Aspirin for plant immune booster

My bad with the repetitive questions. I definitely didn't word the question right. I ment too late as i flipped already. I believe you posted on the BM thread that before you were aware of what you had the Aspirin was preventing DUDS.

I agree 100% i shouldn't of flipped but i have time restrictions. I will run Aspirin from now on as the leaves are pointing up towards the light and they look better. My Tent is in the garage and it barely gets to 80 closed with fans on. So that's why i didn't feel i can get the temps to 120. I actually have another 1k and 600 and will try to get the temps up this weekend.

The BIOWAR is on it's way. I was hoping to at least control it with Aspirin/BIOWAR. I haven't finished reading the BM thread but it sounds like you have never used the BIOWAR? Anyways bro, you lead me to water so it's on me now. I appreciate all the info and patience with my silly questions! Thank You!

Correct. Before I knew what broad mites were, I was having my seedlings start to die from what I assumed was a virus. I knew of the immune boosting properties of aspirin, so I tried it. Seedlings perked right up overnight. I took the plants from seedling to finish with BMs using only aspirin, and the plants came out fine. That strain was Critical+. I also had some AK47s that finished but were duds. They looked good, and smelled good until the last couple of weeks, when they lost their smell. They turned out to be worthless, so part of it may be strain dependent, or maybe the BMs were more attracted to the AK47s. No way of knowing.
In your situation, though, being already in flower, your only option to knock down the BMs fast is heat treatment, which is really simple once you get it dialed in. Just remember not to have any fans blowing on the plants while heat is turned on. This also kills BMs in the room, not just on the plants. Be advised that they are in your house now, and will probably return, so you must keep scoping and treating. I never used OGBiowar, but others claim success with it. But, you need to knock them down with heat first, then add OGBiowar to keep them in control.

Anybody recommend a space heater without Auto Shutoff? My home depot and lowes were raided for the holidays and only had a few that were auto shut off. Oh retro i've been trying to finish reading the BM thread. My egghope i s are round and milky... i believe it's the 2 spotted mite? Those are different then the BM? Hope i didn't ask this already?

Somebody stalking you!

Storm Shadow is stalking me and Some Old Dude. He neg reps all our posts because he's into poisoning people. There are others, but he is the main one. He also has multiple accounts here, that he uses to compliment himself, neg rep others, and generally stir up shit.
A fool like that is actually complimenting me with his neg rep. It means I'm doing something right.
By the way, cyclamen mites are treated the same as BMs.
No use in reading that whole thread. First half is all about poison, which you can't use in flower anyway. You're only option is heat treatment, but each day that goes by, mites are injecting more poison and decreasing your odds of a good harvest.
In the last third of the thread, someone explains how to rig the space heaters to bypass the auto shut off.
Search "space heaters" or "bypass" in that thread and you will eventually find it. Or use Some Old Dude's method by adding more lights for heat only.

Well that's a wrap! After being away for a few days came home to chem4 throwing balls! I can't say whether or not it's the aspirin, but i never had balls on chem4 before. My cherry pie would throw a few on the bottom plant, but i could just pick those off. The chem was throwing them all over the whole plant. I'm so pissed!! Picked up my tray and flipped it over!! This is fucking ridiculous!! I'm a totally disabled med patient with no garden now!! Fucking BS!! I can't get my temps up that high, i read that whole BM thread and see the question asked... but nobody ever answered. There has to be something i can get that doesnt have auto shut off!! Now wtf can i do? Sorry, i'm venting... Guess i'll have to go chem route now unless i can find some space heaters... 2400 watts isnt going to bring my temps up high enough. I'm in the garage and it's cold now. Well just thought i would share my latest headache!

I promise you that someone in the last part of the thread explains in detail how to wire the space heaters to bypass the thermostat. Use the "search this thread" option in advanced mode and search "thermostat".
As for aspirin, I never grow without it, ever, and never had a nanner. I have even used dosages as high as 3 tablets per gallon without any issues. You can't use chems in flower. Miticides are extremely toxic to humans as well as mites. You don't want to be smoking them.
Took me 2 minutes to find this:

"It's pretty easy to bypass the thermister, I soldered a wire to each end of the thermister thereby cutting it out of the circuit. My heater just runs and runs and I was able to achieve over 120 degrees. I have ran some tests heating up some leaves in a mason jar in a pan of hot water and killed all mites, don't know for sure if the eggs are affected, I saved the leaves in a jar and will check later to see if any eggs develop.
I'm so glad you put up the link to this thread at GP and I'll report here and at GP after I turn up the heat on these buggars."

PM the guy if you can't figure it out.

Sorry to hear about your loss PriznnPlanet. I recently realized I have BMs and have started this heat/aspirin thing for the first time. I went and bought a Holmes 1500w space heater and set it just outside my tent with a 6" Vortex fan pumping it in. I turn off my exhaust fan and recirculating fan and start pumping in the heat. It takes about 10 minutes or so for my small space 3'x1'x1.5' to get above 120F. I keep it there for an hour. I have done this twice now (3 days apart).

