Are Proxies A Must?

How about not using your own internet connect to log on/email address..

What if you only use the starbucks internet connection or a school connection, seems like the only way they could track you is through IP and if they did they would just end up getting a general one for everyone? Thats probably not how it works though? :nono:

I never log on on my home connection but i'm not really sure if this is any safer. If not then that would be cool, i'd be on here all damn day

If you are truly paranoid, don't use Windows. I have my notebook set for dual boot: Winblows and Ubuntu Linux. When I need to work with or discuss sensitive material, I boot to Linux. Much more secure against keyloggers and other trojan crap because the root is more secure for one thing. With Tor, Firefox with NoScript TrueCrypt and some other stuff, I feel a bit better.

check out qproxy org which I am using at the moment

Peace

i highly recommend ubuntu linux as well. very secure. installing tor is a breeze with that too.

it's also very easy to use overall. i put it on my wife's computer a few months ago. at first she was skeptical, but now she loves it!
