not my photos, and wouldn't know how to tell if they had been fiddled, but either way the clouds in Taiwan do extraordinary things - it's a small island on the edge of the Pacific, and the montains go up to 4000 metres ... most of the central mountain range is between 2000 - 4000, with thousands of miles of empty ocean to the east, and the vast Asian landmass to the west ... so you get some way out clouds ...

I love the cloud formations that mountains cause. Clouds are so boring over plains and flat open expanses.

Wish I could see that more often.

I felt that "anywhere but here" about a few weeks ago. I took off... I've been traveling the last few weeks through California. I've seen some very beautiful places in the outskirts of LA area... orchards, farms, etc. Sure beats where I -was-.

I have another month of traveling/staying on farms/homesteads. I'm planning on going and doing that in Northern California.

Feels great to reconnect with nature. I have felt trapped in the city the last 5 years (gag).

Seward Alaska

I was actually thinking about that today at work.

I used to live in Seward, it's not a really great place to live, but one of the most beautiful places on the planet, and a beyond great place to visit. Its right at the entrance to Kenai Fjords National Park. (about 1.5 hrs drive south of Anchorage)

I don't make it to tropical escapes, but local Super Cells are devastating clouds.

I'd suggest spending time in the Sierras & redwoods in northern Mendocino and Humboldt counties.
