I had them outside, so I don't think you should have problems inside a greenhouse (root could definitely be a problem if you don't have good ventilation and maybe a fan. At least where I live).

Anyways, I will be growing BH next year for sure. Smells really good, tastes nice and the high is really good with friends (at least for me). Also, it's almost perfect for my weather(Floyd Mayweather lol xD), and It's a sativa!!!

Hey dudes. A couple of photos of a little BH's bud from last season. 43ºN. Around 5 months in jars now.

Smells super good, like lemon skin or something, with undertones that I'm not sure how to describe, maybe classic and something like... gasoline?. More oily than sticky at the touch, not too dense but not too fluffy either. Maybe a little bit too wet in the inside for my taste, in the outside is perfect. Tastes pretty good too, but I will not comment because I like to add a little pinch of tobacco to my joints. The high is pretty much what I was looking for: clear with no body stone, puts you in a good mood and its good during all day and with friends. Nice for dance around or hit the punching bag too. Maaaaybe not perfect for computer games, but It doesn't get much in yor way. Sometimes I can feel her "above my eyes" (I think you know what I mean). It lasts for a good amount (the high I mean).

Really strong against cold and heat. Really strong against botrytis and mildiu. Bugs didn't even touched her. Pretty thin stems, she didn't like my LST. Harvested her around the first week of November with ~10-15% amber trychs, so a lot later than I expected.

This season I was thinking about going with her again, but... ACE don't have them in stock and I'm not sure about buying seeds in a grow shop :( Also November is way too much for me I think...

Hi vcasqui,

I'm glad you had a good experience with Bangi Haze past season, and that you have enjoyed her terpenes and effects. Bangi Haze was originally bred in a latitude and wet climate like yours, the line still keeps that desirable mold and cold resistance in latest generations.

Bangi Haze standard (regular) was reproduced outdoors past season so we have plenty of stock, only the fem version will be out of stock until the end of the year.

Thanks a lot for your feedback and for showing your tempting Bangi Haze cured flowers :yummy:

Peace friends.. Have a BH in now out in the yard.. Smallest, shortest plant I have ever seen.. Maybe 4" tall where others of same age are 12". Pinched top last week and nodes are branching. Very kool. Thanks to Ace for my fav plant this yr.

Welcome Vdubman,

Yes, some super compact Bangi Haze phenos can be found in the line, although i usually prefer for breeding the more vigorous ones with moderate node length.

I've run through many Bangi seeds and I ended up keeping this single plant. It is an apple smell as best I can describe. It reminds me of Mandala #1 or Satori. I can't remember which. The high is strong. Clear and focused but with a good amount of body compared to other Bangi I went through. Not geek out but instead introspective, serious, and composed. The nodes stayed super tight and the plant overly squat during flowering. Not trip weed but considering I let go almost every seed I pop regardless, keeping this says something good. The other Bangi Haze examples looked drastically different while remaining similar to each other.

Hi Applesauce,

You are right, usually the Bangi Hazes with better and more complex terpenes have a more balanced effect.

Glad you found a really nice Bangi Haze female of your taste, with fruity apple aromas (sounds delicious!), and with a nice clear and well focused effect, yet balanced: not so nervous or introspective. Wish she stays with you for a long time! :huggg:

this has probably been said already given the size of this thread but I noticed Bangi Haze clones poorly, takes very long to grow roots and clones have quite a hard time outdoors if the weather turns dry before they can settle a good root system. If growing guerrilla better to use plants from seeds, my bad, I decided to finish flowering the sexed MP and put clones outdoor, should have done the opposite those ones are going to need some extra cares for sure.

Hola baduy,

You made a very good and interesting point.

As you have experienced, Bangi Haze clones take more time to produce roots than the average. Typically, clones from not so inbred sativa and sativa dominant strains produce roots in only 7-10 days (depending on the health of the clone, rooting system, temps, moisture, etc ...), but most of the Bangi Haze parental plants that i work with need at least the double of the time to produce roots.

This is due to inbreeding, take in mind Bangi Haze is already a F8 inbred line, i still managed to avoid through latest inbreeding process many undesirable traits like lack of fertility, lack of growth vigor, lack of potency and resin production, lack of quality terpenes that were present in the line before i re worked her extensively in 2014, but i was not very successful in improving much her easiness of cloning, guess it's (nearly) impossible to avoid all the undesirable inbreeding consequences that a heavily inbred line could have at this stage of inbreeding, so i mainly focused my efforts to improve its fertility, vigor and quality of the flowers (terpenes and effects) in latest generations.

Other highly inbred lines like Nepal Jam or ErdPurt also need more time than average so their clones can produce roots (because the same reason). On the other hand, clones from other heavily inbred lines like Panama and Malawi produce roots very fast.

Guess it's much easier to keep good vigor through inbreeding process with sativa lines rather than with strains with more indica genetics. The size of the population and the diversity of the lines used through the inbreeding process and the decisions of the breeder also play a big role in this sense.

This is one of my bangi haze. The other is smaller and very vine like but smells identical...very spicy but earthy smell at the moment. I have clones of each but I think this is the keeper for at least one more run if I like the smoke.

Hi Jahaze,

Wow! Really nice indoor Bangi Hazes you have there! :)
And with only 7 weeks of flowering under LEDs!

I like a lot your growing skills and how you develop your plants: they look super healthy, well developed and with great flower/leaf ratio.
I also love the outcome of your latest Orient Express grow :D

Wish you found interesting BH parental plants to keep in your mother room for future grows!

