Hey RosettaStoned what do you think of this hard plastic container? Its good sized it will collect rain fairly well. Its wider to help stability of the plant when the plant gets bigger. Its hardened plastic that I will drill holes through on the bottom and sides so it drains water.
100 liters of soil in one. And they have some that are 150 liters I think. That would grow some huge plants I think. I was going to use some small dead trees and put them down as a base and set the plastic tub on top.
This is someone else's picture of how they full enclosed their grow tub with sticks and fencing. I think its genius and effective. What do you think of my ideas?

The_Core Yeah those will grow some pretty good sized plants. They spread their roots out more horizontally than vertical so the wide pots are a plus. I always close in the tops of my cages until the plants grow up out of it, just so no determined deer tries to bit the head off of one of my babies. If the holes are big enough you can leave it closed and just let the plant grow through it and use it for training, but I generally don't.

Thanks Bro! I am going to do just that. I am thinking to run 20 of these 100 liter containers next year. 50 bags. 25 soil and 25 of manure.
It will be expensive but completely worth it

Was out at the site the other day, and the bagseed there put off a REEK, very skunky and strong for a small plant. Not sure if I want this to be male or female anymore 
either way I'll be very happy, it looks to have some solid genetics in it.

RosettaStoned, Went to my spot today and collected a water sample from the ground by my grow bags, and from the nearby lake. I tested both. You would not believe it!
Swampy ground around my bag, Water pH= 6.2!!!
Lake water ph= 6.9-7.2
Looks like I am going to pull the lake water and water my plants with that. And with the ground water around my grow bags at 6.2 I think I will be ok with any PH problems. Now I just have to wonder about possible root rot if my roots grow down into the mucky ground.

I believe the water in my swamp is somewhat acidic, but not enough for my plants to mind too much. You lucked out with that, sounds like you could really do some damage out there. If it's nice and sunny, the plants love the extra water in my experience, it's just when it rains a lot and stays wet for a few weeks you can have problems.
The weather around here has been just fantastic. There'll be a few days of rain and then lots of sunny days after that, but just when they start to get thirsty it rains again.
I visited the spot and top fed the big 3 girls with some composted manure and a small bit of chicken manure. It may be a little hot, but they are pretty big now. I think they can handle it and will probably love it. I will see how they respond in the next few weeks.
I put out the last bagseed, I had forgotten it for a day inside and it looked on the verge of death it was so thirsty. A few days later in it's new home and the plant has perked up and already looks much much healthier than it did inside.
I've changed my mind about looking for a bagseed male, it would be too easy to end up pollinating my whole crop. Instead I'm going to kill any males outside. I'm going to start up some bagseed indoors for a week or two, flip to 12/12 and try to find a decent male to harvest pollen from. I'll store it until the beginning of flowering and very carefully apply to only one lower bud on each female. I'll probably bag the bud and spray water around it to kill any stray pollen.
Here is the big bagseed girl, she's growing well. I found female preflowers on her today, and she has a fantastic skunky smell to her! Seems I really lucked out so far this year, fingers crossed it keeps going this way.
Here is the more indica leaning Jack Herer girl, the topping was successful and she's beginning to grow her two tops, I'm going to try and train her a little more heavily that the others. She has 9 leaf fan leaves already.

She is definitely my favorite so far. Her main stem is trained a little below all those tops. Another shot.

Your plants are already so big they are going to be monsters by harvest time.
I wish I could have pre grown 1-2 foot plants before placing them outside, but it was too big of a security risk in my apartment. And then trying to move them to the car and then back out of the car into the field. Fuck that!

I found out that the area by the lake that I planted in was actually a cattle grazing area. But they are staying away from my plants because they are in the swampy area. But come next month when the ground dries out more. I am afraid they might eat my plants.
Next year I am having all my plants in one area and fencing it off and spraying predator animal scent all around my grow so the cows will stay away. The good thing is that this area with the cows is keeping everything else away, people and deer. Here are 2 of my bags with updated picture from yesterday.
If this spot works out I will definitely keep it for next year and may run more plants or keep the same amount and use more soil so they get bigger.

Well I don't know how much cattle like weed plants, but I have had deer totally strip entire plants. That's why I always cage everything, and once they grow out of the cage, they usually aren't bothered. I believe the plants get more resinous and woody so they don't like it as much. That's also why I use hot peppers in my foliar spray.
Another update from the swamp.
Weather continues to be a blessing. The plants are responding well to the manure I topped with last time, I hope to top feed them a few more times before flowering starts. There was a small bit of digging by some small critter in the new soil, but not enough to disrupt anything, but it was on 2 or 3 of the plants. Whatever it was it left all the foliage alone.
Here is the small bagseed, too small for preflowers yet:
The bigger bagseed girl is doing alright, started her LST. These two don't have as much soil as the 3 big girls, but it's still a good size and they should hopefully take off in the next 2 months. This one is definitely putting off a pungent smell, gives me hope for some potent buds. Bagseed genetics are always a gamble, but she's showing good traits so far. Here she is:
Here's one of the Jack Herer girls, seems to get less light than the Brainstorm and the other JH plant, but I grew here last year and I got some good Skunk #1 buds out of it, so it's enough.

