Gorilla Girl in flower soon to chop, lots of good posts about josey wales and the GG #4.

Dans buds and unckle fishsticks figure heavy in the spread of the GG 4

Been almost ten years since the release of GG 4, damn.

Smoked a bowl of the Sugar Black Rose, glass spoon type pipe with a hole on the left side.

Good stand in smoke for the lackluster growing Orange Sherbet, no love lost there.

Decent mouth, citrus spice on the exhale, effect is quick and long lasting, 8/10.

Keeper stock in veg and one in flower as we speak, good plants, easy to flower and trim.

Quick to root cuttings, the plants veg robustly as well.

The lone Orange Sherbet in flower is an afterthought at this point, maybe will cull as she is a runt.

I speak of these two cultivars as interchangeable, I hope the Gorilla Girl stands above both, we'll see.

All three of these cultivars are what I describe as fat pistol types, versus the plants I usually flower.

Are fat pistol type plants a thing, I wonder, as the plants I have kept to date show thin pistols.

Perhaps these recent cultivars are indica heavy, as the stock I hold are sativa heavy hybrids.

I'll post pics to illustrate the difference, I know you're all on the edge of you seat about that, lol

From what I've grown over the last couple of years, I tend to associate long pistils with sativas, and shorter/fatter with indica heavy plants. Pic above is TRSC Highland Thai. Hairy girl.

Sugar Black Rose sounds like a nice smoke.:smoker:

Good post, thank you for that.

Without the contrast of indica/sativa hybrid plants I wonder how many growers know
that there is a difference between an indica heavy versus a sativa heavy phenotype.

None of my out crosses breeding program show the short thick pistols.

Wasn't until I flowered the Orange Serbet, Sugar Black Rose and Gorilla Girl stock that I noticed the difference.

Good stuff.

Sugar Black Rose, (Critical Mass x Black Domina) is a great smoke.

Good mouth, smooth on the exhale, not a lung buster like the 07 and F1 x P1.

Have yet to hit the Agent Lemon.

Which indica heavy cultivars you flower anyway,
and that TRSC Highland Thai looks real tasty,
what she taste/smoke like, I wonder.

Nice. Hadn't realised SBR had Critical Mass as a mother. I've been growing a high CBD version of Critical Mass called "Medical Mass" (RQS, fem), and made a few crosses with her as a mother. Seems a great line to work with - vigorous, productive and smooth tasty smoke. Medical Mass x White Rhino was especially good (I'm taking some of these to F2 in my current grow). am minded to find some good Critical Mass too, go back to source.

Other indica heavies or pure indicas are some TRSC Afghan mix (lucky dip - they had them on offer as they accidentally mixed up 3 different N Afghan landraces - got a couple packs of these) grew 3 females which were all different (purple wookie, hashplant, fruity fuel), and Purple Bud (Sensi, fem), Which is (Afghan x Jamaican) x (Hindu Kush x Purple Kush) - a great knock you on your ass evening smoke. but most of what I've grown is sativa or sativa leaning hybrid. Has taken me a while to come round to Indicas.

The HT has a unique scent. TRSC say its "musky citrus", which is true, but its not fruity - its hard to put your finger on exactly what it is. Tasty, for sure. And the smoke is pure "up", euphoric, long lasting, not trippy or paranoid- positive calm vibe. Damn now i want to grow it again. Just remembered I made some Medical mass x Highland Thai seeds too. Those will be fun.

Chopped the 07 plant in flower 64 days, she has the cherry fuel, will look forward to smoke her.

Have some from a few weeks ago as well as the F1 x P1, good stash, you wish you had some, lol.

Smoked some T haze stash the other day, blew my head off.

Next to chop is the SBR and GG around 2/8.

First grow with a GG cultivar, smell is complex, buds tight.

Lots to unpack from your post, aliceklar.

Will reply after I research the cultivars you mention.

You have much skill to grow, nice.

Medical Mass x White Rhino, which White Rhino in that cross, I wonder.

Medical Mass x Highland Thai sounds real good, lots of genetics to look at.

That Real Seed Company Afghan Mix has lots to look at, your selection looking good.

You have many threads showcasing the cultivars you flower, will follow best as I can

Thanks Dude! Well... I nearly killed everything in my most recent grow.. 😅 Hopefully I learned my lessons (ie, pH is crucial, and over-watering in compost is fatal...)