I have also been using CVS uncoated aspirin at 325mg per gallon in my reservoir for almost a week. My flowering plants were clawing and blistering when I returned from a Christmas vacation and noticed the damage. They are now standing up towards the light again and generally look like happy plants. I am getting blown pistils and have irreversible leaf damage on the tops, but the plants are drinking, budding, and stinking nicely.

I don't have detailed pics of the heat setup or close ups of the damaged plants, but I will definitely include some in my next update this weekend. Hopefully this information helps you in your battle. Good luck!

Retro, thanks for link... i obviously missed it. I'm by no means a handyman due to my disability. I have Rheumatoid Arthrtis and my hands can barely open.

I'll see if i can find somebody that can possibly make this happen for me. I trashed this grow last night when i flipped my tray over and turned off the light. I was talking about the chem route in veg for next try. I don't have the time to run seeds and find a good pheno, or keep moms so i'm forced to get clones. DHN "use" to have healthy, pest free clones.

I know you're against that, but if i can't get temps high enough what else can i do? I'm also concerned that i won't be able to run all the wattage from my outlet? I have my power tapped in from pool breaker...50 amp
Sorry if i come off as dumb as box of rocks... This use to be fun, now it seems like a PIA

You realize that the mites are still in your room, right? Any new clones you bring in will get them. You should heat the room as high as possible in between runs to kill whatever mites remain in your room. And don't buy clones without scoping them first. You can run femmed seeds of known good strain, Super Lemon Haze (Greenhouse), Grateful Casey (Connoisseur Genetics), Critical Jack, Critical+ (Dynafem). These femmed seeds tend to be very similar, almost like clones. My Critical Jack had 10 plants that were virtually identical. Plants from seed tend to grow more vigorously than clones anyway.

Don't stop the aspirin. Keep it going throughout.

Yup. Storm Shadow is still stalking/trolling. He's a gutless "internet tough guy", who hides behind his "anonymity".
He's way into poison, so he doesn't want anyone coming up with alternatives that require a bit of thought.
See how long it takes him to neg rep all these posts.
What a tool!

prizzn, sorry you had bad luck. Don't give up. Your plants will provide for you, patience and calm is required. People rarely succeed when they are in too much of a rush to do the things they know they must. Take a deep breath, relax and know that if you put the effort in, you WILL reap the rewards. Just may take longer and more effort than you hoped.

My buddy is going to bypass a couple units for me this weekend. Hopefully it will get high enough. He did say it sounds sketchy and advised me not to do it. I told him i have no other choice. I have some fem seeds i got off the farm. So maybe i'll try them out. Thanks dude!

Nothing sketchy about it. Heat kills mites. Worked for me, and works for lots of other folks, including the guy that just posted in this thread. Get multiple thermometers. If room is empty, take it as hot as you can for as long as you can. If it has plants, get canopy to 120F for an hour, raising plants off the floor if they are on the floor, as heat rises. Don't have any fans blowing on plants when heat is on.
And now, we will let StormBOY do his thing with the stalking. That boy is obsessed with me.

I think he means the bypass is sketchy, and technically it is. The bypass is there for a reason, however I think as with any dangerous tool, used properly (monitored!!) and with caution will highly mitigate the risk. Unless the electrical system in your house is sub-code your outlets will be breaker protected and with you watching there should be no risk of fire in the room. That said the most likely casualty should failure occur would just be the heaters.

Exactly bro... i got a fire extinguisher on standbye. Did you put ducting in front of your heater to get the heat in? Trying to get a visual!

Retro thanks for always dropping the knowledge. I have my tray about 1.5' off the floor... My tent is 10 X 10 X 6.5 so hopefully i can get temps up. Plan on cooking the shit out of my tent for the next week, no plants at all now. I definitely like the cherry pie from dark heart.. If i can achive these temps i would still like to run that. Cherry pie is a beast outdoors. Will start doing this over the weekend and post back the results.

Well I haven't had to go this route, but as I understand it... Yes you could put a duct in front of your heater that leads to the room, if you did this right you would not even need to bypass the heater safety as your garage would stay cool while the heater pumped all its heat into the grow room, the heater would just keep cranking thinking the temp was low as you cook your grow room :)

Yo Priznn. The fan on my little space heater was not powerful enough to duct its output. I used an old 6" centrifugal fan on a speed controller to give it a little help. I then used 6" flex duct to pump the heat into the tent.

I also have an 8x8 tent I have heated up before. I know it could get over 100F with 4x600s and no AC during the winter. You might need to experiment with the right number of lights, heaters, and fans to get up to 120 and hold it for an hour.

It took me a couple tries to get something rigged up that can superheat the space consistently, but now it's really easy. I'm going to give my third heat treatment today and I should be able to pull my current crop through to harvest.

I just finished up the Cherry Pie in my last grow. Definitely some sweet smoke. Good luck man!
