Aspirin for plant immune booster

I tried both CVS and Walgreens, and both pharmacists told me the closest they have is the micro thin coating. Said they'll dissolve in water though np if I break em in half. Will these work, or do I need to find actual 'uncoated' aspirin?

They sell liquid salicylic acid in both CVS & Walgreens. Saw it in CVS behind the pharmacy counter, so you may have to ask for it.
By the way, heat treatments rock. 120 degrees kills them and their eggs, and sterilizes the room. There is a company now that makes machines that automatically heat rooms up to any desired temperature to kill all kinds of pests. Don't know how much they cost, but well worth it for large grows/warehouses.

Good news. Finished out my Triple Diesel crop which went from 24 plants to 4... But, I finished up, and they look awesome..
Took 30 clones now in their sixth week of veg (topped twice and large)... And they too seem cured. I still hit 'em with the nasties
each 8 days or so - alternating FORBID and AVID in Veg. About to take the next generation of clones.

Will do a Heat treatment on each one of the 24 or so that I plan to flower out before I go to 12/12.

Been using 3 aspirins to 5 gallons, in veg and up til week 6 in flower. Seems to have worked. Made it through it. It's FUN again.. ! The trichome production is off the charts with this variety, and NO pistils are burnt, or oranged prematurely.

In fact, using the H & G line with AN PK Boosters added and billions of Microbes - produced copious amounts of Pistils, Trichs, and Thick-ass Weight... I am impressed to say the least. BM's would have arrested this process in many ways.

I still see traces in the veg room of their passing.
Not out of the woods yet, and may never truly be. That's OK.
No more of Other's clones though. Trip-D and new seeds only.

There turned out to be light at the end of the tunnel. Based on the yield I am seeing with the Trip-D,
I only lost out on about the equivalent of 5lbs or so.. Ouch/\. Expensive lesson. One I won't soon forget.

So no go on the micro thin coated stuff? I couldn't find anything that said 'uncoated.' I'll check again though and see what's up. Will check on the liquid as well. RetroGrow, have you used salicylic acid in liquid form before? Just wondering on the mixing ratio. Thanks.

try a dollar store if you have one . They don't specifically say "uncoated" but they also don't metion "time release" or coated.when i put them in a gallon jug you can see them expand and start to break down within seconds . I break mine in half anyway .

Haven't had to use it. I have no problem finding traditional, uncoated aspirin in CVS. Just have to look. Most aspirin comes coated now, 'cause it's easier on the stomach. As far as the liquid salicylic acid, it shouldn't be hard to figure out. I generally use 325 Mg. per gallon, although you can go higher. I have used as much as 3 of the 325 Mg tabs per gallon with no ill effects when mites were really bad.

Yeah, I've seen Walgreens brand uncoated online as well; however they don't seem to carry it here locally for some reason. Pharmacist said the closest they have to it now is micro thin coated. Will order some online if I can't find em here in town. Thanks for the info.

Soon a Nutrient company will produce it, and sell it for 5x the price of the uncoated aspirins.

Actually, Bud Factor X from AN contains the acid. Previously, Scorpion Juice contained it. No idea what else if anything is in there for $94.99usd before discount. Of course, the Rep claims it is one of the most important pieces in the AN puzzle, but didn't say what it contained. Nice Guy, but I wonder if He even knows about the effect of Salicylic Acid..

The only liquid salicylic acid I've been able to find so far is wart remover, and it says liquid "with" salicylic acid, so who knows what the hell else is in there with it. Pretty sure someone already mentioned this on one of these threads.

Got a bottle of the micro thin coated stuff from Walgreens here that I had planned on returning. Thinkin' about just givin' this a try though. I mean the only problem with the coating was that it doesn't want to dissolve in water right? From what the pharmacist told me, this stuff will dissolve easily if I break 'em in half. Think he said they just do the thin coating so that people don't end up with a bunch of dust in the bottle if I heard him correctly. Dude had a pretty thick accent :)

No problems with the micro thin coating stuff so far. Just cut 'em in half first, good to go. Only a couple days in now since I started using it, new growth looks a little perkier tho. So how long into bloom should I be using this? I've heard it'll induce bananas later in flower.

There was some experimentation going on at OG around the turn of the century with aspirin supplementation for trichome growth enhancement. In a lot of cases you see increased trichome population without a concomitant increase in total cannanbinoids.

Aspirin doesn't just activate SAR, it can have far-reaching effects depending on application dose and schedules, that haven't been fully researched...

Thanks prune, I'll give that a try.

Mixed up a new res in my veg room yesterday. Came in today and the thing completely blew up with brown algae tho. Don't know what happened. Got the exact same mix in my bloom room (GH 6/9 + aspirin@325mg/gal.) and no algae in that one. Weird...

Hey guys, i think CVS is getting rid of the uncoated Aspirin? I went to a few and couldn't find any... then i found some at another location and it was marked 75% off. I asked the manager if they were discontinuing the product? He said typically when they give that much off it's going away. I bought a couple of the 1000 bottles, not sure if they will come out with a different version or what. Figured yall would want to know.
