Anything outdoors 2020

Is that covered in a "breathable" material? Or is it just typical plastic?

What are the temps & humidity like inside and outside of it?

It's far too hot in my area most of the year for a green house lol...It'd be roooasting inside.

Someday I do want one similar to that in size & style tho, so I can grow kratom and caapi vine and some other ethno-botanicals & tropical fruits that'd need some warmth & protection during the winter in my area.

The covering is 6 mil 4 year poly.
Sides roll up a bit more than half way.
Under the roll up sides there is fine mesh screen.
Two 18" louvered fans mounted in the south gable end.
One side has a big ridge vent, screened, that lets the heat flow out with convection.
It rarely needs the exhaust fans on with the ridge vent and inside temps are very close to outside.
The ridge vent and roll up sides are on timers.

Last year I used a 40% shade cloth and fans before putting in the ridge vent. Don't need it this year.

Gotta love that ridge vent Zeez! Man someday I'll have a sweet as setup like you and all the other bad ass greenhouses on here.

I've seen some giant bugs, crickets, cricket looking things, moths. Shit!!!! I'd love a GH , with screened in sides like yours.

Sweet post, like the ridge vent loop video thing. If I was smart I'd figure out how to do that :plant grow:

Yeah thanks. I tend to overdo things. After dealing with caterpillars outdoors and electric bills indoors, this turns out to be a good solution. I had a good time building it with my 80 year old father in law and the results have been great. Solving the heat problem completely with the ridge vent was huge. This could work anywhere with a solar panel and a couple batteries. Maybe doing light dep down the road.

Those beasts you're growing are pretty impressive. With 300 gallons, you might be getting up there with Schrews.

Smart idea screening your greenhouse vents. Keep the bugs out, keep the phytoplasma out. The nastiest disease is spreading like wildfire across the US thanks to potato farmers and nobody is talking about it.

Shiittttttt. Schrews is an absolute inspiration to me . I’ve had a bad day, like miserable, and that comment makes me smile.

I’ve got 10 300 gal, and several ones in the ground are rocking . Lucid dreams are wild how big they are . One blue dream in the ground is crazy as well. My pictures don’t do them justice.

My soil is amazing, literally have orchards surrounding and the river less then mile away . If I could space plants out further they would be hugggggge. I love the 300 gallon pot elevating them to work on, but gonna need a ladder to harvest . Champagne problems lol

The ones in the old GH structure with metal beams are OG . Supposed to be really good cut, but not huge yielder .

I’m just hoping to get thru the fall , then moving inside .

Blueberry Headband cross. A clone from a seedling that was first flowered in early spring (or it could be a re-gen, I forget).

pic taken around August 9.

flowering is definitely occurring later this year, by about a week.

Normally by the second week of August, there are so many pistils you can look and say, oh yeah, lights went on 12/12 first week of August. (using indoor terms to describe outdoor)

Or another way of putting it - in previous years, this is how most of my plants looked - first week of August.

Not counting the seedlings that were just planted in the ground a week ago, the 5 older seedlings and one older clone are all a little slower to flower this year.

I sure hope I get to do shit like that one day. Well done dankwolf, they look amazing.

Here is my SourA5Haze on the patio. She is getting a bit big for her patio britches and hasn't started to flower yet. If she overtakes the roof, I may have to abort which would be a shame. Put her out way too early to be a stealthy patio plant, lol.

What sort of ground cover have you got growing there LoneWolf ? Is it a legume whose root nodules fix nitrogen in the soil that is then taken up by those monster plants ? Inquiring minds demand to know...

Its a succulent that spreads like wild fire and dies off in November to till back in . I got it from a local grower that has been growing in my area sense the 70s and it is all he uses. He has a vary successful nursery and so i am giving it a shot .

I was using white clover but did not care for the mat that it created on top of soil.

the ultra early love potion seed spot in the first 2 pics, the biggest plant in the second photo is the lone remaining male. i have grown this strain several times and i think this male looks like the pheno that's moldproof and branches as strong as rebar. the last two pics are boreal lights in this spot, and will probably flower just as that male drops pollen, which is very soon.

Sweet! Thats my kind of garden! Glad to hear you found a good male to pollinate with. When pollinating, its recommended to use at least 2 males to maintain some diversity in the genepool. It will be alright.

Pollination is recommended to be ended when the female flowers are about he size of an eraser. Flowers will have a few seeds and continue to produce .

seedless flowers.

I culled the 2 males in my garden this weekend. Add a little indica to the mix to make them earlier, more shade tolerant, and more branchy.

I noticed all plants are staked. I recommend mounding soil around the stems to help them stay standing. You may not need stakes for them, and actually the waving with the wind helps strengthen the plants.

Prune some of the trees and natural foliage back in the area to let in more sun and help the plants grow stronger to help sturdiness. Looks like they have pretty good sun. Nice spot!

What type of repellents do you use?

outlined is one of the boreal lights. it's getting near 5.5 feet and getting branchy because of lst? @pipeline, great advise, thanks. luckily we have no racoons, deer, skunks, and some bugs that attack plants, here on the west coast of newfoundland. but rabbits and snails/slugs and moose can cause problems. i still have some more seeds and will be doing the same grow next year but will use more males next time! but this male seems like it should produce great offspring. i'm also hoping to get a good clone from this spot.