Best wishes for all! :tiphat:

Hi orfeas,

Yes, yours is a very congolese, late flowering Bangi Haze pheno, they are quite rare to find nowadays in the line, i found just a few when i reworked extensively the line in 2014, but i discarded them as i found them too late flowering, too tall and lanky and without the desirable flowering traits i wanted to keep the personality of the line.
...

Thank you for your comment, dubi!
Discarding I would have done meself, were I breeder, on exactly the same premises plus the lack of power in the high it induces ...however it's a very nice day smoke, the one that makes feel you're not high... :)

Bangi Haze almost ready

Bangi Haze almost ready

Dubi and everyone else thank you for the positive vibes! Here are the two bangi gals that are finishing up. The taller one should be done this week as she has mostly cloudy trichomes with almost zero clear and a few amber. The shorter one still has about 10 more days I think but may go longer. they are at 9.5 weeks today. both smell almost identical (sweet and spicy with a touch of citrus) but the bud structure is slightly different and growth pattern obvious different. The shorter one never wanted to go vertical she always spread horizontal even with pruning. the buds on both seems too heavy for the branches to hold upright and I've had to tie everything down for fear of having a branch snap. Interestingly, the stems are really flexible on both and left untied they droop but don't snap. So far this plant has been very easy to grow and I have both clones but I think Ill keep the taller one only because the shorter one likes to branch sideways...even the clone.

Just one thing to mention: finished my third round with BH...I like to have different choices, so I allways grow five different strains. From 30 different varaties I´ve had so far ( all well known stuff like Super Lemon Haze, Vanilla Kush, White Widdow, Ak-47 Nebula, Wappa ec.). literally EVERYONES favourite is..guess what? BANGI HAZE...Even if they are a little picky ( thin stems, more need of Nitrogen than I´ve expected for a haze ) its our wholy grale and all time daily medicine - beside Zamaldelica and the marvelous Malawie/PCK ( if I want to go further more up in the sky to see Lucy`s diamonds).... THANX A LOT ACE DUBIBROTHERS

Excellent Jahaze!

Congrats on the harvest of your 2 your Bangi Hazes! :)

Yeah, they really have different structures. I'm glad you keep clones so you can evaluate which one is your favourite or choose the one that works better (based on branching, height, finished product) in your setup. Wish you enjoy the outcome!

I'm so glad that Bangi Haze remains as a favourite for you and your close circle and that you have already completed your third round with her. Wish she stays in your garden for a long time.

I'm proud of the intense work i have done with Bangi Haze since 2010.

If you are a fan of the strain i would recommend you to explore also some Bangi Haze hybrids like the new Panama x Bangi Haze, or the new BH hybrids we have already produced by crossing Bangi Haze with the pure ethiopian, and a few more we are planning to produce in the upcoming months.

Best regards :tiphat:

Hi Rodehazrd,

How did your Bangi Haze grow turn out ?

Well she struggled under my cfls and had deformed leaves but when I put her under the 1k hpf she reached for the sky. I must say she was , a sleeper coming on strong in the stretch and surprised me with a couple oz of beautiful buds. The flavor and effect did not impress right away but after a four week jar cure she came around nicely. I finished the last of her camping on the beach. 12 weeks in the jar was very good it had a very sweet taste so much t h at I would mix a little in other strains
To get that taste.
The cure was a big deal on this strain. I had known curing was important but this was an amazing difference. I will run this strain again this winter.
How would this be in low humidity. It will be High desert for me next spring in a new location.

I will check it out, thanks for the input. I now have a new 2x4' t8 for starting plants but the low heat of the led is attractive especially now. I plan to start the bangi under the t8 then MH for veg HPS for flower. I have seen posts saying haze needs more blue than the HPS gives so I think I will put the CFLs around the flower room for that run. Im a single 1K grower now just growing my own. Planning to move the operation and expand next year so I will be shopping for LED soon as I relocate.
thanks again,
Rodehazrd

I'm limited to my 2' x 3' tent as my only garden at the moment but I plan on using it as my veg/mom room when we get moved to a permanent location where I can put in a big light for flower. The LED array I built is working great so far. I'm using a mix of warm and cool lights but they're easy to switch around if wanted.

Hi need4weed,

The ACE Seeds packs sold through our official retailers are always sealed and come with our original packaging, else the final customer knows that the pack was open before receive it.

I ordered Bengi Haze (F) Malawi (S) and Tikal (S) from Ace in January 2017 and all the seeds came without Ace packaging and just in tiny plastic bags labeled with a permanent marker only. Was disappointed and contacted ace through email and Luis responded saying Ace no longer ships in Ace packaging:

"We sent you the seeds without the original packaging to make the shipping (parcel) more discreet. If the seeds are sent with their envelopes then parcel is too big and it can be easily inspected by customs. So we did it in that way to make sure you will receive your order, and don't worry, the seeds have the quality and freshness we promise. Best regards, Luis - ACE Seeds"

What's up with that? Sounds bogus to me. Have just germinated the BH seeds and now I have to wait 6 months to see if I was ripped off or not.

Seems like you answered your own question.

Everything I have grown from ace came in the same packing you described and turned out just as expected.
I think their packing is genius and very professional given the circumstances.
You have nothing to worry about except maybe a hermie or two that shouldn't be too big a surprise given the sativa genetics involved.
