yeah its true.... fine perfumes and creams that youd get in a designer boutique place that make them up specially((as described when hannibal lecter buys some stuff for clarice in the city of florence in Hannibal)) use it...dunno what for lol... anyway ambergris is so valuable thatwhen it washes up on the beach..youve not to touch it, youve got to inform the police or something-thats counted as property of the queen... ****ed eh... the queen owns all the whale puke that washes up on the beach lol

In the old days of New England whalers, a barrel of ambergris was worth more than the rest of the whale. Who knew that puke from a sick whale was a valuable commodity?

i remeber years ago on the news that in japan they were having trouble getting the younger generation into eating whale meat.....so they made the meat into bright coloured burgers(fluroesent looking) and slapped a couple buns around it?

research--- to using marketing to make sure you have an on going consumer? cant be fooling many.....but showing the tourists from japan the waters and the whales is atleasted a good small step?

just hope after we start sending our navy ships in to watch...that they dont send the same to watch over there whaling trips.....how much can someone love there blubber?....find out i guess..

hope the whales know we love'm....=)

As for the whaling, until we have world police, which is never a good idea, IMO (too many cultures to have any set standards), it'll continue.

Tronic, yes under our previous government we wouldn't ratify Kyoto, but as of a few weeks ago we have a new government, and this one is moving quickly to ratify it

^^^ seriously.

i'ts not like it's some absurd proposition or something, Bush's main problem with it seems to be that it isnt "in the best interest of all" or something along those lines. Maybe it was a "flawed plan" - not really sure, just finished cramming my face off so im a little mentally burnt out haha