The WR in the MMxWR cross was from a 10 pack of White Rhino regs from MSNL. I planted a couple of seeds in late 2019, one germinated (it was the male). In 2021 I planted the remaining 8... only 2 germinated, one died... the survivor is also male. Have yet to smoke any straight White Rhino! But I did get some Verdant Green Rhino D from Seedbay recently... (the cross with C4DD). Might run some of that against the MMxHT next... You know how it is when you make your own seeds and have a tiny grow space... always too many choices...

Medical mass is a fun base strain to cross with. The Critical genetics are strong, and loads of interesting sativa influences on the fathers side, from the Royal Madre. I think the grandfather is related to Zamal (from La Reunion). Some lovely terps, and nice effects, inc potentially high CBD as well as THC. Lucky dip. Have 5 F2 MMxWR on the go at the moment - looking forward to seeing how they smoke.

The Gorilla Girl and Sugar Black Rose soon to chop, they at sixty days on the eighth.

Dropped micro and feeding at 0.08 EC

The last Orange Sherbet goes until 2/17 +/-, week plant, maybe two grams.

Two Chem Dog doing well, will be sixty days 3/15, flipped 1/14.

I wonder how the Gorilla Girl will smoke, if better than the Agent Lemon and Sugar Black Rose,
I will have to choose a keeper stock, as not much room to keep all three cultivars.

After sampling the Agent Lemon, am leaning to the SBR.

But wait, there's more.

More Agent lemon seeds soon to pop, we'll see.

Will cross Agent Lemon x Agent lemon soon.

Chopped the Gorilla Girl at sixty days.
The Sugar Black Rose also chopped at sixty days.

The SBR at sixty days, she was ready, and the previous SBR at sixty days was real good after a few weeks sweat,
but I will let the next Gorilla Girl go seventy days, the GG at sixty days had more clear than I usually take,
we'll see after a good thirty day sweat.

At this point in time, I think the SBR, Agent Lemon, Gorilla Girl are mostly equal in potency,
and will, for now, only make crosses within these cultivars.

The Bagseed stock will stand apart for now.

Maybe will cross the Agent Lemon with T haze later this year.

Some S1 of T Haze maybe flower this spring, we'll see.

Up potted two each Agent Lemon and Gorilla Girl cuts.

Ordered some food service 32 oz black plastic pots to flower bigger plants,
can't use standard nursery pots as they all have holes in the bottom.

I do hempy style, and will drill one hole for drainage on the side, up about an inch.

Will pop more AL seeds soon to hunt for females to cross to AL males held in veg.

Recently chopped a SBR and GG, they in the paper bags/jar to sweat/dry.

Sugar Black Rose in veg, will flip one soon, she's the standout among the new seed stock.

To my surprise an Orange Sherbet seed in the stash, will pop that in a couple weeks,
maybe she will be a more robust example of that cultivar, as the donor plant was
good smoke with nice flavor and mouth, but sooo slow to veg.

Orange Sherbet S1.

One lone runt OS in flower to chop soon.

Thunk stash been a few weeks in the jar, smokes like you wish you had some, lol.

Agent lemon in the jar, mold. Tossed.

Will dry the next run harvest more, duh.

These heavy indica plants are thick, so I will more closely manage the sweat.

Just a few grams, but likely smoked some spore laden buds a few days ago.

Bleach.

No worries, my previous runs before the SBR, AL, OS and GG dried quick quick.

Acclimation with the new heavy cultivars is on point. i now understand and employ
a more drawn out dry schedule with these thicker cultivars

The Gorilla Girl and Sugar Black Rose stash finally in the jar, I alternated bag drying and jar sweat for more than a week.
Them buds are thick with moisture, and now I understand the posts that say many more days of pre dry versus
what i have been doing based on my cultivars to date.

Always learning.

Some 07 and F1 x P1 stash in the jar, maybe make some budder, wife likes edibles.

Also, the Maple Leaf Indica is a proven sleep pheno, no wake in the middle of the night, nice.

Had some unwelcome restless nights with the SBR.

More seeds of the MLI to pop, also the Agent Lemon.

The Chem Dogs in flower are blowing up.

Smoke report soon of the Gorilla Girl, she presents floral nose, much like my original bagseed mum.

Started adding CaliMagic to the nute mix, some plants show hollow stems and want to balance out that deficiency.

Also made up spreadsheet to track all the plants from seed/cuttings with excel from start to finish.

My old brain is slipping, so with the spreadsheet can track what I am growing and when to flip/chop, etc.

Several phenos with staggered start times.