And of course the Brainstorm. I have to tie the top down every time I go out there, still growing like mad. Her tops are a little floppy, so I may need to put in a lot of support for her, especially once we get deep into flower. There are tons of great tops though, really excited to see her bud up this fall. She's around 4.5-5 ft tall not counting the mound, and almost that wide, too. I got a nice smell off her today, sweeter than the stinky bagseed, my Dutch Passion plant last year was one of the tastiest smokes I've ever had, so hopefully I'll see similar results with this one. I did some research and this strain used to be called Hempstar, mabye you guys have some experience growing her.
I can't believe it's only June already. This is uncharted territory for me to be so far ahead. In past seasons I was still putting out plants trying to get them to survive. The plants this year will also probably be much taller so the buds will dry out/develop better come flowering.

So the Brainfreeze is definitely going to need lots of support, especially when flowering hits. Half of her tops were flopping over today, but otherwise she is very healthy. It shouldn't be too much trouble, I started today, but the insects were unbearable so I had to leave early. She's really going to spread out because of this, but it'll make more tops and a better canopy, and probably increase my yield. She's also going to be massive, seeing as how I have 2 months and then some being flowering begins, not counting the stretch.

A little update. Weather still good, though it looks like a few days of rain for now. Brainstorm wasn't floppy anymore when I went to give her some support, but I did some LST on her anyway and spread her tops out. Going to do a lot of LST on these big girls until the stretch starts to kick in, then I'll let them reach for the light a little more. I made a nice mixture of composts and manures that I'm letting sit for a few days then I'm going to top feed again. They really seemed to like it last time.
I have some really good news, and that is that I've found female preflowers with pistils on both of the bagseeds, so I was very lucky and all 5 are girls. The big ones have had pistils for awhile. From what I've read, both strains are supposed to be pretty early plants, this will be ideal because I never know when the fall weather is going to turn very wet for a long time.
I put like 6 old bagseeds in a paper towel, I usually do this to germ my seeds, and only one sprouted after a week or so. The rest were probably too old, but I found another newer seed that may sprout soon. The sprouted seed is not a happy little seedling on 24/0 for a few weeks then straight to 12/12. Just need a little pollen for one bud on each of the big girls and maybe the bagseed if they are really nice.
Here is the bigger bagseed female. Going to bring an extra bit of soil for her when I top feed, I have a feeling she could really take off then.
The other one, now confirmed female, to the top of the cage now, I'll begin the LST on her soon. She is beginning to pick up some vigor and coming out of her rough start. Going to train both these bagseed side ways to get a nice canopy instead of just one good bud.
The three big girls are all 5-6ft tall now, Brainstorm is almost as wide, too.
The smaller, more hybrid pheno Jack Herer plant, did some training on her after I took this.
This Jack Herer is bigger, some of the fan leaves are huge, almost the size of dinner plates. Very bushy and took well to the topping.
And of course the swamp beast, the Brainstorm. You can see the branches I've added for support/training. The ground here takes well to staking for some reason. She has so many tops, my hands hurt already from all the trimming I'm gonna be doing this year lol
No idea how much I'll yield this year, but it's going to be more than I've ever gotten before if things continue going this well. Not a single real issue with animals or bugs yet, other than some minor digging after I top fed, but no damage to the roots that I could see. Very excited to see how these ones bud up, but there's still a good bit of veg yet to turn these girls into some real monsters.

Not sure how to tell, but they get sun for most of the day, they are in the middle of a little clearing so a good portion of the sky is clear
@ The Core - I'm using essentially the same hard plastic container, 20 gallons, starting from seeds I don't know if one plant will even maximize all the room, but will be interesting to see.
Rosetta - those girls are getting big fast! As far as calculating sunlight, I use "Sun Surveyor (lite)" app on my phone. Pretty cool app, calculates the sun's path over wherever your standing and tells you how much direct sun or whatever.

I've got no smartphone so no luck with that, but I will check it out. A single plant will easily fill 20 gallons, you can see the medical growers here using 200-300 gallons or more just for single plants. They'll fill out whatever you can give them, and it's pretty hard to overdue it with soil volume.

I'd say just do the single plant, once they take off, they really take off and will use all the space you give them. I did an indoor grow with multiple plants in one container, but generally it's not recommended, especially for outdoor, unless you have a huge soil bed.
