haha yea trying to chill with that full belly , they are not too active until it gets digested , he headed up on the roof , might be in the guttering or found a hiding spot up there where its good and warm and out of sight ..
hes not as big as he looks chi , the belly makes him look a lot bigger than he really is ,
ive seen some really long ones that were a bit thin for their length and the odd fat and really long one , i guess they are different sorts of python , but most folks up here just call the scrub pythons ,
id say the one in my pic is a carpet snake , they tend to grow to 12 or 13 feet from what ive noted in the time ive been watching ,
the amethystine pythons (scrub python) are much larger , up to 8 metres , and maybe more on the odd rare old one so the locals reckon ..
Ive seen one around 20 ft , or a little bigger ,, up to 12 inches diameter in the wider section of his body , and a head like the size of a good sized dog , 4 inches at least between the eyes ,
i really like snakes , so felt privileged to see that big fella , not many folks get to ever see one that size ...

That's right Rod. I saw one here a few years ago that was 25 feet. S/he sounded like a canvas fire hose being dragged as s/he moved across a big rock.
Took us a while to see the snake and thus explane the dead wallabies by this hole in the chook wire fence. The wallabies were wet up to their hips and we figure the python couldn't crush the pelvic girdle to get them down his throat.
Have some pics in a suitcase somewhere. Perhaps my descendants will find them.

i found the bigger they got , the less they were worried about humans and the more docile they were as a result ,
after about 10 ft long i guess we are a bit less of a threat to them ..

goodness thats bleak and cold looking for me star ,, the poor trees are even mostly naked except the conifers ,,,, brrrr , id be in that grow room of yours all the time if i was there ..
So my new spot this year got absolutely thrashed by possums. Luckily I am trained in having plants eaten, only really sucked for a little bit this time. The rest from my old spots are doing okay though
It may look bleak but actually it’s exciting because this is very shortly all going to come to life and be very beautiful

i think my record prevents me from going to your neck of the woods too ...
those little tufts on the ends of each branch and on the top seem to suggest they are going to be some reasonable flowers it seems star , they have formed quickly , its going to be great to watch the rest of the cycle , should be all over in 8 to 10 weeks i figure ..
