Yes ijdc i do use the root mats but the fine roots can still grow throw sometime, u do need to keep an eye on them can course problems with the smart-valve i do have an idea to fix this problem may run it past Jim Fah.

C99 GF x SW can be done i have 3 C99gf seed left i,m all 4 new strains and good seeds.

Craven Just wanted to mention one thing after u mentioned Jim Fah, i dont understand with the autos is why have a 15l and 5l version its still only wicks to a certain level in the containers no matter the size really only the diamator makes the difference for the root mass so wouldnt it be better to have the same height as the 5l pots and a wider diamator? u should run that idea past him Craven. :D Sorry for the rant mate lol might be something worth testing working it out the 5l pots are about 3l just root mass when there filled so wouldnt it be worth say like tryin a 420mm pot cutting it at like 20 to 25cms height (as u know it only really wicks to near 3/4 the height of the 5l) so its works out to be about 15 litres aleast nearly 9 to 10l would be pure root mass so wouldnt that be better? just food for thought, wanted to run that idea past u.

The 5L 2pot system was made 4 more short term grows eg tomato vegies. The 15 L Hydrotray Single 12"
is for growing larger long term plants.

You can get nutrients to wick to any height in the system by changing or mixing the medium. The 5L pot were design 4 100% Perlite HxLxW. The 12'' pot do need a perlite vermiculite mix to get the nutrients up to the top of the pot.

I did find by just adding coco on top of the perlite not mix it in that the nutrients making it to the top of the pots giving clones or seedlings a good start. and the deeper roots bonus from the better aeration from the perlite.

The problem with a wider diameter is it increase the surface area of the tray there for more nutrients is needed to fill it witch will increase the time of the wet cycle don't good = root rot.

Some Pic of My clones in the perlite/coco 3:2 (not mix i don't know what two call it need help) :)

As you can tell there was no transplant shock at all :) and the clones started grow faster when placed under 400HPS at nice distances 3 foot. Cloned under cfl

thx for the stars m8

Yer man still on the 69 why i like it i don't know:).

The Head formula https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=55683

If mixed right with good tap water the ph will be 5.8-6.0 no pen needed for drip to waste/hand feed

2:3 micro:bloom
6ml micro Per US Gallon
9ml bloom Per US Gallon

The head formula very easy man and just as good as other formula i have used canna coco, DM and the General 3 part i stoped using calmax just was not needed.

I believe Good lighting, Ventilation and temp, stable PH 6 for coco last is Nutrient you can get good buds with any GOOD Nutrients your using if setup right.

(All ways nice and damp for young plants for fast growth) not soaking wet.

I added 4 more plants two the system last night two more CSXDC and Snow white.
I may move the res out to make more room and add 1 more 400hps 2day i hope the room can take the heat.
